🌟 About this video:
Well this is perhaps my most requested video EVER… But this is something that really isn't typical for me...
This is the fragrance notes that science says women find attractive on men. Which is the followup to:
✨ Notes / perfumes that science says make women more attractive to men: • Perfumes & Notes That ...
If you didn't know, I'm a scientist, Dr Claire (yep, it's true 😱). So despite me finding the whole idea a bit weird, people have tried to determine scientifically (questionable...) which fragrance notes women like on men.
The bigger question for me is can you really categorise an entire gender and put it in a one size fits all box?
Logic would lead me to conclude no 🤣, but there are some evolutionary reasons why women like smelling certain odours and it’s clear that those odours can act as fitness cues for things such as testosterone levels and can have some big effects on mate choice.
I looked at the research on this and it’s pretty sketchy, even more so than for notes that men like on women. Perhaps that reflects gender bias in research funding, market sizes or perceptions of which sex cares more about what the other thinks. Also, as I said in my fragrances that men like on women video, it goes without saying to take this “research” with a pinch of salt, the study sizes are small, they often lack adequate controls and replication. Again, as I said in my last video, I never want to exclude anyone and science hasn’t caught up with the rest of the world yet and still bases studies entirely on cis gendered heterosexuals with regard to research on fragrance choices, so I am sorry that that is the only point of view presented in this video. I do value everyone and I always want to try to show that.
My other concerns are that my analytics show me my audience is 93% female, so will anyone want to watch this?! 🤣 Also I try not to talk about fragrances now in terms of masculine / feminine so this feels strange... And, lastly, I’ve tried most of these fragrances, but certainly not all, and actually most I’ve tried in store only, so please take my suggestions as just that.
So here I show you 10 fragrance “notes" (or are they? 🤔) that have been shown, through quantitative or qualitative research methods, to be attractive to women when worn by men. I also make suggestions for fragrances with those notes in that you might want to check out.
Are these perfume notes attractive to you? Do you like these fragrances on men? Men, what's been a hit for you?

A beautiful smile and a bit of a good fragrance can add to the charm. As you mentioned, spraying a half bottle of fragrance in one go is a no no.
Yes a smile goes a long way 😊
My husband wore curve 20 years ago when we met. He still has that bottle but never wears any fragrance (unless deodorant counts!) so I don’t even know what I like on a man! I do know I wear and enjoy plenty of fragrances marketed toward men though, so likely I wouldn’t be too picky about notes 😊
Yes, I feel your pain, my husband is the same with not wearing fragrance. My experience of men's fragrances is from smelling it on friends and same, I have some samples of fragrances marketed to men and I wear some of those. I don't think I'm picky either. Certain fragrances are going to fit with certain people too, not necessarily a one note fits all solution. Thanks for watching Lauren 😊
Yes! Totally agree that "skin" is a great scent. A wise woman told me a long time ago that if you don't like a guy's natural scent, it will never last. She was right. 🤣 I love hubby's "skin" aroma.
Very true 😉
Can confirm 😅
That is fab advice and yep, if you don't like the cuddle aroma there's an issue. Cos making up is not going to be so easy or so much fun! 😉

Claire!! You are a Queen! My goodness. Wow! I just absolutely love your videos. I’m so interested in absolutely all facets of fragrance and perfume. Your original take on everything is so delightful and engaging for me. Really enjoyed this!! Thank you! ✌🏽🕺🏼♥️
Thank you so much Richard! I loved researching this. You know me, I love a bit of perfume science 😂 and a touch of human behaviour too, I'm there! 😉
Pastries and Coffee! Yes, I totally get it! 😍
I think that's the one that made me most go yes!!! too. It's something that resonates as delicious 😋
I absolutely adore the smell of cinnamon
This was as always an amazing video and the research you put into it did not go unnoticed
Love and hugs 🤗
Thank Frances, so pleased that you enjoyed it! Hugs back! ❤️ Cinnamon is a lovely scent. I really enjoyed wearing cafe cabanel around Christmas, it was delicious 😋
Vanilla, lavender, cinnamon, tobacco and cherry are some of my favorite unisex notes 🥰😍I must admit that 1 million Prive and Tobacco Vanille are some of my favorite fragrances for men and I would wear them myself 😉 Rich, Warm, Addictive by Zara is fantastic!
