Ok guys! A bit of an update on the settings. I started using ISO 100~400, which is working out pretty good, and in camera body hypersmooth is now OFF. Then use your widest settings with no crop 4:3 / 8:7. this way Hypersmooth PRO is enabled in reel steady.
There's one thing about GoPros a lot of people don't understand: the lens is a prime lens. Any "zooming" is actually just in-camera cropping. Always use the widest setting possible, and then Reelsteady to correct the distortion. If you want your footage narrower, just crop in post.
This is a very informative video for everybody to learn. I'm looking forward to your new Spyder. Such gorgeous color correction you did in your real estate footages. My advanced tip for using Log/Flat/GP-Log with multiple rooms of different lighting is to use keyframe to apply separate colour grading. Transition will begin while you enter different room. Great example is to go across from interior to exterior or way back.
You definitely have some smooth rates and great quality over all :) What made you choose 4K at 60fps over 5K at 24fps ? With 4K at 60fps, I can add smooth slow motion, but there’s a slight drop in quality. Shooting in 5.3K at 30fps gives a higher resolution, allowing for more flexibility with cropping and reframing while boosting overall image quality. It’s a tough call, as each has its advantages. Should I go with 4K at 60fps or 5.3K at 30fps ? and I need to find the right compromise.
Oh hey! Yes it’s because for those paid fly through gigs, I need it for the slow motion in post. Sometimes I might fly a little too fast or I just want to slow it down a bit here and there and it’s better to be smooth. The audience is usually watching these real estate videos on their phone anyway so quality and detail doesn’t matter as much. I’m definitely going to shoot 5k 30 if it’s just a fpv cinematic video like flying over a mountain for sure. I’ve tried 24 but I only prefer that for non fpv stuff, like shooting people and events . My buddy did 5k 30 and the results is amazing after exporting to 4K! Gonna try it for sure someday.. but I’ve been sticking more to just using the o3.. I’ve lost too many GoPros with long range fpv :/ it’s getting expensive to have both 😂
Got it! Thanks for your reply! I’m currently editing a long FPV one-take shot for a resort, which will most likely be featured on their website and RUclips. I decided to shoot in 60fps, just like you did, and I’m glad I did because it allowed me to slow down certain parts where I was flying too fast. However, I’m a bit disappointed with the quality. That’s the big compromise 😅. I’m starting to think the ideal setup might be 5.3K at 30fps, paired with a flawless flight. That said, it’s definitely more challenging and doesn’t offer the same flexibility as 60fps, especially when creating content for websites or RUclips. But I agree with you, if it’s for Instagram reels or TikTok, 30fps works perfectly fine ! Cheers !
@divematics for sure! Hmmm Maybe I’ll try out too and just fly slower and speed up if necessary only. My P3c frame gives greater control during slow speeds because of its adjustable cg so it shouldn’t be an issue hehe.
I just realised that I replied to you with my other account 😅 I’m using the Cinelog 25 and 35, and I get good control at low speeds too, but you never know when you might need to slow things down! In the end, I’d rather prioritize quality over a brief moment of slow motion.
very nice! What do you usually charge for a fly through like this usually & do you target real estate agents or companies? Video on how to get started with little real estate gigs would be great
Hey, great questions. I'm still introducing this to my local market. It's not very commonly used. I charge reasonably because it's sort of a new concept. Between $200 ~ $300 is a good number for a 2 bedroom. I'm only there for literally 30 minutes and I got the shot, and editing / processing the final video, I'm very efficient. Only takes me around an hour! There's not much editing to do in a 1 take. Just speed ramping and colour, maybe some titles. So.. perhaps a 2 hour job total when you are fast. No at the moment I don't target anyone or advertise. I already had a foot in the door for 13 plus years shooting photography and video for existing real estate agents. It all starts with, "hey can I try this out?" (obviously I do it for free because I want to learn) They always say yes because they trust me. You can also ask your friends that are realtors if you can fly at their listing, at the end of the day they get a free video to market if it works out. 35% of the time, they might be selling a vacant property. Perfect to practice in and build your portfolio Thanks for the video ideas as well. hope this helps.
@@PattyFlipz thanks bud for the beautiful explanation. Really appreciate it. I'm doing a podcast type thing with FPV ears from around the world, especially other people that are building. I'd like to have you on it if that sounds good. Maybe next week I call it a quadcast. You would be my third guest and I think it would be really fun to have you. Let me know if that sounds good
Yes it is a nightmare, but it’s just part of the process. Keying animating the colour. I use Final Cut Pro and what I do is just turn down the saturation of highlights if it gets too orange/yellow or you can play with the color balance. Best if all the bulbs in house can change to same colour too. Some realtors do that because certain led light can bring out the textures and colour of the photos/video
I think it depends what you are going for, but usually I have opted for 24fps or 30fps footage and low shutter speeds! Then control your ISO from there until it looks good to you on the screen.
@@PattyFlipz Also I want to film on 8:7 on the GoPro 11 for instagram and crop to 16:9 for other platforms. Would that be ok or will I be loosing video quality doing so? Thanks!!
@@SteveO4478 Hi! I found this article. community.gopro.com/s/article/HERO12-Black-Video-Settings-And-Resolutions?language=en_US - I believe there isn't really any quality loss, just loss of the extra pixels chopped off. If you film at 5k 8:7. Definitely no quality loss at all, but thats limited in frame rates you can choose from.
That’s something my wife would say to me usually haha but fpv fly throughs is just one tiny part of my line of work. I’m a pro Photographer, videographer, editor, drone pilot, fpv drone pilot, designer, product designer, triple business owner, content creator, influencer etc. I’m not too worried. Some people only do one of those things and stick to it. I on the other hand have huge issues.. 😂😅 it’s called not sleeping jk but, The world is better off sharing our knowledge. I’m not going to travel anywhere in USA or even be able to take over the entire Canadian market for fly throughs, nor have the time and energy. It’s physically impossible. Also for most independent artists, actually learning to fly fpv first that’s going to be the most difficult part and it’s expensive for some. As for my drone frames. That’s a different story. Besides needing to create content and inspiring new pilots, my hope is more and more get into it. To support me, all ya gotta do is buy my fpv frames please!! 😂🙏 orrr watch my RUclips videos :)
Nice one! That deserves at least a subscribe 👏 I hope you'll connect with another drone pilot, content creator and future cine whoop 'fly through' visual creator!! 😲😁👍
Hello, I'm using a gopro 11 naked on a DJI Avata and something strange happens when I turn it on and that is that the number of satellites drops, sometimes even to zero, could you help me with that? Thank
Hi, sorry I’m not really sure, I don’t use the avata. Maybe see if the Bluetooth or gps on your GoPro is turned off and try again? also Is the naked GoPro a metal case as well? That could be a nice signal blocker too perhaps

yeah! I do this as a side gig to make extra cash. Then I spend it on drones! LOL XD

Great video, are you using nd filters?
Thanks! No I don’t use nd filters as most of the flight takes place indoor

If it's a bright day are you running an ND filter for single takes?
Does auto adjust accordingly then when you make it inside the house?
Hi, no I don’t use any nd filter for 1 takes which need to go through dark interior to bright exterior.
@@PattyFlipz thanks man. Was just playing around with it the last couple of days and couldn’t figure out what to do. This video helped a lot!
It does adjust , just takes maybe a second for it to adjust exposure with its shutter speed. I lock my iso range to 100~400 or 100-200 sometimes.
@yesserfpv no problem man. yeah msg me or email me anytime. Happy to reply.
