Ben Metzner: "I got a high note for ya!"
Angus McFife: "Hold my beer."
The girl(Melissa Bonny, Ad Infinitum), guy in a green costum(former singer of Gloryhammer) and guy with a sidecut (Saltatio Mortis) guest singers. They pretty much told Melissa "we want you on that wall". No tricks or greenscreen involved. The two girls fighting r actually a permanent inclusion in the band and the redhead is also a harpist in a band called Dark side of the moon with Melissa.
and the guitarrist of feuerschwanz Hans Platz aka hans der aufrechte...
The redhead, Jenny, aka Mieze Myu is not only the harpist in Dark side of the moon. She's also the producer of many of Feuerschwanz's videos.
Oh come on ... The band is called Saltatio Mortis, the singers name is Alea 😉
@@Gallowglas True. But you can't deny the original description could have been a lot clearer. Mentioning two guests by name and one by band. You can't blame someone unaware for making this mistake.
Hail mighty Manowar!!!
Brothers of Metall
Feuerschwanz are German and started as kind of a fun/parody band with their Medieval Rock sound, but got more and more serious in the last couple of years and switched their style to more Metal than Rock. This fantastic Manowar cover is actually a colab initiated by Feuerschwanz and features singers of four different bands. The featured singers in order of appearence are:
Prinz R. Hodenherz III aka Ben Metzner - singer of Feuerschwanz and co-founder of dArtagnan (German Folk Rock band)
Hauptmann Feuerschwanz aka Peter Henrici - singer and co-founder of Feuerschwanz
Melissa Bonny - founder and singer of Ad Infinitum (Swiss/German Symphonic Metal band) and former singer of Rage of Light (Swiss Trance Metal band)
Alea der Bescheidene aka Jörg Roth - leadsinger of Saltatio Mortis (German Medieval Rock band)
Angus McFife aka Thomas Winkler - former leadsinger of Gloryhammer (British/Swiss Power Metal band)
Also I would like to recommend a few songs by Feuerschwanz:
"Metfest" (Eng.: "Meadfest"), "Die Hörner hoch" (Eng.: "Horns up"), "Maleus Maleficarum", "Meister der Minne" (Eng.: Master of courtly love"), "Hier kommt Alex" (Eng.: "Here comes Alex") another cover originally by the popular German Rock- and Punkrockband Die Toten Hosen, "Ding" (Eng.: "Thing") Seeed cover feat. Melissa Bonny. Seeed is a successful German dancehall/reggae band and had a huge hit with "Ding". Feuerschwanz took it and "metallized" it a bit.
Feuerschwanz lyrics are usually in German but they did some covers in English as additions to their latest albums. One of these is "I see Fire" originally by Ed Sheeran which they performed live at a virtual show featuring Angus McFife : ruclips.net/video/omeQqHsg-dY/видео.html .
So much this, I was going to make an inferior Version to this comment, there is no need you have said it masterfully and a great recommended list of songs to check out... I would add Untot im Dracchenboot (think that roughly translates to undead on the dragonboat) to the list
The next songs you should react to from all the participants here:
Saltatio Mortis = My Mother told me
Melissa Bonny (Ad Infinitum) =Unstoppable
Thomas Winkler (Gloryhammer) = Hootsforce
Feuerschwanz & Melissa Bonny = Ding
Cheers!
agreed and for a pure feuerschwanz try "schubsetanz"
@@Metzwerg74 the black metal version pls to :D
Add "Loki" by Saltatio Mortis too and their version of Hypa Hypa.
You have to know the song is a cover of a Mannowar song. The spoken like beginning is a tribute to the original song before they transition into their own styles. I like this version better than the original.
For an astonishing voice you'd listen to beast in black with "blind and frozen". 😍
This is originally a Manowar song, where Manowar sings this song to honor their Fans from all over the World.
Saltatio Mortis 'My mother told me' is amazing Viking awesomeness, and you'll love the costumes.
Saltatio Mortis 'The Dragonborn comes ft Lara Loft' is brilliant too.
Feuerschwanz- 'Im untot Drachenboot', 'Memento Mori', 'Das elfte Gebot' are amazing songs.
As Infinitum has a great range of songs. Melissa Bonny is my fave metal frontwoman ATM even beating Floor. 'Unstoppable', 'Marching on Versaille', 'See you in hell', 'Live before you die', 'Afterlife'.....so many good songs.
