You MUST see the Jan Weiner introduction part... they received an incredible 4-5 min standing ovation, and you could see it really touched them (and all Rush fans for that matter).
I thought both Dave and Taylor did a great job inducting Rush. They pointed all the things we love about these guys, integrity, hard working, super talented, and extremely humble human beings. They were definitely aided by the voice of their fan base as The committee allows for a fan vote to assist in deciding who gets in and Rush’s fan based obviously were heard, loud and clear. If you get the chance to see the entire event, especially their acceptance speeches it is well worth watching.
one of the best things every is that Geddy is wearing a shirt that says "Blah, Blah, Blah". too hilarious. Neil gives the poignant speech. Geddy gives the fans speech. and Alex just being himself. Best part you can actually understand everything Alex's says. great reaction.
You MUST hear the speeches, Alex basically goes down in history as the most audacious and wacked out speech ever given at the Rock Hall of Fame. And with Neil and Geddy standing behind planning to clock him over the head with the trophy and drag him off. It was totally spontaneous, Alex threw the wrench in and made the band shine even brighter!!
RHN, you’re a delightful human being and your passion for good music is infectious. As to Rush, this induction has been long overdue, and for all the reasons stated by Grohl. They defined such a large part of my youth, and Neil was the reason I became a drummer when I was young.
It's a teenager in the 70s I saw Rush in my hometown twice a year from 74 284 I have seen Rush 67 times in concert. My favorite shows were rush and Max Webster. I just love your show thanks. And the rush induct into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has to be the best induction ever. Just a thought from an old fat man LOL.
If you saw the introduction of the band, when they were introduced by Jann Wenner, the applause and deafening road in appreciation for them was such that they had to rise from their chairs and acknowledge the ovation they received. Wenner later said that he simply "had no idea" how popular they truly were. The omission that Wenner and company gave them for so many years was a joke. He's a joke and the HOF remains a joke. The fans demanded they got in and, in this case, the fans finally won.
Cheers! 🍻 😄 That photo of them is what you see when you open up the record 2112. They were well established potheads and world class rockstars. I saw and heard this at 14 years of age in the 70’s! Just slightly mind blowing. Ha Ha! I absolutely KNEW I had to see them live! And boy did I! 18 different tours over the decades. RUSH Night was always very special. VERY. A guy I was friends with’s older brother was one of the band’s long time drivers. We got to use that to our advantage sometimes when the band was in town which was on almost every single tour. San Antonio, TEXAS was a day one, RUSH stronghold because of a local Rock radio director who got ahold of their music very early on and was one of the very first people to put them on the radio in North America. They had a very strong built in market here from the beginning. We were VERY enthusiastic and the band never forgot that day one loyalty. That’s how I got to see them so much. San Antonio was a guaranteed tour stop and the band loved our city, not just the rabid fans. It was a THING! 😁👍 Stories for days……
I still tear up when I watch this video. As others have said, you need to keep watching. You need to see their speeches and the short set they play after.
I was there it was much longer opening applause than any of the videos present. It would be best if you watched the speeches they gave. One of the items that only those who were in the room got to experience was when they inducted Public Enemy Chuck D finished his speech by stating we all know why we are here and they started their musical section with a scratch of Tom Sawyer.
I thin KK’s the best part of this evening was when they were introducing all of the inductees at the beginning of the show. They left Rush for last and were smart doing it. The ovation that erupted lasted a solid 2 minutes.
BEST BAND EVER!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! It was a fantastic induction. You really should listen to their acceptance speeches. The are fantastic! Love you and your channel.
Okay, Red. A belated birthday greeting from San Diego's resident Rushoholic. I've always felt that the grooviest and the classiest folks were born in September. Neil's is on the 12th, yours, I gather, is on the 18th and mine is on the 28th. I rest my case. I don't need to know how old you've become and you don't need to know how young I'm going to become. There's a certain poignancy to the fact that at the time of this ceremony no one could predict how much Chris Cornell and Taylor Hawkins as well as Neil Peart were living on borrowed time. As are the rest of us. You'll see Chris further into the half hour or so remaining in this ceremony. The late comedian Jack Benny passed away at the age of 80 in 1974 which was the same year the debut album RUSH was released. Jack always was claiming to be eternally age 39. As I expect, you'll be reacting to Neil, who was 60 here, remark in the continuation of this video how Rush were in the middle break of a concert tour in their 39th year and how we should all stay 39. The band photo Dave Grohl spoke of originally appeared on the back of the gatefold sleeve of the long play vinyl record version of 2112. That was released on April Fools Day 1976. It's easy to chronologically name the 20 Rush studio albums, but can Dave name corresponding months and years like I can? Yours is an understandable reaction to Grohl's mentioning of Alex's skin-tight pants. You seemed to miss (or maybe you've played it back) Alex nearly falling out of his chair laughing while seated next to his wife Charlene. The 2008 appearance on THE COLBERT REPORT runs longer and was the 1st time in 33 years since the "Fly By Night" performance on DON KIRSHNER'S (spelling?) ROCK CONCERT in wnich Rush had done an appearance (except for possibly the New Jersey black and white 2112 concert footage) originating in America and then first shown on American broadcast TV or on American cable TV shortly afterwards. There, of course, were plenty of unfilmed recordings and shows done in America during this time. Finally, a snippet of the official "La Villa Strangiato" video popped up right before the COLBERT clip during the ceremony montage. I recommend checking out that full video. Red, you stay young and you stay classy...
