crazy... a few years watching this over and over. Its my favorite live session OF ALL. I enjoy the studio versions, but the sound on this recording is phenomenal!!
I have to admit... this IS the one video I come back to the most. There's something magical about this performance. Not the same with their studio albums.. this is insane! Hypnotic. The second one is good... but this one..... oh man...

i used to have the exact same silvertone guitar back in the 90s. that is such an interesting choice for this style of music. bold.
i saw them like 3 times in a small club in germany. the club is like a living room and seeing them performing was insane

i like how guitarist and saxofonist enjoy each others playing
so, i have been a musician (amateur) all my life.. playing guitar seriously from 9 years old.. 46 now.. and may instruments and singing etc.. anyway... ....KEXP has single handedly grown my music appreciation by 1000% percent.. and i have found all my NEW fav groups through this medium.. and seek shows and merchandise from these bands just to support.. such an awesome station.. best thing ever.. sheez.. it still just makes me want to move out of po dunk missouri in that direction..

@@chaussette1er interestingly enough, I most enjoy this when relaxing after a hard day's work - some of the passages are like floating in water, gliding through Icelandic volcano-scapes, warm fur-lined parka jackets and wild, windy, black beaches.
If I'd been listening to this after sitting on the sofa for hours smoking weed playing computer games, it would just be 4 dudes (albeit 4 terribly accomplished dudes) playing some jazz.
Hard work and skill recognises hard work and skill.
No Icelandic privilege here, just pure Iceland, and pure music.

Incredible dynamics, wonderful sequence and transitions, and some creative solos. This is a real gem!
I like how at 6:40 the buttery smooth sax bloke is just admiring the space mullet from mars guitarist like "im not sure what you are doing but me and my velvetness are approving" Also I like the Milka wrappers on that organ. Right at the top of bands I need to see live for me.

I've been watching all day long videos of KEXP this last month and ADHD is the band that has impressed me the most! I've listened to all their (self-titled) albums too! They are amaziiiing !!!

I just picked up a saxophone and started classes. When people ask me what kind of music I want to play, I did not have an answer that was better fitting than ADHD until now.

They pair a tame, contemplative atmosphere with some mind blowing shredding! I feel like the tension of the crazy guitar parts on Merkilegt followed by a return to the more relaxed theme of the song put me in a really alert but calm mood.
This set just does it on so many levels as to be not only inspiring but mind expanding on so many levels.Fantastic! :0)
