I had the nex 3,5n,3n,6 in succession and finally the last one, the 5t. Lately I've switched from the Sony A7 to the NEX5T almost for fun. I must say, however, that using it every day you appreciate the quality of its files and if you find its viewfinder at an affordable cost you have an improved nex 6 with the buttons in the right place. With the sigma triad 19,30, and 60 on this sensor they behave excellently. And with a limited budget you carry everything in your bag while maintaining excellent quality especially with the 60 which is a champion. Up to 1600 ISO during the day the grain is usable and not that bad in post production the files recover well. For photographic use it is a good product in my opinion.
I have the 5T + A5100. What I love about these cameras is that they are tiny, easy to carry and deliver good APS-C image quality. Also, they are great for street photography in contrast to my bulky DSLRs, you get easily unnoticed
For some reason, the 5R is more expensive than the 5T here in Indonesia. Probably because people assume the 5R is the little brother of the A7R, whilst the 5T is floating around under the radar.
It would he interesting if you can compare the bokeh between the NEX-5T and the A6000 series, one thing I noticed jumping from the NEX 5T to A6300 is the bokeh doesn't look the same anymore (this was on sony 35mm F1.8) at ISO200-400 something, the older NEX sensor bokeh is very smooth and creamy while the A6000 series is very harsh and crisp, the only weakness for me on the NEX is I will only push up to ISO800 anything past 800 i feel like the image processor kickes into a different gear, color and dynamic is significantly worst.
Hello, I wanted to get into photography for the longest time but I always thought that I need to spend at least 2000$ to get something good, thanks to your channel now I know that there's options in any price point, I was considering the nex 5 but I couldn't find any in my area but I found a NEX6 for 200$, is it worth it? My options are either it or the nikon d700 for the same price
hey man, nice video. but i have to somewhat disagree with the nfc part. if it was worked out as in the comersial video's you showed it would have been a killer feature. but since the nfc only makes the camera connect to the wifi signal of the camera it only replaces the ''putting in the wifi passeword'' step in the process of transferring photo's to your camera, which if you look in to what nfc can do (and sony btw actualy did in other products) is not a lot.
I still have a 5R which I use with my telescope as an option to my Panasonic GM5 M4/3 for planetary photography. They are so light the motors don't know they are there.
low light video is actually not bad with these sensors for its time sony was ahead of its time as low light king cameras. I have a nex 5t and it a my back up back up camera 😅
What would be a good upgrade from NEX-5? Main consideration is weight, size. Sony A5100 is even a tiny bit lighter, but hard to find in good prices, same with NEX-6. A6000 maybe? A6100 has kind of crazy prices here. ZV-E10 sounds really good, still quite new, popular on used marked.
Hi @kraigpruett you’re one of the reason why Im persuing my curiosity in Photography you’re an inspiration! This weekend I’m planning to get a Sony NEX-5r with 2lens 1m/3.29ft and 0.25m/0.82ft-0.3m/0.98ft for 130$ is it worth it should I get it? I have no idea with the lenses yet or in Photography in general however I am very interested and love to learn along the way. Your response is highly appreciated. Thank you and much love!
The 5R will be a great! Those are the two kit lenses for the NEX system, and both actually perform pretty well! I think this will be a great kit to start your photo journey!!
Just found one for $110 think is a good camera for a beginner? 🤔 just watched your video pf all the sony models that you recommended for beginners and the 5r is the one I've been looking for but prices are a bit high😅
Hello, I am currently interesting in the Infrared Photography and do not want to do the conversion on my daily driver A7C II, do you recommend to buy a second hand NEX-5T or NEX-6, or go for the A6000 ?
I found one for 200 :( I thought it was a good value until I knew the year of the camera and now to see that you bought it for half, could you please link to the guy who sells them for 100 or someone else who knows about online sales at the range please?
@@gamesmaster90 Yup, the battery. Some buy the external battery adapter and years ago I saw someone who had a vented rear plate instead of the solid flat aluminum plate which lies under the rotating rear viewfinder screen.
This camera has so many issues. It kept turning off and on randomly and sometimes it wouldn’t turn on. Went to Sony to fix, worked for a bit but now the problems back. The touchscreen also stopped working. Not worth the hassle.
most likely the nex 5r (t) but in reality the difference in af speed is not so big. if you want fast AF then do you most likely be beter of just getting an sont a6000. but if size acualy matters than i would suggest the nex 5 r(t)
BTW if I’m wanting something compact to be a biking/travel camera, mainly for photography, does the NEX line or even like an a5100 hold up over other brands from that time/current price range? (Something like an Olympus e-pl8 or Panasonic gf7/gf8)
No. The 5R & 5T have a metal front, but plastic top plate and back half. The NEX 5+5N, 6, and 7 all have different variations of build material as well. The 5R and 5T feel very cheaply made.
NEX-5T was released in 2013… not 2023 lol 😂
My mind widened when you say 2023, luckily i checked the comment a second after
😂😅😆
You said 2023 which scared crap outta me and I seriously checked its release date to see if the NEX series suddenly crawled out of its grave.
Yeah my fault 😂😂😂😂
Same here! haha I thought Sony had released a new camera with an old name!

Nice Bruh! is the auto focus better on the a5100 or the 5t?
Love both of those options! Such fun little cameras!
@@WaleedUmar-p9u the autofocus is better on the A5100, because the A5100 is almost the same as A6000. They have the same sensor
For some reason, the 5R is more expensive than the 5T here in Indonesia. Probably because people assume the 5R is the little brother of the A7R, whilst the 5T is floating around under the radar.
I bought it new in 2013 and still use it almost everyday.

You're The Best , i always watch your videos when about to purchase a NEX camera
Love to hear it!

Totally fair. Thanks for sharing!

The explanation is very easy to understand
Happy to hear it

Yes this is absolutely a good upgrade over the original 5, especially if you’re a video shooter.
@@kraigpruettThx. It's more for my gf than me. I got myself A7 for use with vintage lenses.
Should i buy it tomorrow?
without sony nex line there would have been no a7 series. I loved all of them for street photography
For videography
Can we use a gimbal for sony nex6 ?
With 1.8 50mm lens ?
the nex 5r and 5t are compatible with sony romote rmt dslr2

Can u drop the name of the store kn Korea.😅
Good small camera ad the price also
Agreed!
How can I buy this ?
Do not buy this camera. Overheating problem

Great video, dude! But use deesser, please :)
Sorry about that! We will get it cleaned up next time :)

Hi, Which of these cameras has the fastest focus? (* for photography *)
Nex3(C,N,F)
?Nex 5(N,R,T)

Yes... my bad hahah!
I would look at the A5100 for sure!! It is a great camera!
@@kraigpruett awesome thanks!
"It feels all plastic" isn't it a magnesium alloy body like all the rest of the NEX-5 series? 5:45

6700 and NEX5T... SAME IMAGE QUALITY😮😅
Not quite haha... more like the NEX-5T and A6000.
It was NOT released in 2023!😂