I've not tried 1 million prive, only the original, which I have a sample of but to me if feels very dry and full of ambroxan. I know the prive flanker is loved though so I bet that one is much nicer. Tobacco vanille is lovely and totally something I see anyone wearing. It's a big fragrance though! I've not tried RWA. I remember hearing people moaning about reformulation and it out me off but it probably shouldn't have done 🤷♀️ how bad can it be?! 🤷♀️ And it's a bargain! Thanks for watching ❤️
There are quite a few scent notes that get my (ahem) attention, in no particular order: tobacco leaf, (oak)moss, leather, salt, woods, coffee, patchouli, ambergris, vetiver and lavender.
Tobacco, coffee and leather are winners for me for sure. 😊 I am just happy when a man wears a fragrance, so many in my life just don't unfortunately 🤷♀️
I love Le Male, used to use my Ex boyfriend and also D&G and Rochas. I love it when men are into perfumes, it's like more options for me 😸😸
I never dated anyone who wore fragrance. I bought some for one boyfriend but he didn't take the bait 😂 and yes, especially when I was younger, I loved male fragrance on me. I used to get samples in magazines and wear them. I loved aquatics.
So far you are the best Men's fragrance advocate I have ever seen. Well done Claire. Sending million thanks and warm wishes from NYC.
Oh thank you! People just need to feel themselves. That's what's most attractive 😍
Thanks for watching 🥰
Yes! I feel like a man that wears fragrance cares about himself, like self care. It doesn’t have to be every day, but once in a while at least😉
Yes! Totally! It shows a level of care doesn't it? 😊
@@dr.claire.perfume for real
This is a very interesting video concept! I think you are right about people liking someone wearing fragrance because that gives the impression that the person takes care of him or her self. 😊
Yes! I think it's a statement whatever someone wears. Thanks for watching ❤️
Congrats on 2k babe!! Also, men are so interesting when it comes to what they like. I can't wait to see this.
Hey Tera, thank you for the congratulations, that means so much! Thank you for supporting me, I appreciate it. ❤️

Cucumber... with roses, London by Gallivant, so fresh and joking perfume. Lovely perfume. And quite surprising video, thank you !
I might have a sample of that one actually. I will have to resniff it! Thanks for the reminder 🥰
cucumber!! how fascinating, i never would have guessed. side note, i did regrettably attempt the cucumber challenge on my cats and they were unamused and (thankfully) unaffected. 🤣my favorite smell on a man is always some form of musk, with sandalwood coming in second.
I had no clue that cucumbers were a thing with cats... I wonder how many are terrified of them?
Yes beautiful Doctor, the sexiest thing is the smile, fragrances are only the cherry on the top😇
I agree with all these notes, my favourites are cinnamon and musk odour
Musk is the one isn't it?! It's quite universal and yes for sure, attraction doesn't start or end with fragrance. Smiles are everything ☺️. Thank you for watching, I appreciate it 🥰
Claire, I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it - I LOVE what you bring to this community, I LOVE that you bring yourself and your personality mixed with your expertise and research. It’s so so interesting and such fun!!!! You’re doing a really great job 👏 ♥️
I’ve always found it a bit odd that I do like the smell of a slightly sweaty man (not stale smelling, just clean sweat lol) Now I know why. Crazy that it’s actually scientifically based.
I do also find tobacco & leather notes very alluring. Really great vid 😄 xx
Thank you so much Lucinda! I enjoyed making this! I am sorry for the late reply.
