IIRC that was the plan before Wolverine: Origins tanked. They were all set to do a movie called Magneto: Origins, but they changed their minds and shoved what they'd already written for that movie into First Class. That's why there isn't as much focus on the actual students for most of the movie.
This is one the best scenes in cinema, full stop. The tension, the comfort the Nazis are now living in, Eric’s slow playing them, knowing he’s in full control. Fasbender’s performance is so perfect here. In one scene they showcase Magneto’s whole mentality.
Respectfully, I might change your opinion by saying that Villa Gesell doesn't have mountains, the director used a yellow filter for the scene, and the bartender yelled the word 'cabron!', which is more common in Mexico.

I am German, 62 years old and can only say that far too many of the perpetrators (perpetrators of all kinds) were able to escape justice. Most people continued to live normally in Germany, as if nothing had ever happened. All I can say about the film is that there should have been many more such visits. There was and is no discussion with Nazis.

Magneto and Doctor Doom are two “correct” villains. They are fairly justified in their actions but tend to go overboard. You can very easily see people falling into their mindsets. Humanity is an enemy for Magneto and Doom would destroy everything to protect Latveria or save his mother’s soul. This is a 10/10 scene in general cinema.
As a native argentinian here, to be honest, Villa Gessell is a seaside resort founded by a german inmigrant way before ww2.. And that landscape that shows in the begining, is more like a city called Bariloche, in a province called Neuquen, next the Andes mountains. Bariloche was and still is very famous for having a german school and close ties with the german community and Germany itself. It sheltered a german war criminal called Erich Priebke.
Magneto was a homicide Survivor and this greatly shaped his perspective of the world end of our society. How could one ever forgive or forget something like the Holocaust? 😢RIP to all of the victims of the Holocaust and peace upon the survivors ❤
The Holocaust is why magneto hates humankind but ironically now preaches about the superior mutant race and how they shall inherit the earth that is rightfully theirs
The Holocaust triggered his hatred but mankind's crimes against mutants was what drove him to build his own legacy, to unite all mutant brothers and sisters under one rule: the brotherhood. A supremacy over all humans.
The Holocaust is why Israel hates humankind but ironically now preaches about the superior jewish race and how they shall inherit the earth that is rightfully theirs
Simon Kinberg proved that he can do a better job as a producer than as a writer In fact, he was the one who pitched Matthew Vaughn to direct this movie, after seeing KICK-ASS
Such an excellent portrayal of a villain. So completely sympathetic in his quest for vengeance, until you realize he’s going too far with it and his trauma has taken his humanity away from him.
And whats worse is he knows there's good humans. For instance, in one of the games he tells Captain America that he's always been grateful to him for releasing him from a concentration camp as a child.
This Movie 🎥 has an All around Exceptional Cast. No Doubt about they're Talent! But Michael Fasbender as a Young Magneto is AMAZING! Did Anyone feel Bad for them NAZIS!?? Not Me!!😂
Sigh. Okay literally and literarily It IS Frankenstein's Monster, with Victor never explicitly giving his creation a name. However while to Victor he is "creature", "fiend", "spectre", "dæmon", "wretch", "devil", "thing", "being", and "ogre", the monster (who canonically never gets a first name though Victor considers Adam, early on) calls Victor father, and honestly considers himself to be Frankenstein's son. So Contextually he IS Frankenstein as much as the scientist is.
