    I think I'm good with the method without a seed phrase because technically you need the card to sign any transaction. So, I just need to figure out where to hide the cards.

      Actually seed/seedless are same. Because seed/seedless are generated unique private key, then stored in media (card/chip/something similar). So if someone looking for wallet, the one they looking for is private key not seed phrase even it use 24 words. Basically it is same.

    I like the idea of having your main investment on Tangem with a generated 24 word seed phrase with a Passphrase and using another Tangem card for daily use with small amounts.
    I have used the Vault and think it is the best in security, cheers Shayne

      Great to hear you have your system in place. Security is the key but also human error has one of the biggest parts to play in crypto. There has been massive amounts of crypto lost forever simply because users weren't educated on how to backup their seed phrases/passphrases etc, glad to hear you are using The Vault to mitigate this risk :)

    Please cover the portability of a 12 vs 24 word seed phrase if one needs to use another wallet software(Metamask, Rabby, Ledger, etc…
    Also, please discuss what option or alternative is available for wallet recovery if we use the 24 words with pass phrase, in the event that something happens to Tangem.
    Thanks in advance !

    • @BetterHumanz
      @BetterHumanz  3 месяца назад +2

      You would only use your seed phrase in another wallet if you needed to, there is no reason to have it in many wallets because the more it is exposed the more chance it could get compromised. I do not recommend using your "MasterKey" online anyway so any seed phrase you use online should only hold smaller amounts of crypto. As for recovery with a seed phrase and passphrase, there are a few wallets that allow this, Rabby is one of them that is a good option but if you want to ensure more security you can import your seed phrase and passphrase using an offline device, I will do a video for this.

    I'm lost and frustrated trying to set up my Tangem cards. I'm confused when the term "importing a wallet" is used. Does that mean I'm importing a previously created wallet at another company? Or does the word "importing" also mean "creating"? Can I actually create a NEW wallet with a seed phrase I've chosen - rather than a seed phrase randomly chosen for me by Tangem? I would rather create my own seed phrase. Also, you did not explain the whole pass-phrase thing Tangem requires. The explanation for that at their website is incomprehensible to me. I thought Tangem was supposed to be easy!! Ugh!

    • @BetterHumanz
      @BetterHumanz  25 дней назад

      When you import a wallet it just means your importing your "Seed Phrase" .. If you generated that Seed phrase using another wallet like for example "MetaMask" then you most likely already have crypto on it and that crypto will display and be available in Tangem if you import that Seed phrase. You can create a new Seed Phrase and select the import option in Tangem then import your own Seed phrase. Tangem doesn't require a passphrase that is an option you can use if you want to.

      @@BetterHumanz Thank you for a very understandable and quick reply. I wish they called it "IMPORT or CREATE wallet" - which would make it more understandable to first-time users. However, the Tangem website article on importing a wallet makes it sound like adding a passphrase is not optional, but required. The app interface also makes it seem required. Plus, Tangem advises against importing a wallet with a passphrase - calling it TOO MUCH security (that can go wrong if you lose it). So honestly I'm afraid to even try putting in my own seed phrase in. I might just suck up the loss - throw the cards away - and try another wallet platform that allows you to create your own seed phrase (if that's even a thing). I'm learning as I go but it's a steep curve. Thanks again for getting me a little further down the road.

    Seed phrase- I listened to tangem that it’s better not too. Wait until you get stuck pending ETH transaction and the whole card locked up. Transactions never end.
    With a seed phrase I could open up in meta mask or other wallets with advanced features, but with Tangem my money wasted.

      Awesome to hear the video helped. In regards to creating your own seed phrase you do not want to do this on any online website. I use my own software offline called "The Vault". The ultimate way to create your own seed phrase is to roll your own dice to create your own "Entropy" (randomness). Never use an online device to generate a seed phrase. Hardware wallets have their own random number generators built in for generating a seed phrase. There are also a few non wallet offline devices that can generate seed phrases, the Ellipal Joy and the Seedsigner are examples of these.

    how about if you dont have the seed phrase and you decide to import this wallet into another of a different manufacturer then you dont know the seed phrase and will have no master key ? And why would a tangem with seed phrase be more prone to hack attack? The master key/seed phrase is only used when first setup not always when connecting and working with it?? Or did I misunderstood?

      No a hidden portfolio with a passphrase doesnt need a device. You just need to use a tool to decrypt it when you want to make a cold storage transaction.

    • @BetterHumanz
      @BetterHumanz  29 дней назад +1

      When you set up the first card of the set it gives you the option to import your own seed phrase or generate one using the Tangem generator. If you have setup your cards using the default option without a seed phrase then the only way is to reset your cards and start again however you obiousley have to move all your crypto off those cards first to a temporary wallet like Trustwallet then reset the cards then move your crypto back to Tangem.

If i have the same seed phrase on both it can be bad for the tangem too if they do something dodgy, not that they will do, but if... u know. If i generate the 24 seed phrase for the Tangem backwards to the Ledger i am save... am i thinking correct??? ( Sry for my bad english, im german xD )

      I use multiple seed phrases, I dont have all my portfolio on one seed phrase. You should never have all your wealth in one place because then it is a single attack vector. The way I do it is I have a master key and create a seed stack from that.

    Question 🙋
    Let’s say you created a wallet using seed phrase on the tangem app.
    What if you import that seed phrase to other app then what’s the purpose of the tangem card now? Can you still use it to sign in the transaction made on the other app with same seed phrase?

    • @BetterHumanz
      @BetterHumanz  2 месяца назад

      Your seed phrase can be imported into any crypto wallet that has that option, and most do. The purpose of Tangem is to allow you to make transactions with your assets attached to that seed phrase, and to make it simple and secure. There are many wallets you can use but Tangem is one of the easiest and most convenient.
