Everyone has to make money....Marketing is what it is, you take the sponsers you can get....Nobody forces anyone to buy any products, you really think we see what lures KVD really throws? He won a Classic on a 70's Rogue while pitching the Strike King Jerkbait in every magazine, show etc...Majority of lures guys use here in Florida to win money, rarely the ones they speak about at the ramp....If you are sponsered by Yum, or BPS for example...You don't think they have some Yamamoto products in the boat or only thowing Stik'os and dingers...Just saying. I never believe anything I read or hear from a pro regarding brands. I assume if throwing a mid-deep crankbait, they are throwing the proven models from Bomber, Rapala, Norman, Poe's, SK XD....Maybe a new Berkley or Spro, but either custom balsa cranks, something modified....They rarely are throwing the Ima $20 Crankbait they claim.
@@ldsudduthhanover In all seriousness, who is building rods in the USA? Reels? I was just thinking out loud, "I really like this Roland guy. He's a great teacher." Because honestly, most bass RUclipsrs are kinda stingy when it comes to advice. And I get it; they're a tournament fisherman, and they don't wanna give all their tips and tricks away... fair enough. But damn man. Not only do they keep what tackle they use a secret, but they won't even explain what they're doing and how to fish it. Just highlights of them catching fish. Well heck Roland doesn't seem to mind at all. He'll show us and teach us everything he knows, just to help us catch bass. So thank you! I really appreciate your videos! You've helped me a lot.

I just want to let you know I'm grateful for your videos because I don't have any grandparents or any good bass fisherman in my family to learn all these cool tricks from. Me and my dad have the trout fishing down but as far as bass fishing you're my go-to guy
Thanks Roland!! You are still teaching me stuff even after 40 years. You are one of the great ones and have so much knowledge to share. Keep up the content please!
The tips and the specific 'how to' style of this video are exactly what so many people want and appreciate. So many other people who produce fishing videos never get into the specifics because they are afraid of giving away their so called secrets. I'm an ametuer and need all the help I can get. Thank you Mr. Martin this was really helpful.
I wish I could have seen this 40 years ago! The best advice on worm fishing Ive ever seen. Thanks Mr. Martin. You’re still a Great teacher! I’m still laughing at “what if winds 25 mph..Go Home 😂.. Beautiful! God Bless 🎣
It’s funny how watching you has brought back memories from when I was a kid watching you on TV with my dad on the weekends we weren’t out fishing. Thank you for making these videos
Wow just seeing this out of the box ruclips.net/user/postUgkxQr1yd4Zc6qJF-scTB6Zb9dQbVpviuRxB recommend I have yet to fish with this set up, but based on the first hands on appeal, I can tell this is going to change the way i pack and carry to a whole new level. If you fish like i do, you know the smaller and less stuff the better. I’ve added a photo of just some of my gear so you can see how serious i am about fishing.
I’m 76 and was catching big bass before I heard if you. But I have enjoyed all these years of watching and learning from one of the premiere fisherman, especially bass fishing. Stay well Hal
Roland, I’ve been a fan since I was a kid, probably 30+ years ago. I used to wake up and watch you on ESPN outdoors on Saturday morning, and I really enjoyed watching you catch the “big ol bass”. Thanks for all the tips and letting kids like me travel along with you to fish the waters of the US. I was happy to watch this RUclips video and learn you are a military veteran like myself. After all these years, I just finally learned you served. Thanks for the all the fishing tips and for serving our country.
Hey Roland. I grew up watching you, Bill Dance, Jimmy Houston, and Hank Parker. I'd like to thank you for everything you have done for the sport. God Bless you brother and thank you. Jay S
I just want to say that you are a genius I watched your video last night for the first time an I listened to every word you said. This morning I left my house an told my son we’re gonna catch the biggest fish ever today. It rained the whole day an still I stayed determined. I caught the biggest bass of my life. 12 inches an had to be over 10 pounds I was shaking I was so excited an my kid was also. An I just wanted to say thank you for making our day
i am a old school commercial fisherman retired from fishing. now i love fresh water fishing. i listen to the guys that know. and you are the best. thank you.