Yes same! The smell of a man who's been working outside a bit but just got warm not sweaty 👌 and yes I agree, tobacco and leather are delicious on anyone, not just men but yes beautiful on men! Thank you again! 🥰

@@lucindacu477 oh thank you, yes I think it is, but I always try to reply! But thank you so much for making such effort to support me! ❤️
I love my husband's natural skin scent! 😍It's more alluring than fragrances! ❤I love musk on men and on women! On men it smells so good! 😍Musk definitely mimics the scent of skin. I love lavender on men and women. It's so relaxing!
Yes those two notes are universally attractive aren't they? They smell amazing on both sexes.
Firstly congrats on 2000!!!!
Thank you! ☺️
Sartorial by Penhaligons has lots of lavender and it’s my favourite on my man ,besides the old school obsession which is a totally different smell all together ,it’s warm and spicy and woody but has vetiver in the dry down 🤷♀️
Well those definitely fit! I need to try more Penhaligons. What I've tried so far seem mostly things that take a while to love, but they do seem like ones that can capture you. Obsession is a classic 👌
The guy drinking the science soda 🤣😂😂🤣
My favourite beverage 🤣
Hi lovely! This is so interesting 🧐 I am also surprised at the cucumber. It doesn’t do much for me lol.
It's so nothingy isn't it? I am not a fan of Alan Hirsch's research generally, he has very small sample sizes and he publishes in non peer reviewed journals quite a bit, which is not the best, the cucumber and liquorice combo is from him. Also his research showed that women actually react negatively to men's cologne but there are no details of what the cologne was 🤷♀️
I agree with all of this! Now, if only I can convince Darin to believe it. He's into woody, tobacco and leathery fragrances mostly and is very picky about what goes on "his" shelf. There are so many fragrances intended for him that end up on my shelf because he just refuses to wear them. 🤦♀️😄
Well you just need to sit him down and casually pop this video on cast to your TV. Start a discussion 😂 well he knows what he likes and maybe those scents make him smell like him? I bet he smells fab 😜
Paco robanne in the beginning was so amazing.
I do love ultraviolet woman from Paco Rabanne but I'm not keen on 1 million. Maybe the flankers are nicer?
100% agree with the disclaimers! 👏👏👏
Yup! There are more in the description box 🤣
Well I’m here to learn! 🤗 I can’t tolerate a strong cologne scent I always purchase a leather scent if it’s not “warm” I hate it 🥴 I love watching you! Yes we all have a sparkle ❤️ (It starts with good breathe for me ) 🤣 I honestly enjoy my hubby’s natural scent (with deodorant)🤣 he tries to spray scents to get my attention but honestly I get turned off so your right on the science I fit the category of musky skin scent!
It's interesting to hear what people think. Lots of people seem to love leather on men, so I think that must be a thing too! my husband never wears fragrance unfortunately... I wish he did! Thanks for watching ❤️
I definitely like to smell the clean scent, plus the lavender, vanilla, sandalwood are my favorite notes i think its also nice to smell them on men 🙂, my husband is not a fraghead he rarely use perfumes am the one who chooses perfumes for him to wear mostly body sprays becoz he doesnt want to buy expensive perfumes 😂.
Love how fragrances associate with science and thank you for sharing these to us how great it is to learn something from your videos 🙂💕
Thanks so much Rin. I feel your pain, my husband is also not a fragrance wearer. It's a rare treat! I also love sandalwood and vanilla and clean fragrances on men! 🥰
I'm not sure cucumber as a note works....a cucumber on its own might....😏😯😆
Yep, cucumber in fragrance is not something that attracts me at all Gabi. But 🥒??? Really??? Wow! 😆
How interesting that cucumber is high on the list ! Cucumber water is a lovely smell but I wouldn’t have considered it sexy 🤷♀️
Me neither! But that study is from the guy who tends to do very headline grabbing studies and rarely submits his research for peer review 🤦♀️ he also uses teeny tiny sample sizes, so I have no idea how reliable that study is... Liquorice and cucumber doesn't sound like a combination I'd love 😂🤷♀️
before i clicked on this video i was like this lovely reviewer here is so very knowledgeable and i always learn a lot in her vids, once again u proved me right!