You might be right on the pronounciation thing, all of them do have obvious accents when they are speaking English.
The original material from Feuerschwanz is usually in German (with some latin thrown in on a few songs) but for the deluxe editions of the last two albums they recorded a bonus disc with seven cover songs each, from various genres (although mostly rock & metal) in German, English and, most recently, Romanian (2004 summer dance hit Dragostea Din Tei, originally by O-Zone).
They've collaborated before: Melissa Bonny (she is from the French speaking part of Switzerland, her main band is the Swiss-German symphonic metal band Ad Infinitum, she was recurring guest vocalist for power metal band Warkings and main vocalist for Swiss melodic death metal band Rage Of Light) featured on their cover of Ding (original by German based multi-national reggae/dancehall/hip-hop group Seeed), Swiss singer Thomas Winkler (aka Angus McFife, former vocalist of the British symphonic power metal band Gloryhammer) featured on the live version of their cover of I See Fire (original by Ed Sheeran) and different members of Saltatio Mortis (in this case represented by vocalist Alea der Bescheidene) collaborated with the band on various occasions.
It is a band, but they are using guest singers from other bands. They are German, but the female singer (Melissa Bonny) is from Switzerland.
Great reaction to a legendary metal song covered by Feuerschwanz & friends. To me this is one of the rare occasions where a cover surpasses the original. Nothing against Eric Adams, but the different voices featured in this video add so much to it.
My memory is crap and Anastasia does not know yet. What band did this song originally? I know that I know but I just cannot remember right now (and I will definitely be kicking myself if you answer). I hate being me right about now... :P
@@jamescurfman3284 Manowar, album Warriors of the World, 2002
@@2Ahto Thank You! :)
They are, indeed, the Warriors of the World (of Funny Metal!)
This version is gorgeous musically, just one question about lyrics - if warriors of the world unite, who will they fight?
Шикарный обозреватель, лайк ей, нравится что ей ей нравиться стимпанк))) Правда в в клипе только один вторичный так одет))
Great work of react! Keep it up and go on! Greetings from Germany! 😎🤘🏻
In addition to what everyone already suggested I'd also suggest *Jenny of Oldstones* by *The Darkside of the Moon* which includes someone from everyone.. Melissa Bonny (Ad infinitum, also here), Hans Platz, the guitarist with the posh top hat, the lady seen on the Hurdy Gurdy here on the HARP, the drummer of Amaranth... it's a veritable axis of Euro-metallers coming down from the northern reaches of Scandinavia through Germany down to Switzerland... actually it's missing an Italian, then it would be truly complete ;).^^
Best regards
Raoul G. Kunz
The harp lady in "The Dark Side of the Moon" is actually Jenny (aka Mieze Myu), the red-head having an axe fight with her blonde colleague here.
The bass was recorded by an Italian ;-)
@@HansPlatz ... wow... good sir, I *highly respect* your skills and *absolutely salute your style* ! o.O
And yes, that's the power metal north-south line^^.
I'm very sorry I did not name Jenny Diehl (Mieze Myu) because I felt it would be inconsiderate to just go with the first name and nickname... I'd also have to look up the names of everyone I did not name mention (Morten Løwe Sørensen [right?]) and I did insufficient ad hoc research way back when...a day ago...
let's be vaguely appropriate:
SHAME! *bing, bing*
Best regards
Raoul G. Kunz
For all the Melissa Bonny fans here, if you haven't already done, you should also watch her reactions to "Batmetal" together with Mr. Rock N Roll on his channel, they are just so fun to watch 😄
And off course check out everything from "Ad Infinitum" and "The Dark Side of the Moon" 😀🤘🏼
2:25 There are no actors. ALl of them are either members of Feuerschwanz or one of the three guest vocalists: Alea who is the singer from Saltatio Mortis, another German band; Thomas Winkler, the former singer of Gloryhammer; and of course Melissa Bonny, the singer of Ad Infinitum and The Dark Side of the Moon (a super group of sourts; the other members of this project are also members of Feuerschwanz and the drummer of Amaranthe).
This was of course a cover version of the Manowar song Warriors of the World (which you of course also should check out if you are unfamiliar with Manowar) - is you liked this you should also check out more from Feuerschwanz and also Saltatio Mortis, Ad Infinitum and The Dark Side of the Moon.
Feuerschwanz and Saltatio Mortis are indeed German bands, while Melissa Bonny and Thomas Winkler are swiss.