Hey Roland Ive been watching you since you and jimmy were on top every year. Not only have you been an icon but your charisma has kept you top on my list allways.I currently live in naples and I cant wait for the day I get to shake your hand for all you have done. Ps the proof of your class shows in your son Scott who I cherish to meet too. you are one of the greatest REAL people I could ever think of,and still helping people catch fish. YOU GO MAN thx Ray
I grew up watching you on TV Mr Martin. You and Jimmy and Bill kept me glued to my TV every sat morning back then. It was great to see you doing what you do again Keep it up my friend, and thank you for all the inspiration you provided over the years.
Met you in Elberton, Ga in a burger joint along with Ray Scott, Bob Cobb and all the veterans in 98 at Richard B Russell top 100. One of the most memorable nights of my life. Class act. Oh son....it was awesome.
Wow! As a young man I used to watch your show with my Dad. Dad loved watching you (me too) and after the show we would sometimes go fishing. Dad pretty much bottom fished so I never really go to do any Bass fishing with him. Fast forward many years, Dad had passed away several years ago, I became a full fledged computer geek and a IT Professional, living in the desert and got away from fishing. Now that I'm approaching 60, and had received a Rod and Reel from my company for a 20 year anniversary gift, I'm gearing up to once again to fishing. But I want to go after the other species like Bass. So, like a good computer geek, I hit youtube for research. Learned several things and was looking through my feed and suddenly, there you are. I didn't even need to see your name. I knew who you are instantly and hit that subscribe button so fast I almost broke my mouse. LOL. Super Glue. No one else I watch ever mentioned that. Using swivels like that. Makes perfect sense and, again, no one else even mentioned swivels. Glad I found you sir. Don't go away now, my big fishing trip is a few months away and I have much to learn from you. :)
That is an awesome room you have there. Got into shooting about 8 years ago but finally just bought myself and my 4 and 6 year old boys fishing rods and took them to the lake. Everyone including my wife got hooked and cant wait to go back. Guess I found another expensive fun hobby.
I grew up watching this guy’s shows as a kid. I still use what he taught to this day. I am glad I found him and Bill Dance on RUclips. It’s like your favorite comfort food😁
I’m a bass fishing noob, I use to only use crank baits and if I caught a bass than I caught one. Yesterday I used a wacky worm rig and with in 20 min I had 2 smash it. Now I’m on RUclips finding and learning so much info about bass fishing. I’m not to sure who this guy is but he makes me just want to learn more and more. Seems like a great teacher and I’m looking forward to watching more of his videos. I’m hooked to the point I went out and bought a trolling motor for my kayak, can’t wait to get back on the water.
I watch your videos here from my home in Brazil, and they have helped me a lot to improve my bass fishing techniques. Thanks Roland, you are the best !
Hey believe it or not my daddy used all those tricks I'm not knocking you but he was one of the best fisherman I ever knew . And in my book you're the best one out there keep it up my brother.
Great to see you on here. You, Bill Dance and Jimmy Houston are responsible for my bass fishing addiction. I've caught many bass since 1970 but will never forget my first. Caught it on a purple worm. Thank you for being a teacher. Old Scott is a pretty good bass catcher. He sure reminds me of you from back in the good old days.
Mr. Martin I've been a fan of yours since my uncle (retired LTC) introduced me to bass fishing 20 years ago. Thank you for your knowledge, devotion, and disbursement of experience and know how. I caught my biggest bass out of your marina at Lake Okeechobee. Grunts love to fish too! God bless.
SON!!!! Another great video Roland. Thank you so much for passing on some really good common sense tips. Have enjoyed watching you fish for decades. Maybe one day I can come down to your neck of the swamp and fish some huge Florida bass.