i love Vetiver and enjoy it a lot especially after 15-20mins from spraying it, but i dont think ive noticed a female that liked it on me or said she likes it, but if they do thats great! and Mint + Vanilla + Lavender ? i totally get that and absolutely agree, og Le male was a genius creation, the perfumer is an Alien for sure lol, he came up with a fragrance with quite a unique combination, og le male was seduction in a bottle, the new reformulations r kinda half of what it was, Eros and le male were massively successful thnx to thse notes..and when One million came out it was revolutionary, imo it is a fragrance that was the victim of its own massive success, almost every designer house wanted to imitate that cinnamon vibe...and for some reason young ladies like mature scents on guys even if the guy is young, and older women like youthful or young scents on men like Eros even if the guy is older... tastes can be different but i totally agree about a mans natural body scent is so powerful and attractive and can be magnetic and addictive to women, human nature i guess...
great video Miss Claire Smith ♥
Yes I was in two minds whether to make this video really because people are clearly all very different and likes and dislikes are heavily dependent on culture. The scientific research here is lacking and ultimately this is just a very basic look at this topic because there really isn't as much published about male attractiveness with fragrance as with female attractiveness. I also think just rocking a fragrance, any fragrance, with the right attitude, can go a long way for someone to be attractive.
One million was just everywhere wasn't it? I think that's why I am little tired of it! I have toy2 bubblegum and that is the same perfumer I think and it again has cinnamon in the drydown! 😂 clearly obsessed! thanks for watching 😊
Doctor Claire strikes again!! Brava! Brava! I loooove these videos! Thank you for what you do and what you bring to this community!
Musk is something that Ryan doesn't enjoy on me, and I don't think I enjoy it on him, either. Weird.
Vetiver confuses me. I need to sniff it in isolation to understand what the heck it is.
Lavender is...nice in a fourgere, but NOT on me. People love Libre and Mon Guerlain - and I cannot.
VAAAA-NIIIII-LLLLLAAAAA! I love it on myself, but not on Ryan? His skin pulls the sweet out of EVERYTHING. He has the Noir Extreme, and I love it.
Ooooh! Did someone say mint? I predict Andreas will be here post haste! Hmmm. The effects of mint, eh?
Coffee and cinnamon - yum! To me that's what I get from Noir Extreme. Ryan has ALLLL of the Boss Bottled collection, so ya, I guess we like cinnamon. :)
All of the boss bottleds??? Wow! There are a lot! 😱
I think vetiver you need to find the right fragrance, sometimes it's like what on earth is that and other times it's oh that's stunning!
Lavender I kind of agree, I don't really enjoy Mon Guerlain. I do like libre but don't want a bottle of it.
Mint is fantastic, I love it! Especially spearmint 😋
And I know you love vanilla! I don't get how stuff smells so different on men but spraying my husband with sweet fragrances makes them smell very different so I get it!
I enjoyed researching this so no worries! Thank you so much for watching ❤️
I am also a lover of mint.
Mint is beautiful ❤️
Yeahhhhhh! There’s mint in your list!!!! And oh my God, the things that mint can do 😳!
I guess I do perceive fragrances differently than heterosexual men (are there any studies about what queer people enjoy and whether their tastes are different?) and so I 100% agree that I love the „natural“ male smells.
The note that I personally associate with a gentlemanly masculinity is, indeed, vetiver, so it’s no surprise that I have got many fragrances centred around this note. It happens to be a note that my partner enjoys, too, and whenever I get a fragrance as a gift from him, there's vetiver involved although he himself doesn’t have fragrances with this note. He seems to be the cinnamon kind of guy.
How I love your scientific approach to fragrances! Thanks so much for this video!