7:48 Green screen? Why should they use a green screen when we have literally thousands of castle ruins all scattered all over Europe? This is neither green screen nor a studio set, this is just a ruin they chose as a filming location. Melissa Bonny was asked about standing on that wall and she wasn't afraid about the height at all (makes sense - being swiss she grew up in the mountains) however it was January and freezing cold.
12:09 That pronounciation of Feuerschwanz is pretty good.
You really need to check out more Feuerschwanz (Foyer-Sh-wanz), their new album is my favourite album of 2021.. not a single dud song on the album.. "Memento Mori" is simply sublime! Other outstanding tracks: Ding, Meister Der Minne, Das Elfde Gebot, I see Fire, Metfest, Malleus Maleficarum, Hier kommt Alex, Schubsetanz (original & Black metal version), Untot im Drachenboot, Ultima Nocte, Drogstea Din Tei & Die Hörner hoch.
This is a Manowar cover. They sing in German usually with a super party vibe and loads of humor. I love this band (as well as Saltatio Mortis and Ad Infinitum) to bits. Thanx for doing this. BTW your pronunciation of Feuerschwanz is spot-on!
OH! Manowar! Thank You! My memory is crap, I could not remember, though I knew that I knew it!
My favorite reaction to my favorite cover of my favorite song! If you haven't reacted to Manowars Warriors Of the World United ...PLEASE DO!!!!!
Feuerschwanz is a Medieval German Metal Band. Love Ding and Untot im Drachenboot. The female singer, Melissa Bonny, is fantastic. Her main band is Ad Infinitum and everything they do is great. Recommend Unstoppable and Afterlife. She also is in a side project with several members of Feurschwanz called Dark Side of the Moon. Checkout Jenny of Oldstones which is a cover of a song from Game of Thrones. Last to get some of her harsh vocals checkout Warkings where she is the Queen of the Dammed. Recommend Sparta and ODIN's Sons. Angus McFife (Thomas Winkler, dark short hair) was the lead singer of the band Gloryhammer. Recommend song Gloryhammer, Unicorn Invasion of Dundee, and Hootsforce. He is also is guest singer in Nanowar of Steel's Valhalleluga. Alea der Bescheidene is the lead singer of Saltatio Mortis, German folk metal band. Recommend My Mother Told Me which I think is 9th century Norse but best known from the show Vikings. They also have an awesome cover of Eskimo Callboy's Hypa Hypa.
This is a (great) cover version of Manowar. You should check them out if you haven't yet,m Eric Adams has crazy range (although, in this song, it does not show much).
Feuerschwanz is a real great german Band, and i hope so that i can see them this Year live on the holy Ground of Wacken Open Air with this great Song :)
Hans, the guitarist( the guy with your favourite costume) also has an amazing custom body guitar he plays in video for the song "Untot in Drachenboot". I'll not spoil it, it's better to show than tell. :P
There is also a slew of reactions to do with the bands and people involved in this:
Feuerschwanz - Ultima Nocte, Untot in Drachenboot, I See Fire(live w/ Angus McFife); oh yeah, and a very recent cover of Dragosta din tei(Numa Numa song)
d'Artagnan(the long haired singer's other band) - Feste Feiern, C'est la Vie
Saltatio Mortis - My mother told me, Hypa Hypa(cover, and a rabbithole of reactions as there is about 7 versions in different genres from different bands)
I don't really listen to Gloryhammer or Ad Infinitum, so I only got one song for each - Hootsforce for Gloryhammer, and Afterlife for Ad Infinitum(features Nils Molin, singer from two bands I do listen to)
i love you..nothing more to say. to see your reactions just make my days better
Dark side of the moon for Melissa Bonny, her cover of "Jenny of the old stones". Shows of far more of her abilities, imo.
You mentioned your fear of heights : A very natural self-preservation technique... no wonder none of your ancestors died early.
Melissa Bonney has mentioned in an interview that she had 10 years of training in gymnastics. ( xESOqK7dph4?t=965 ) This can give a person a much more stable base, and certainly better balance. You can see the background in her arm movements. I only spent 2 years in dance and fencing (I have a major balance problem due to many ear infections as a kid) but I found myself loosening up my shoulders/elbows and wrist after watching her.
.... but I agree.... no Castle Walls for me, either.
I do not fly nearly as well as I plummet.
Greetings and Love from Germany. Well, i prefer the original by Manowar. But i like it because of their style...All Hail, MANOWAR..
