- My sponsor Fox Racing flew me out to Snow Summit in Big Bear California for the 2019 US Open of Downhill Mountain biking. Even though I didn't have a Downhill hill bike put together, we made the best of it.

Hey Phil, this is Lance, thanks for putting me in the vid and it was super fun riding with ya! Hopefully we can shred again sometime soon...!!
Someone sponsor this dude some knee pads! 🤣
That was so fun to watch...Phil is absolutely incredible!
Yo Lance here's all the footage I have from following you in one video.
ruclips.net/video/lYXJwpTYTf4/видео.html
Thanks Phil!
Me: Omg he's flying down this mountain! How can he go any faster?
Phil: I'm am not taking the right lines...
How on Earth do you do a manual on a wall ride
I was thinking the same thing
mind = blown
went to comments right after i saw that moment in video. dafuk 4real
Phil : like this?
just pull back lul. xD
the wheelchair dude is OP, love him.
I think I saw him and a friend in mammoth too!
Heck yeah, its awesome that he keeps going!
Phil: In downhill You want to ease into it
Also Phil: bombs the trail at warp speed without a downhill bike
Connor Parmelee Mtb on his first lap no less
You manualled that wallride!??!?! Classic Phil...
Seriously!!! Also, lookin' forward to watching your Snow Summit vid when it's uploaded!
I had a similar sound coming from my bike and it turned out to be loose gears on my cassette. In my case it was the top two gears that were loose and rattling around as I rode.
Lance knew he had Skills With Phil behind him so he was totally sending it. All out. Gotta respect the send!
I started bouldering a few years ago, but I fell out of it due to the pandemic. Discovered an interest in bikes recently and it's interesting how similar the mindsets and philosphies are. Reading routes, testing lines, optimizing technique, overcoming mental barriers. I haven't gotten my first MTB yet, but I'm super looking forward to it, thanks in large part to your channel and others like it!
Love the spirit of the adaptive MTB rider. He was super positive and encouraging. Makes want to disregard work and hit the tail right now!
Gotta love 30 minute vids, I always watch the whole thing it feels like 5 minutes.
LOL just watched and found your comment.
Duuude that little jump off the tree at 5:48 was so stellar
It's so cool watching you hit our local park. It's insane at how fast you took your "warm up lap" down 10 Ply, that trail is no joke and you were flying. Mad respect 🙏🙏🙏 love your channel 🤘
I gotta hand it to ya. You have the knack for bringing the best of your sport down from the mountain and into everyone's life.
Phil has long been one of my absolute favorite riders, and it is seriously so awesome to finally see him shred my local bike park! \m/
I absolutely love Phil's videos.
Non stop riding and some impressive skills.
13:40 I'm just cruising down... Dude if I could cruise like this I'd fall in love with myself.
Practice makes perfect
I love watching your process of learning the best lines on the DH trail. And how you treat everyone as a friend. Solid dude.
So awesome watching you ride my home trails here in Cali! Awesome vid as always, Phil.
Yay! Skills with Phil video!!! Tell your neighbor Sarah "hi"
Who is sarah?
@@Hopinmypony its actually my wifes good friend and his neighbor.
Wow you are scarily good at riding Things blind, your First run down that jump line was intense
I have to say I love your videos, content and commentary. There is no BS just good riding and good information. Thank you for sharing.
Looks like you’ve rode a couple of times. Awesome. Keep em coming. Thanks
Tying the boundary ribbon was a boss move. I really appreciate your attitude in general, thanks man.
Totally in love with that jump trail, that thing is bangin! Cool that you linked up with Paul for some riding, he must have a jillion frequent flyer miles, lol. And thanks for the Berm Peak sneak peak, can't wait to see that. Good luck out there!
I can hear Paul the punter thinking "Phil's on another level, make that 3 other levels!"
"Just pretend I belong here just pretend I belong here..." xD
Phi,l going at warp speed and still noticing faster lines as you pass is why you can race the US open and the rest of us are happy to dream 😁 great vid .
16:25... Nice!!
Manual on the wall ride... That's dope
I really really like the long videos! Thank you so much Phil!
Wow, this was great. And it definitly didnt feel like 33 minutes. More like 3. Absolutely awesome. Keep posting such great videos to us!
“Water, where did you come from? How did you get there?”😂🤘
The manual on the wall ride is on 06:45
Good video Phil and about time. Unfortunately I’m out of work right now due to an accident and on workers comp. Your guys videos is what keeps me going. Not a lot of fun sitting around here. I look forward to the videos and I’m anxiously waiting for your next one!!! Keep them coming and keep shredding!!🤙🏻
Thanks for Adding us guys from Barbados in your video 🤘🏾. Appreciate the highlight💪🏾
I laugh whenever Phil says "what is you", gets me every time
Love your work, dude. And good on ya for re-attaching the tape!
I’ve watching a lot of your vids lately. I raced motocross for 15 years…broke my leg pretty bad when I was 22 and decided it was time to get serious with life. Still rode for fun until I was 40 and sold my bikes. 55 now, but miss it every day. I know this is very advanced riding but it looks like a LOT of fun! Might have to look into this sport.
So rad, and I have to say I do like taking a mid travel bike in over it's head, pretty fun to push a bike to it's limits!
phil...wow...you are blessed. Angels watching over you buddy. These videos are so enjoyable to watch. You are an Amazing rider!👍😊
if you present this guy with literally anything, he will immediately ride it with unreasonable speed on his enduro bike
Not unreasonable... for MTB Jesus.
Half bike half human - a Bikotaur
You did so well if you ask me . Feel sorry for the bike though 🤘 great 👍 one man well done 👍
19:32 when you put your chin down the gopro mic is picking up your heart beat.