I had a look Andreas and I didn't see anything 😭 science needs to catch up with the rest of life. It's really backwards, there was even less research on what women want to smell than what men want to smell! 🤷♀️
And yep, you have very good taste in mint and your partner has excellent choice in vetiver for you and cinnamon for himself. Some very naughty and disarming fragrance notes right there 😉 you know me, I love a bit of perfume science! Thanks for watching! ❤️
I forget the exact study, but there was research done a while ago where different groups (straight men and gay men, straight and gay women) smelled I think sweat samples from all the other groups, and were asked which they enjoyed the most. Not a perfume study exactly, but a study on natural body odor preferences.
The science behind perfumes is interesting. I do like a musky scent and also a clean scent on a man. Fitting right there in the categories mentioned clean, skin, spice, warm.
They are pretty broad, but the notes do all seems to fit in at least one of those categories. 🤔
Super interesting stuff Claire - thank you for sharing all your knowledge with us💖
Thank you for watching ❤️
Always had a good response from mint and cinnamon, Guerlain homme edp & V&R Spicebomb are the too that work great on me
I really love mint, so I think that would be the one for me! It's fab and really interesting to hear what works for people in real life! I hope you are feeling better 🥰
Tom Ford beau de jour I feel would be really good or creed Viking (treating myself to a bottle of that at the end of this month for my big 30th) after sampling from greggieboys! So so good!!
Beau de hour sounds like a winner from the notes, I will go smell that one in store! Thank you for the suggestion and happy birthday for later on. 30 is party time! 😉

Great video again full of information and I'm really surprised with cucumber , I'm not a huge fan of it but melon can give a similar smell I suppose with that fresh watery feel
Me neither 😂 I don't think cucumber would drive me wild at all 😂 melon can also be a bit, I don't know, almost sickly to me. I do like other aquatics though. 🤷♀️ Thanks for watching ❤️
I am so impressed with all the information you gathered and retained! Never ceases to amaze me. Love the inserts! I enjoy smelling tobacco and liqueur on my husband. ❤️
Those are two lovely notes that would make someone smell delicious so I understand those choices 👌 some notes just suit some people perfectly don't they? ❤️
I have learned so many interesting facts on your channel. Thank you.
Thank you so much Yulia, that means a lot 🥰
Starting with the title this sounds interesting already 🥰☕
Haha, yes, I've had this video requested so much over the last month or so, so I thought I had better film it 😂
Yes to vetiver and lavender 🥰 But I tend to prefer tonka beans over vanilla 😁
I noticed that I'm also attracted by citrus notes like bergamot, spices like ginger and cardamom, woody notes like pine and juniper. But the ones that really attract me the most (aside from all the previous ones) are ambergris and violet leaves 🥵❤ In the end, I understand why fragrances like Le Frenchy by Guerlain seem really attractive to me as it ticks so many boxes 😁
Juniper is lovely to me, really fresh and cool and clean! Tonka too, I agree! And I love wearing violet leaf fragrances myself. I need to try more Guerlain and seek that one out. You are the Guerlain expert Karine 👌 thanks for watching ❤️
Hi Claire! I love your researched videos. Thanks for sharing 🤍
Thanks for watching Melissa ☺️
I like good old iso e super.
Yes maybe that's the same idea as vetiver and musk a bit? Along the same lines maybe? Thanks for watching ❤️
Once again, great research and great video! You've put so much work in it, thank you. It seems my husband loves vetiver and woods as he wears only three fragrances: Hermes' Terre, Loeve 7 and Molecule 01. I loove all of them on his skin. I'm wondering about the liquorice - I believe the study has been done in the US where liquorice and marshmallow are associated with childchood, good memories, security, etc. I think it wouldn't be the same in my country where we did't get those sweets when we were young (it could be a cotton candy and vanilla instead). Do you agree?
