      Facts, even though they are one of the All-Time great teams. I’d take the 89’ Pistons against just about any team in history. They’re in my personal Top 5 teams. But I’m old school.
      I’m no particular order, the best teams I’ve ever seen are the following:
      89 Pistons
      86 Celtics
      87 Lakers
      96 Bulls
      01 Lakers
      I know I didn’t mention any team of the past 20 years but to me the teams these days, while extremely talented, couldn’t last a 7 game series with any of the teams I’ve mentioned - especially using the rules of the 80’s-90’s when basketball was played by tough ass men.

    It would almost seem as if the NBA would have burned all remaining footage of Jordan actually having a bad playoff game by now. MJ was no doubt the greatest, but Bird and Isiah's teams proved pretty decisively that no one player, even a young and/or prime MJ, could overcome a great TEAM, led by those 2 aforementioned all-time greats in there own right. MJ needed the right pieces and coach to finally take that next step into becoming a champion. Pippen, Grant, Paxon Etc. were those pieces, but were still a couple years away from being READY.

      My guy, Pippen averaged 9 points against the Pistons their first 2 go rounds 88 and 89, he upped his game in 90 to about 16, but went 1-10 in game 7 because of a “Migrane” if Jordan could’ve relied on him a LITTLE bit, they would’ve won, Jordan still averaged 30 this series.

      @envyops 8 месяцев назад

      @@_HunnidProof Nah. The Bulls lost the previous three away games in 90 and Pippen played in those. The story of that series is Pistons had home court and all seven games were home team blowouts. Pippen eventually cracked, but the Bulls destroyed the Pistons in Chicago that series. Home court meant everything.

    MJ was a little too passive in this game. I remember he tried to be a facilitator...had nine assists and only took eight shots. Bulls shot well, but had something like 25 turnovers. Can't win against a team as good as Detroit was being that careless with the ball. Definitely a missed opportunity here in hindsight. Pippen and Grant combined for just 11 points...simply not gonna get it done.

Sonics and Suns were both 60+ win teams and the Suns actually had the best record in the league. If they were bad or average, so were the Bulls.