I loved watching you on TV ~30 years ago as a very young buck and I am very happy I found your YT channel. I was especially happy to see a shop half full of reloading equipment, I never knew you were a RO. New Sub !!!
I have always respected Roland's tips and tricks. There are so many little tricks I have learned from watching his show in the past, and much of the time I used them with success. This man's advice comes from experience, and you can tell he is telling you the truth because it all makes sense if you really listen. Thanks so much Mr. Martin, not only for this video but for the years of fishing advice you have generously shared. I have watched your fishing shows since the early 1980's. I fish Lake Barkley, Kentucky Lake, and lots of streams around the middle Tennessee area, and utilize Roland's techniques. You gotta love Roland Martin if you are an outdoorsman.
Roland, I grew up with you, and Bill Dance, and I still own your baits, and have caught many a good fish on them. I'm thrilled to see you share your secrets and watch your videos catching bass close to your home and with your son Scott.. Keep teaching, and I'll keep learning.🤔🎣👍👍👍
Roland, REALLY LOVED the video n laughed super hard at the common sense idea of "just go HOME!" (Been there many times). Thanks for the knowledge - God bless 🤠👍
I remember Roland's fishing shows being on TV 40+ years ago. First time I've stumbled upon him on RUclips. This is a good video. The best tips for me were the bobber stop to hold the sinker close to the bait, and the swivel to hold the worm head tight to the hook eye. Only complaint: I wish he had a second camera set up for close-ups when he's describing the small stuff, like his swivel technique for holding the head of the worm on the hook. Would be nice to see it in detail. Other than that, excellent information from the voice of decades of experience and success. Roland is a fishing legend.
Roland sir your a legend and the reason i fish today. Ive watched you teach and share your secrets since i was knee high to a grass hopper. Thank you. Fishing.
I see you have some Berger Bullets on your bench. I see you not only know tons about fishing, you also know the secrets of accurate reloading! Seriously, I've been reading your articles and watching your shows for probably 35 years. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and entertaining us for all these years! - Dave Shimko / Elwood, IL
Yes I’m a Roland Martin U Tuber. Using you ‘‘tips for over 30 yrs .Thanks for the worming tips . Hope to see you at the BFL on Saturday at your Marina on the Big O.👍👊
Thanks Roland I'm 70 and I have been reading your articles and watching you for a long time alongside Bill Dance and Forrest Wood. I hope to learn more from your you tube videos. I learned something today. Have a blessed day.
Haven't seen your show in a while. Glad I found your channel. I'm watching your knot tying and now your worming lesson. Definitely subscribed to one of my favorite (but not able to find you on TV) fishing shows
I grew up watching you, you’re my favorite fisherman ever to watch and I am really happy that I found your RUclips channel, now I am bringing my eight-year-old boy up watching you also. I am from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and me and my buddy drove to Clewiston about 15 years ago and stayed at your fishing spot, we loved it, we rented a boat and had a blast down there. The only regret we had is we came in the summer, and we should’ve came In February or March. It was so hot that the fishing got tough after 9 o’clock in the morning. Sorry for rambling but i’m just glad that you have a channel.
Really like what Roland is talking about here efficiency is incredibly important when word fishing and fishing in general. All were really trying to do when we fish is learn. Learn what we’re dealing with and that leads to what the fish are eating. A worm is just a fish catcher but what we forget is how good it can be as an assessment tool for the cover we fish. Get out there make smart casts and throw a worm!
I worked on sugar cane farm and met Roland at a fish camp in Clewiston and talked to him again at Jack Wingate s lunker lodge always my favorite TV Fisher person. Just found his videos on RUclips love it.