Yes it's going to be entirely environmental and learned associations, much like floral preferences in different places. E.g. chrysanthemums being associated with death or lillies, and jasmine being associated with churches or ladies of the night, similarly marigolds being associated with weddings or veg patches. It must be a nightmare trying to find a fragrance that the whole world might love for perfume companies 😊
The cat ant the cucumber….😂😂😂
I didn't realise it was a thing, but apparently cats are terrified of cucumbers. I watched a few videos because it is just so so odd! Did you ever see that before?

Lavender is a note for some reason makes me a little sick. One of the sexiest notes to me is cherry.
I think it's because lavender is a little soapy and cloying. Lavender is also not my favourite. and wow, cherry would be delicious 😋
Hello Claire,
this video was so entertaining and fun! It's interesting to hear about what is supposed to attract. The first male fragrance that I bought my hubby way back was the original formula Obsession. I loved the amber, patchouli, cinnamon and spice in that fragrance. He chooses clean fragrance notes when selecting things for himself. So, we have different taste in that regard. I also love aromatics like lavender and mint too. Thanks for again for a great video! - Jenn
That's interesting, I've seen a few people name Obsession here... Maybe it's the spices? I love mint personally. If I could ever get my husband to wear fragrance! 😂 Thanks for watching Jenn! ❤️
Hi claire🤗
Such a brilliant video!
Love cinnamon in men fragrances. I find warm spicy categories so attractive especially when they are aligned with amber or resins.
My favourite on my husband is Bulgari man in black. I love to wear it my self😅
Thank you so much for this interesting video. Waiting for more forward 💞
I have smelt man in black, it's a lovely fragrance! very dribbly sprayed though 😂 I can for sure imagine it being something I would wear too! Thanks for watching ❤️
Now I know why I use mint based ingredients to relax my back.....as for the other.....well I say lol 😆
Aah yes Gabi! The wonders of mint 😉
Oh wow I’ll never look at my favorite cucumber salad the same again!🤣. All kidding aside Claire I love these videos. Although I chose not to study business rather than science I’ve always been the inquisitive type who wants to how or why. You satisfy that need especially given that I’m so sensitive to smell (loads of allergies and I don’t do funk). My husband will probably hate you because I’m going to be bugging him incessantly now about why he likes fragrances. Lol
Hey Faith! 😆 I saw that 🥒 gif and I couldn't resist 😂 yes definitely bug your husband! I'd be interested to know what he thinks! I think I'm the same, really animalic fragrances can be too much for me usually. I found researching this fascinating, thank you so much for watching ❤️
Yes mint
It's a lovely refreshing note! So clean!
I love my husband's skin, freshly clean or after a day of work, all salty. And he has a lovely skin, on his neck and shoulders, it's thick but smooth.
I like very many fragrances on him but I don't like typical shower gel frags (like Dior Sauvage) or anything that smells like deodorant over unclean sweat (Bleu de Chanel... the Parfum one smells like that, like sweaty cumin).
He currently owns Jazz Club, Azzaro Chrome, Commodity Moss and Lacoste Blanc. Love them all on him. I love CH 212 on him too but he's ran through that. As for vanilla, he keeps pinching my Whispers in the Library!
Loved this video Clair, your research and delivery is brilliant! 👏👏❤
Haha whispers in the library, I get it! It's a perfect fragrance to share 🙊
Yes I'm not a fan of the shower gel type either. My husband rarely wears much at all, so I talk about these scent bubbles from my experiences of other people 🙊 but yes, the male skin smell is 👌

I’m a sucker for clean. I love a man who smells super fresh and clean. Also clean and fresh is the opposite to the smell I find most repulsive in men…..strong “unclean” body odor . Add cigarette smell to the mix…..you can look like Ryan Gossling but if you smell icky…..nope. That’s my red line. 😂
My favorite vetiver on a man is Terre de Hermes. Yep.
