Melissa Bonny is one of the best female metal vocalists in the world, and stunningly beautiful as well. Ad Infinitum is an amazing band.

NEVER give up on Napalm... they have fostered/"allowed" so many collabs in the past 6 months They seem to be giving their artists free-reign, and we should all applaud them for that.

The two female warriors going at is with war-axes are members of Feuersachwanz as well : Jenny Dehl and uh, dammit, how can I forget the name of a beautiful redhead??? I hate being 63 !!
Anyway, Jenny also owns a filmography company that shoots these videos... multi-talented she is, as she plays the harp as well, and probably a multitude of instruments.
I was actually looking up Thomas while this video was uploading, wanted to know what band he was with, or if he was Solo. Napalm has been LEGIT AF FOREVER! I don't think we ever gave up, just forgot.
They have collaborated before: Melissa Bonny featured on "Ding" (studio version and online live stream "11OA"), on the live stream concert "Die Letzte Schlacht" Thomas Winkler aka Angus McFife (ex-Gloryhammer) featured on I See Fire (Ed Sheeran cover) and Alea der Bescheidene (Saltatio Mortis) featured on Das Elfte Gebot and Hauptmann und Maid, the latter one also features the two bagpipe players of Saltatio Mortis who also feature on Schildmaid (all of those the live versions from Die Letzte Schlacht too).
By the way, are you aware of the Hypa Hypa cover by Saltatio Mortis?
We are soon going to do the HYPA-THON and watch all the other versions of Hypa Hypa. That might be out next recording day.

Lord Of The Rings already belongs to another German power metal band - Blind Guardian. ;)
There are five singers, two from the band (the bagpipe player and the guy with the chain mail headgear) and three guests from other bands.
We actually had checked out our second FEUERSCHWANZ last night on our Twitch Stream. It was DING, and I had noticed the guy with the Chain mail headgear singing right away, and had figured out that it wasn't just the guy with the Long Hair that sings for them. DING was super fun, and I am LOVING FEUERSCHWANZ! After last night we want to check out a whole lot more, so please feel free to suggest some for us :)
@@CaptainFaceBeard The guy with the long hair is Prince R Hodenherz III (real name Benjamin Metzner) and he is also in the band D'Artagnan, another great folk metal band. The chainmail guy is Captain Feuerschwanz (real name Peter Henrici). For Feuershwanz (meaning "Firetail"), try "Meister Der Minne"
The "Viking Sting" is Alea from Saltatio Mortis, yet another similar band. For them, i would suggest "The Dragonborn Comes", their take on the Skyrim theme, featuring Lara loft.

ok so "metal Sting" is Alea from Saltatio Mortis - another super awesome band, Melissa Bonny sings for Ad Infinitum and Dark Side Of The Moon, Thomas Winkler used to sing for GloryHammer. And Feuerschwanz's new album is my no1 album of 2021.. a must have, the teasers at the end was for their songs "Memento Mori" and "Umtod In Drachenboot"

I am planning to check all of the other bands featuring in this song, and even more bands related to that. We had recently listened to an Ad Infinitum song, and want to hear a lot more, as well as Warkings.

In Extremo (Latin for At the Edge; abbreviated InEx or IE) is a German Medieval metal band originating from Berlin. The band's musical style combines metal with Medieval traditional songs, blending the sound of the standard rock/metal instruments with historical instruments (such as bagpipes, harp, hurdy-gurdy and shawm). @@CaptainFaceBeard In Extremo is very good and so is Subway to Sully. They started this whole folk metal row in Germany and now we have a lot of excellent bands in that genre.

One small thing, though. You were right about Eluveitie originally, actually. They have had female singers since their early days, but they are by no means the lead on the majority of their songs. Chrigel Glanzmann the male growling vocalist (and multi-instrumentalist) is the main vocalist on a vast majority of their songs, but they do have a good amount of songs with both vocalists prevalent and several others with the female singer of the time (Anna Murphy pre 2016, and Fabienne Erni from 2017 - present) taking the lead. I just want to make sure you are not going in with the wrong expectations and possibly getting disappointed. Either way, great band!
Thank you for clearing that up. I wasn't sure, and someone had said the opposite that it was mostly a female singer (that was before I started doing videos a few years back). Now I know what to expect. The person who told me that, I don't think knew the band all that well. They had said it was mostly female singer, and they were Folk Metal. I knew it was Melissa Bonny, we had checked out an Ad Infinitum video, it was so good. Didn't realize this was a cover though, it might have been after Heather stopped listening to them, she probably would have recognized it I think. Such a great song!

you absolutely need this song: FEUERSCHWANZ ft. Melissa Bonny - Ding (SEEED Cover)
The Hurdy Grudy that was used in this song is a modern one that can be hooked up to an amp. The lead singer Alea Der Bescheidene from Saltio Mortis filmed his parts of the video after the main shoot because he was under the weather when the main shoot happened. That twangy instrument you heard at the beginning of the song is a jaw harp.
On December 31st 2021 FEUERSCHWANZ released a New Album called Memento Mori. The one they posted to RUclips is the Deluxe Edition album. They have their version of Warriors of the World United and maybe another copy and they have instrumental versions of songs from this album. The new album is awesome.

Thanks for the info, glad you liked the video. I want a Hurdy Gurdy, such a pirate instrument! I have a Saltio Mortis song pinned to take a listen too, be awesome to hear him on his own. The mouth harp on the other had scares the hell out of me, if you don't know what you are doing with them you can cut your mouth really bad. Part of me is glad our channel isn't huge, if I had a lot of spare money, I would buy so many weird instruments. Hahaha. It's for that reason that Heather is happy we don't have a large music store that rents instruments here. I'd come back with Bag Pipes and all sorts of strange things.
@@CaptainFaceBeard I know of another cool song that uses the Hurdy Grudy a lot in it. It is the main theme song for Black Sails is an awesome song. The composer for this song is Bear McCreary. He did most of the Soundtrack for the show. It was a pirate show based out of Nassau.

The third guy is the singer of Saltatio Mortis. You two should definitely check out their version of Eskimo Callboy's Hypa Hypa. You'll love it.🙂
We actually totally did. We did a reaction to every one of the versions of Hypa Hypa and they just have to be edited and uploaded. Though we just got Memberships opened up on the channel, and I think it might be exclusive for 30 days. We also checked out My Mother Told me from Slatatio Mortis, the video is blocked right now, but hopefully will be public soonish.

I figured it would have to be, it just makes more sense for it to be plugged in. Especially in a band that has 2 (?) Bagpipe players. They are so damn loud. Every mic on that stage probably picks up those bagpipes.

The enlisch translation of her band name would be "Johanna from the Shagwillow" and yes it is meant to be as slippery as it sounds.

Walther von der Vogelweide (* 1170; † 1230) was the greatest German lyrical poet before Goethe.
Napalm and Nuclear Blast are the two biggest Metal labels, AFM Records has many more. Visiting the bands there is exciting.
We have gotten through a few of the AFM bands. I think everyone we have listened to so far I have said is my "New Favorite band".

Heh, think the closest we got to proper metal hitting musical scenes would be Jim Steinmen's bat out of hell, but that's more classic rock if anything. They did a lord of the rings yin a decade or sae ago, only thing is it turned out as you'd expect, one or two songs worth a listen, but nothing close to as powerful as this stuff here.