Nice rod collection in the background. Most people probably didn't notice the reloading dyes and powder back there as well. Roland is a man of many hobbies I see.
thank you for your service and for all the years out there fishing and trying to help us weekend fishing guys also meet you years ago and you were a nice to me and my friend even when you were fishing for a win
Sending much respect to ya from Colchester, CONNECTICUT have been an avid Bass fishermen since my father started me fishing in the 70's and have been following you n gaining knowledge from you since the 80's n I would like to thank you for sharing that with us would love to make my down Florida to do so once in a lifetime Bass fishing well I hope someday with kids n bills nits just a pipedream for now but I'm grateful for the BASS I do have to fish here THANX AGAIN MR Martin
Looks like I'm not the only one who got a kick out of 25mph winds... I was expecting you to say something crazy like 3/4 oz weight... going home makes much more sense. I can't wait to apply these tactic thanks Roland!!!!
167 people decided they didn’t like fishing advice from Roland Martin. I’d love to hear the 167 reasons why Roland’s advice isn’t solid fishing info. Lol Great video, keep em coming!
Roland! you are the man! this advise is right on the money. I am having a ball. Thank you very much. I am a big fan of your videos and I'm spreading the word. keep'em coming. Thanks again, Frank (Ohio)
I've been watching Roland since the 1980s and he is still teaching me things all these years later. He has probably FORGOTTEN more about bass fishing than I'll ever know! God Bless you Roland!!
Mr Roland, Sir you have a life time of knowledge and thanks so much for the tips. I have been to your special place in Clewiston and can't wait to be back y'all have a paradise for fishing. I appreciate you promoting the products that work it takes the guess work out for all the people that follow your instruction and I believe in you my friend.
I am so glad I found you channel. Not new to Bass fishing ,but, very rusty. You have a way of teaching that does the job. Thank You so much for sharing your expertise.
Hey Roland! I learned a lot about fishing from you and maybe a few others. I'm glad you are still sharing what you know. I never knew you and Jimmy Houston were buddies and fishing buddies until I saw you guys on screen. It does make a lot of sense though. Keep it up. When I can't be fishing the next best thing is seeing you and Jimmy fishing.
66 years old and still learning from the Bass Master. Going to rig some worms tomorrow. Saved so I can watch several more times. Thanks
Hahahaha 25 mile per hour wind GO HOME! Hahaha priceless! Your awesome Roland!

Thanks for the support
We couldn't learn from a better teacher, thank you Roland 👊👊👍👍🍻🍺
Seriously one of the best wormin videos I've ever seen. Thanks Roland!
Thanks for serving our country. Excellent tips. Thanks for the reminder that the big fish are in heavy cover. I"ll have to try the swivel rig.

I am an old school teacher too. You are awesome as the kids would say. I might try worms for the umteenth time with all these tips.
Haven't seen your show in a while. Glad I found your channel. I'm watching your knot tying and now your worming lesson.
Definitely subscribed to one of my favorite (but not able to find you on TV) fishing shows
This is the single most useful video I have ever seen on how to fish soft plastics
I've watched Roland Martin for years, and he is a great teacher. I would love an afternoon on the water to learn from him. One of the best!
Great comment
I worked on sugar cane farm and met Roland at a fish camp in Clewiston and talked to him again at Jack Wingate s lunker lodge always my favorite TV Fisher person. Just found his videos on RUclips love it.
Great video. 50 years of experience in 20 minutes and I didn't have to read any books.Keep doing what your doing.
Nice rod collection in the background. Most people probably didn't notice the reloading dyes and powder back there as well. Roland is a man of many hobbies I see.
Picked all of that out…dies, powder, a Ruger box, rifles on the floor, reloading components. He’s definitely a shooter.
thank you for your service and for all the years out there fishing and trying to help us weekend fishing guys also meet you years ago and you were a nice to me and my friend even when you were fishing for a win

Roland Martin..the best ever. Always enthusiastic and fun to watch. Knows everything you can possibly know about fishing.
Lol
Great video, keep em coming!

Probably because he told them to go home if it's 25 mph wind lol