If my hubby watches this video he’s going to be purchasing 29 lavender fragrances. 😂
🤣
I only recently tried it but can I persuade my husband to wear fragrance at all? Nope! 🙄
yes I agree, I like clean, just showered 👌
I rarely find men's "natural" smell appealing. It's a mixture of sweat, no fabric softner and smelly shoes😹😹 I prefer perfume, unless I really like him😸😸
🤣 yep, I think the natural smell needs some help. Clean man out of a shower though 👌
@@dr.claire.perfume Yes the whole 30 min they smell good 😸😸
I don't know why but I like "stronger" notes on men: Leather, Amber, woods and oud, green / fresh. I don't think notes have a gender and I don't like the same notes on women or men (Lavender)🤷♀
I really don't enjoy lavender. I've tried, apart from YSL libre. That one is ok for me. I don't want to own it though. And same, I love leather! ❤️
@@dr.claire.perfume I have a sample of it (Libre) and on me the Lavendr is very strong. I don't like it. It smells old lady-ish
alright so i've ended up at this video a few days after the video on 10 niche perfume brands, where you mentioned a difficulty smelling molecule 01. on that video, i said iso e super has a super strong smell to me, and now on this video we also differ on the smell of cucumber! because cucumber also has a very strong, very distinct smell to me, but you say its weak for you. a very surface level google search tells me there is also a genetic component to it. it just makes me even more curious about what demographic correlations there may be for these things. i wonder if you like the smell/taste of coriander? i dont but i also dont hate it. do you like coffee? if you do, can you drink it black? im not crazy about coffee but i can have it with minimal sugar and still enjoy it
I've only tried molecule 01 in store, I didn't smell it but I tried lots of other things that day so I don't know if I would if I tried it in isolation. I can clearly smell iso E super in other fragrances when it's with other things, for example PDM Althair or one of the Replica fragrances I just reviewed, I don't remember which it was, by the fireplace or jazz club.
Cucumber I love, but I prefer it chunked to sliced. I like the solid bit I guess, not so much the middle. I think it's strong in a way, but also not, it's a pretty delicate scent. I love coriander, I am not one of those people who find it soapy. And yes I love coffee but I'm a caffeine non responder (I was tested as part of a study), so I can drink a lot of it and not really get any feeling from it. I don't mind it black but I prefer it with milk, definitely no sugar though, I really don't enjoythe syrups and sweet drinks you get in coffee shops. I also dilute fruit juices as I find them too sweet, plus I'm a dental researcher so they make me scared for my enamel. I think I'd struggle to identify a food I don't like, maybe kidney is the only thing I struggle with, to me they taste of urine. 🥰
First!
Hi Julija ❤️ you win 🏆 thanks for being here ❤️
An interesting video indeed Dr
Why would you want your sweat to smell of vanilla? You'd never wanna eat cake again. That is very odd.
Interestingly I don't personally wear many if any of them notes in a string way 🤣 I perhaps reek of testosterone a bit too much.
I do have many musky ones I guess, a note I do enjoy.
Vetiver I don't think it suits me yet... But could be a way u go. Lavender can have other associations for me so I don't like that too much. Cinnamon I forgot Angels Share, I like it when it's subtle it can so easily take over a fragrance and be horrible.
Mint? I'd only wear that for Andreas 😜 for some reason I don't enjoy cleaner fresher greener ones on me. Maybe they don't work with my skin too well. And with the mint, all I'll say... Ex tingle cream, too impatient, too enthusiastic and Liberal with it... Very very funny, probably not the desired effect 🤣. And let's not be too personal but I do know erm kisses? After brushing teeth have a positive reaction let's say 🙄
I wonder if its another one that depends on cultural factors too? And erm the science... 🙄 How do they even know do they send Brad Pitt to ask for a number outside Costa and then Wayne Rooney to get a number outside the fishmongers... Is this scientist from across the pond? 😜
Omg Jon! You are hilarious. 🤣
I can't imagine you smelling of lavender at all actually. I totally get that. I can imagine you wearing vetiver though, I think the lighter ones would suit you more (in my head, so complete rubbish 🤣) but they generally have citrus so I bet you go towards the darker danker ones.