I do prefer the original Manowar version but love this version as well. The DnD video is damn good to. lol.
I love this song, really liked xour reaction as well. If you would like to do more Feuerschwanz, I would recommend their version of "Ding". It is mostly in German but really fun and the video kinda tells the story anyway :)
And it shows more of Melissa Bonny which you would not expect from this song.
Fun Fact: No Greenscreen or Safety-Mechanics on the "Cliff-shot" you mentioned ;)
real castle ruin and melissa bonny is standing on the actual wall. watched an interview where she said she froze her ass off in filming
Check out their version of Ding
Germany have a huge Base of Medival / Rock / Folk Bands look the Videos
from SUBWAY TO SALLY - Veitstanz (2014 Version) (Live) or Saltatio
Mortis - My mother told me (Official Music Video) or In Extremo - Liam
("Der Freitag" - Live von der Loreley Freilichtbühne) and many more
The guy with the full beard is Alea from the german band Saltatio Mortis.
The guy in the green leather Armor is Angus McFife, former frontman of the band Gloryhammer
And the girl singing is the highly talented Melissa Bonny from Ad Infinitum
The Rest are all members of the german band Feuerschwanz, even the two girls fighting..
If you enjoyed Melissa Bonnys singing i would highly recommend to you AD INFINITUM - Marching on Versailles (ruclips.net/video/9Ugq3ZBNEIM/видео.html), so you will find out about her full potential... also a great song.
Great reaction! You should definitely react to songs by every single one of the guest musicians! I'm not even gonna post a list here since other commenters here already did a great job in providing you suggestions :D Just be sure you DON'T miss Ad Infinitum (Melissa's band)!!
You have to know the song is a cover of a Mannowar song. The spoken like beginning is a tribute to the original song before they transition into their own styles. I like this version better than the original.
No green screen behind. There is a video on youtube of the recording of this video. And yes I also love the ending when all of the singers really are opening up...
This is the best cover of Manowars classic Warriors of the world I have heard. And yes, they are German, except for Melissa who is Swiss, but afaik living in Denmark.
You should check out Melissa Bony in:
RAGE OF LIGHT - Twilight Of The Thunder God (AMON AMARTH COVER)
Melisas new band is Ad Infinitum is also great.
She is engaged to the drummer of Amaranthe, whos female singer Elize Ryd tried out for Nightwish, but was deemed to young at the time. And Amaranthe is recording in the same studio as Sabaton, at least in the cover they did on Sabatons 82nd all the way which Amaranthe performed together with Sabaton on their performance on Oslo. Elize Ryd also performed with Kamelot previously, together with Alissa White-Gluz and Tommy Karevik, and helped Nightwish out during the Denver debacle. (And Kamelot is also a great band...)
I recomend Amaranthe as well, they have three vocalists:
Amaranthe - Digital World (Official Video)
Amaranthe - Helix
Amaranthe - Drop Dead Cynical
Amaranthe - Amaranthine
AMARANTHE - STRONG feat. Noora Louhimo (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)
Thomas Winkler (ex-Angus McFife) is Swiss too. From the German-speaking part, whereas Melissa is from the French-speaking part.
Hi Luna how are you? can I sugest Dark side of the Moon Band, Jenny of oldstones?
You will love it 😉
Enjoy

This is very good song. Have you seen Manowar's original of this song?
Jinjer also is at Napalm records.
Feuerschwanz - "Ding" cover featuring melissa bonny next please
IF THE OPERA WAS LIKE THIS I WOULD GO TO THE OPERA.
I am a person with a strong fear of heights but I have rather little of it when standing on walls like this. (we have plenty of such castles around here)
I don't really know the reason. Those walls are quite wide and feel like ordinary ground. I often get more of a scare when I see someone else step up there but have little problems when I do that myself.
Even though I like catfighting women, the axes were bit overkill...😁 That was filmed real castle ruins (with fans, who were xtras). Of course you would climb that wall "omnia pro arte" (all for art) Anastasia?
If it sounds good to you, you might want to listen to the following.
"Soltatio Mortis - My Mother Told Me"
"The Dark Side of The Moon - Jenny Of Odstones" - featuring Melissa Bonny and others from Feuerschwanz.
And anyway, from Feuerschwanz, Soltatio Mortis and Ad Infinitum (Mellisa's band).