Amazing riding man! Keep representing the 603!
Phil finished 13th in this race out of 80 riders. What an absolute monster!
Phil this is my first time watching you and your friends ride , all I can say is amazing what you guys do on a bike, keep up the great videos. Thanks an keep em coming. Ride safe .👍
This was super to watch! Thanx dude.
RON !!! That dude and his buddy came down for the North American Enduro Series event here in Eureka Springs!! Cool guys. I immediately recognized the jerseys! Phil...that manual on and off the wall rides was crazy. I had to back it up three times. Also...riding that blind, sending everything with a "what are you?" comment beforehand was hilarious. As always, SICK video and I cannot WAIT to see the rest of the series!
It still blows me away how insanely quick you are🤘🏻
Nice ride, Phil! Loved the bit with Lance at the end there.
That kid was a ripper, he rode those sections faster than any of the Pros I followed down it.
Great video Top riding kept me hooked for the full video Great insight to downhill riding
Awesome vid! Can't wait to see the race videos
Always stoked to see new stuff from Phil🤙
I like when popped up onto that log on the left side of the trail at like 5:48 !!
Your warm up is the trail that I think I can ride till I actually see what's on it and go back to the easier trials
That first manual over the wall ride was awesome!
19:59 holy shit I didn’t know that was a production model!! I thought Martyn Ashton has his custom made! That is so awesome that these are being built for the crowd!!
Loved that run down Party Wave.... Something for me to strive for
Love the video! Now you got me hungry for Seth’s video😂 Can’t wait to see what shenanigans you guys are up too😂
Hell yes Phil! Pary Wave/Westridge is the jam. We are from San Diego and ride there a lot. We were there the weekend before. Dry, dusty, rocky and sketchy...thats Summit. For reference, no braking that hill before the 2 wall rides gets you to about 40mph. Good times.
Wow Phil forgets his clutch just like me! Fun video! Excited to see what you and Seth got up to. 👍
Even your shadow is awesome to watch!
I live about 2 hours away from snow summit I head up there every summer and it’s always a blast and it’s good to see it get some attention
your video quality is just top, you got the cutting down.. very good flow and good perspective..
I was hoping you’d follow the adaptive bike down so we could see it in action.
I thought you typed adaptive bike clown :)
WOW! That was really intense
I just started watching your channel, love the content.
Subscribed because I've seen a few videos and this is definitely content for me.
Holysheeet this track is sickkk. never ridden anything like that. like a downhill-dirt jump combined. And his riding style got sauce xD
You manny'd the wall rides! I've been doing it all wrong. 🤩🤩
Love that place. You should come back. The westridge trial has huge jumps now
your "cruising" speed looks like free-fall to me :D
That bike that guy created was so cool! I saw a similar bike another man created for his girlfriend but it was two full size electric mountain bikes with a seat welded between them. He made it so his girlfriend could use it on mountain/offroad hikes.
I think of the biggest jumps at snow summit as an x games mega ramp and phill sees them as a curb. 😂 keep up the good work 😎
Baahhh, Paul’s walking frame😂
I wish you posted more often, your content is sooo good. Same goes for Seth lol
C G If he post mor often, his content won’t as got as now
I am sorry vor my bad English
@@mikahamers4400 we can understand it :). Just gotta try a bit harder lol 😂
Loepert Lol
Man I remember riding my GT RTS back in the 90's at Big Bear. They used to have this deal that if you owned a GT mountain bike that was worth more than $600.00 you'd get a free season pass for the lift. Granted I broke my RTS frame in 3 places behind the welds at the same time at Big Bear so it was kind of a blessing and a curse. We were heading to ride the back trails on the mountain and I stood up to pedal and the frame just collapsed. The breaks were so bad that as I was riding the lift back down the mountain with my bike, other people going up on the lift were offering me condolences in the form of, "man that sucks" and such.
Always killing it Phil!
Best MTB youtuber going around for sure!!
Right side was definitely a bad line...totally fudged your corner entry..lol...looks like a really fun flowy trail with some pretty interesting technical parts...good video Phil
It was so cool to see you there and ride with 🤟🏼🤟🏼
It’s interesting to see you on this trail, since I’ve seen it a bunch of time from Dylan Stark’s videos.
It's so surreal seeing you shred my home trails
i have a gt force like yours and my bike was making the same creaking sound and it turned out that the the bottom pivots closest to the bottom bracket had no grease in them.
mine had that aswell, its a problem on gt forces even the 2020s like mine
Riding one of those bikes is a dream!
I just had surgery and am off my bike for 8 weeks - thanks for the video ! Allows me to live thru you
"That thing bucks you..." *barely loses pace*
meanwhile I literally would've gone over the bars and exploded at that feature
That GT is such a beauty
Your videos are awesome! Keep it up!
my heart rate is rising just watching this!
"feels like I need a glass of water". Yeah, it's pretty dry this year. We need rain, all of our SoCal trails are loose and dusty.
Worth going out here just for one run looks mental fun 🤘
I watch a lot of dudes ride snow summit on RUclips but none as smooth as this one 👌
8:13
"I wanna ride that"
"Yeah.. okay well I'll see you around, buddy"
He definitely didn't wanna let you ride it. Lol.
In my opinion your the best rider alive
Cant wait to see your downhill bike
Makes me realize how good the trails are around here in Pacific nw.
You pick up lines I couldn't even see. Great video
Nice skills man! that was scary to watch :D
Best part of the video, when the handle fell off the luggage 🤣🤣🤣
I had a similar creaking with my bike and it ended up being a seized suspension pivot- under lateral stress from pedaling tension it would creak, but not when I wasn’t pedaling