Yes I would also wear mint for Andreas 😉 Oh mint! Don't tell me about tingle creams 🙈 🤣 ok, getting my own back here, lubes with mint are just a no for me, but they are so so strong and I imagine, yes "kisses", are very exciting with some gentle mintiness.
Err I don't remember actually, I think you might be right though, I think it was from the US 🤷♀️ yeah the sample size to get significance on that would need to be huge and actually also there are so many confounding factors to account for that I would be amazed if that was something that could be replicated. 🤷♀️
I would like to hear from a man on this topic in a non panty dropper format, but yes, everything is personal isn't it and I'm certain you are right, it will be cultural. And that means these studies probably don't account for the tastes of the majority of the world.
@@dr.claire.perfume I can't really talk with too much knowledge, I know partners have loved Joop, me in sweeter ones like Boss Soul, and they've bought me things like Touch and Boss Dark Blue, and a workmate got me Boss Hugo, that's more of a classic style but modern sweetness.... So I guess for me the lasses I attract like something sweeter, maybe a touch floral. Which kind of goes against all that research into it? Altho a lass attracted to me's type isn't gonna be a 6ft5 bearded bare chested viking woodcutter who munches bricks are wrestles bears and elephants... Yea i don't quite fit into that category... More the flower picking simplistic country boy with the blonde curtains 🤣 cuddling hippos and cows.
But yes 😂😂 the tingle cream in my defence she wanted more and more on. Honestly it was a rather evil ex and even after the shower she cudnt sit still, was most amusing.
Haha I'm gonna have to dig out a lavender one aren't I... But no not that one, definetly not that one
@@scentedsnowdrops I tell you what, Joop homme, I've been wearing it. Colin must love sitting next to me 😉 I must smell delicious 😜 Not tried the others you mention though. And yep, I think putting all makes and all females in one box is ridiculous. Certain fragrances are just going to suit certain people.
LOL I can imagine, I've seen the effects of milder mint and also of chilli. 😳 So I think I can imagine and yep showering ain't gonna shift that. 🤣
Why do you need to wear lavender? Nah, stick with what you love 👌
@@dr.claire.perfume haha he will be loving that smell to be fair who wouldn't.
Ouch to chilli, yes I can imagine that's a special hell. I wonder if tooth paste and chewing mint is why we associate mint as fresh and clean or it's instinctive
Too bad Mercedes Club Black was discontinued. One of the best affordable fragrances ever. I wear it.
I found some in a shop here the other week! 😱 £22 bargain 🤣
@@dr.claire.perfume wwwwwwhat?????? Hold on to that beauty!!!
I couldn't believe my eyes, last bottle!
The rat exercising 🤣🤣
He's dedicated to looking good 😜
@@dr.claire.perfume lol 😆
What mint makes you have the big O word. Lord Jesus I would think it would burn like heck. Lmbo
Yes 🤣 I agree! Apparently some women love it though 🤷♀️ I don't think I know these women... 😂
Hmm… 🤔 I’m surprised that cardamom isn’t on the list. What are your thoughts?
As a scientist, I don't think these studies are well run in the main. They are inherently biased in how the options are tested for. That was even more clear when I made the video of the scent notes that are supposed to make women more attractive... Some of those studies were hilarious. But yes, they were small sample sizes, not repeated and poorly controlled studies.
From my own point of view, I like cardamom, I wear cardamom fragrances and I appreciate classics like la nuit de l'homme so yes, cardamom is beautiful. I think I'd struggle to pick particular notes personally. For me, it's what someone feels comfortable in and that suits them. The fragrance that stopped me in my tracks once when someone was wearing it was tom ford noir de noir, but it suited them and was striking but not shouty, no cardamom there though... Thanks for watching 🥰
Oh no... I'm never going to eat Vanilla again 😥
That's exactly how I felt 😂
HEYYYYYY sorry for disappearing🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
No worries, I've been AWOL since Saturday 🤦♀️