BTW: The castle (from Germany) wasn't that high, it's on a hill, but the wall Melissa is standing on is max. 4-5 meters high, there is a "Making Of" video in addition. ;-)
You are right - the song is epic and catchy, but I have a feeling you are not familiar with an original track by Manowar... and I also not sure you realize its a cover )
Feuerschwanz and saltatio mortis are from germany and melissa bonny is from switzerland and thomas is from switzerland. Too
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
The Original is by Manowar.
Hold my Angus Mcfly
🌛❤️🌜
you must look for more feuerschwanz songs^^ i prefer "Ding"
You should react to ultima nocte, which is also one of the songs on their new album. One of my favourites tbh
React to Liliac- Mars (Live in Cummings GA) or Dear Father.
Everyone in the band are German or Swiss.
Watching A reaction to this for the umptennth time and THIS EXACT ONE for the 2nd time, I would recommend you reacting to a relatively more recent video from Feuerschwanz: Bastard von Asgard ruclips.net/video/YB7KVEvz3H8/видео.htmlsi=VpOCTsmpxlLtRlOV
There they feature only one (female) person from another band. And it is not a cover. Have a look! I think it may be worth while!
btw: you nailed the band name!
Привет из России
Feuerschwanz - "Ding" or Ad Infinitum - "Unstoppable".... thank me later 😉
Please, look at the band that created this song. Not this one, because Eric Adams stays in a speech singing register practically the whole time. He is one of the greatest of all time, with a full four octaves of range available at will. In Call to Arms he hits fifth and second octave notes before the the first verse is done! Also know for, in Elizabeth's words, his pristine pronouciation. All these singers, especially Ben Metzer and Tom Winkler are very obviously influenced by him, this is a tribute, not just a cover, and it shows.
For a Manowar reaction, go for Heart of Steel, and no, I have no hesitation in recomending a performance with Eric past 60 years old. Flawless technique... ruclips.net/video/zlCqgQMjuNw/видео.html
P.s. Next by Feuershwanz, I'd say Untot im Drachenboot. ruclips.net/video/zBRquLkjmf4/видео.html
😂😂 you heard about 5% of what Melissa can do….. go check out her band Ad Infinitum or Dark side of the moon or collabs she did.
Один из участников этого видео есть в этом клипе. Думаю, Вам понравится))

Well its hard to see some band cover Manowar ...
even f they do a good Job ... this song can never reach te original
Is easy to understand cause they follow Eric Adams singing ( is a cover of Manowar)
No, they don't... They just speak good English, as many in Germany do by now. And it's there own version of this song!
It is not a modern take . It is a steampunk aesthetic, just as the guy with the top Hat. It is aesthetique in the style of renesanse- 1800'' era, aka top hats, trench coats, exquisite/elaborate designed clothes. So it is not 2 different eras clashing together. It is its own thing.
Anastasia my dear, not only are you beautiful, but those legs.... Mouthwatering.. 🤤😍
Fun fact: The blond guy with the beard (Jörg Roth/ "Alea der Bescheidene" from Saltatio Mortis) wasn't filmed at the same time and place as the rest of them due to Covid. But the edit makes it seem as he is right there.
And this is a metal anthem since 2002 when Manowar released it. 😁
Not because of Covid. They said he was in the hospital because of acute hearing loss, but recovered sufficiently later so he could be filmed separately. But speaking of Covid, the two Feuerschwanz singers (the one with the long hair also playing the bagpipe and the one with the chain coif) actually did have Covid a few weeks before this was filmed, but got away with mild symptoms because they were vaccinated.
@@imrehundertwasser7094 I thought it was restrictions or something like that that kept him from being on location. Thanks for clearing that up. 👍👍
You spelled the band name correctly. Feuerschwanz is a parody of a folk metal band. Most of the time they don't take the music as seriously as they do here.
I think you mean she said / pronounced it correctly, which she did indeed. Feuerschwanz started out as a total party / parody band, but for several years now they've gravitated more and more towards metal and are less of a medieval / folk rock band now. The fun / party aspect is more apparent in their older songs.
@@imrehundertwasser7094 Well, they've gotten older and more experienced, but not more serious and don't want to be.
The song is cool, but too much teen to me.🤘
i loved your reaction, please check the original from manowar
All Hail Manowar!!
Awkward beeing lectured by Simeone who Is absolutly clueless this Is just a cover of the legendary Manowar.
Not a real metal band, party metal - just clowns. Boring music and terrible lyrics.
