I remember the first time I saw Nate Wood. I had no idea who he was. My jaw was on the floor from his bass playing. The creativity, rhythmic variation, and insane ability to listen to the band blew me away. Then I saw him on drums and was like, yeah he'll be amazing but not as good as.....nope. He's not human. I can't wait to get deep into this bands music. This post is amazing. You all are so cohesive and this music is stunning.
That brummer is rather good.
Never saw before a drummer playing drums and base at the same time. This is crazy...
@@spasgeorgiev6909 Louis Cole, who Nate has worked with, sometimes plays drums and keyboard.
Really, wtf Nate? Is he even from this planet? For f*ck sake, he's a living legend.
Excellent editing, thanks for showing the genius of Nate Wood. They never cease to amaze. Nate Wood, a GOAT all the way.
Nate Wood is in a heavy trance. Holy shit.
the fact that i've seen him play live is just such a blessing. a different type of human being for sure
Like this - smooth, cool and harmonic. These guys have pretty subtle musical understanding and also understand how to create a groove by working together weaving their individual contributions into something greater.
"Drum and bass"
Nate
@@falsenotefest The one and only who kills at both. Nate dissects the vortex of musicality and expansive innovation. I hope to one day play with this amazing human being.
@@rafaellunamusic Right, wow would be great to have the level and the chance to
Quit cutting away from the drummer during his solos : D. Don’t need to see backing instruments so much during a solo
similarly, dont cut away from the sax when its ripping :D
still love your work!!
Holy shit this is incredible
Nate can literally beat you at music with one hand tied behind his back.
even better than that, with one hand on another instrument- which he's also beating you at.
Damn this was good. I was worried Nate was going to cut the drum solo from Drum Battle, but he ripped.
that's insane
Great musicianship and arrangements
good stuff
It seems Nate Wood ate Kaveh Rastegar
if I didn't have eyes I would have never known Nate was playing both parts.
It's like Pacman eating a power pellet. Gives him superhero abilities.
What happened to he??
Their outfits though!!!
Came here from The 80/20 drummer. WTH. Damn. Sure, I'll just put this here bass guitar on my lap and play drums. Oh yeah, I think I'll play bass too. WTF.
If you think that is impressive, check out threebody or Nate's side project fOUR.
siiiiick! those grooves damn son
Ok rhythm section impressed lol
Saxophonist Ben Wendel, not to be confused with Sam Gendel!
I mean i guess there's a proper explanation. Thats great.
fuck yes.
amazing guys :)
Aw yea
This band. Jeez. But Nate? Woof. It's not gimmicky. It's so ridiculously musical.
36:10 forrest gump cue
To be modern jazz this was surprisingly catchy, unlike other modern jazz this has actual rhythm 🤩 it goes a bit out in eccentric-land but it could be worse, really liking this
This kind of trend existed/continues to exist in certain areas of electronic music. I love and and hate it !
Still insalting just to one.
what happened to the previous bassist? jaja
Actually, it looks very uncomfortable: and the proof is that you know what I'm talking about.
it made me think " he must have great technique on the drums to not be fucking up his back by having the bass as well"
well i guess the drummer has 2 wages = 1 for drum 1 for bass

Never really her opinion is it
Vladimir Putin is one slamming’ drummer! Dayummmm boi
this drummer is the definition of weird flex but okay
Not you. Look art.
Kid, from what? Ah i seem to be older then most of you you would call that a kid. In anycase. Can she gone hopfully she wont attach to all the thing that benifit a person as if it where reqired for bilimic.
Still insulting just to one one very passive not really understand her place in this world or how another can snap and amuse a human doesnt guide a human if you dont understand something ive i have said as tyler Hb my name said before then dont admire never listening by always showing up.
College i dont know be more enthuseastic. Dress up less. Speak. If you want say something spesk to hinted catfish. Funny thing about steve carrell is thst he real couldnt say. His character none preverted. People go back to college. They dont play dress up. Hopefull ghost gone sorry you arent "fearless" oh sorry strings arent present oh sorry so freaky by just standing and reading something while typeing. Dot not dot not dot.
Cool - but i mean only having a half/half drum/bass is such a waste and a bit of a wank... If they had a full on drummer and bass player it would be way better, sorry guys - Great music though, i do like it - but it could have been so much more...
They did have a bassist (Kaveh Rastegar) until very recently. They decided to utilize Nate's insane musicianship instead of get a new bass player, and I personally think that's the most logical move for them after over a decade of listening to their music. It might look like a bit of a spectacle but it's about what best serves the music. It doesn't hurt that visually, it grabs people. Would you have known if you only listened and not watched?
@@Bebopopotamus What happened to Kaveh? No longer in the band?
Less mouths to feed, dude. Money's tough to come by as a musician.
@@BromeliadBro But they had a bass player before so it seemed to work fine then...
kind of disagree. i saw them live in seattle a couple years ago in this configuration when they were touring the Anti-Hero stuff and it was one of the most exciting shows that i've seen. as Nate explains the situation I can totally sympathize. It seems like a silly thing to criticize, just as I'd hope you wouldn't criticize an organ players "wanking" in an organ trio. Not having Kaveh anymore sucks but they still have a kick ass bassist and drummer.