You need to watch when the introduction was announced. The guy reading the card couldn't even get to name rush before the crowd erupted after he said "from Toronto Canada". You have to see the look on his face because the crowd reaction actually scared him as if someone said "boo" to him in the dark. He actually jumped at the crowds reaction.
btw, if you think it took a long time for Rush to get in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, just look at the Yes induction. btw, Geddy Lee played at the Yes Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.
"Very bittersweet watching this"! 💔Very well said. I'd suggest watching the extended version of the event for yourself. The best parts are not included in this clip unfortunately.
Happy Birthday!!!! May your day be filled with love, health, and happiness!!! Alex had the greatest acceptance speech of all time and space!!! You MUST do a part 2 to this where you see their acceptance speeches! You truly won't regret it!
If you haven't already, watch the introduction of the nominees by Jan Wenner of Rolling Stone. Other inductees were Heart, Donna Summer, Public Enemy et al. Polite applause. "And from Toronto...". The crowd goes nuts! Worth a watch
Saw them in Austin after this. A young lady brought out hundreds of cards with blah written on them. I was on the third row in front of Alex and he laughed his ass off😅. Saw them again at the amphitheater at the raceway in Austin for the r40 tour, second row in front of geddy. A lot of good times and smoked 🚬 many scoobs of the devil's lettuce (mee maw on young Sheldon's words) enjoying RUSH throughout my life time. I miss them. RIP NEIL!😊😊😊
Happy Birthday Red! 🎉🎂🎆 I never get tired of watching this. The intro when their name was called is amazing and their induction speeches are something to see especially Alex. 😉
Happy Anniversary to your 29th Birthday!!!!!! May this next trip around the sun be amazing!!!! Your bangs look amazing today!!!

I hope you had a great birthday 🥰 I love the comment about the photo of the band whose costumes were a little tight-fitting. 🤣 Your reaction is priceless! 7:16
Can't love this video enough, even though the RRHOF is blind for excluding them for so long. As others have said, you have to watch Alex's acceptance speech, it's hilarious. And the ovation they got when Wenner just mentioned their home town is just incredible.
The funniest induction speech is by Rick Wakeman during Yes’s induction. Geddy Lee filled in on bass during their performance due to the death of Chris Squire. Rick’s speech begins at the 6:53 mark. ruclips.net/video/cfa-WR_PEws/видео.htmlsi=RsGl6D2KkXIsMbHY
Happy Birthday!!! Hmm Virgo earth mama! Awesome sauce:0 That explains those beautiful clear eyes:) Al;ex and Neil both Virgo babies..cut to the chase! You should have let it run through the speeches the boys made! Alex's speech was LEGENDARY!!!
Can I name all those... YES in my sleep in order and can even throw the live albums in between the studio ones. Sigh of relief after 15 years eligibility and being snubbed, HELL IT'S ABOUT D### TIME. As for birthdays by brothers were determined to make me a Rush fan buying me one of their albums every year on my birthday till I bought Power Windows for myself.
Happy birthday gorgeous! I hope you have had a great day. It must have been with more Rush❤ It's been very special getting to know you and enjoying magical music. The only request today is that you enjoy it. It's your freaking birthday after all. ❤🎉
Wishing you a wonderful birthday! It's mine as well! I somehow had a hunch your birthday was today as crazy as that sounds. Love your reactions and you really come across as a great person. Keep up the amazing work from a fellow huge Rush fan!
Hey Red! HAPPIEST OF BELATED BIRTHDAYS!!!🎉 How fast did you start getting hit by fans telling you that you MUST react to the band's acceptance speeches!?!? Alex goes last, and his speech is SO funny! Ged and Neil dont know what to quite do with it, and their reactions are gold! I wish you every happiness, love the show, and am having the best time sharing your Rush journey! Be well!! ❤
Can you see and hear in your mind a similar induction speech (possibly also by Dave) in 20 or so years for The Warning? 😮 I absolutely can and I hope I live long enough to see it 🥰🤘⚡️Long live Rush!
Happy Birthday! This whole induction, speeches and music, was great! I actually watched it in it's entirety this morning lol. Wasn't my first time either and won't be my last! I love them 😊
Happy Birthday Red!!! Now you need to listen to the band's acceptance speeches. Alex... "Blah blah b-blah blah" Hahaha. You'll understand when you watch it. 😆
Happy belated Birthday, hope u had a good day, you r a delight in a dedark world? that's probably not right that last entry lol. glad you're a rush permanent fan member, and honoring rush. I like Alex speech; it should be taught as a second language, see what u think, in the second half, next time great reaction.
Not only can I name, by heart, every Rush album just like Dave Grohl, but I can do the same listing every song on every album in order! But Red, that was a cut down version of their induction! It's missing the original host announcement which is incredible, before Taylor and Dave took the stage, and the incredible, unforgettable speeches that Rush made after accepting the trophies, plus Dave and Taylor's cover song and Rush's song they played!

I knew they would induct Rush into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame sooner or later, I was just hoping that they would have the induction here in Cleveland when they did. I would have loved to have been there, but of course they had it in LA that year. You really need to watch there acceptance speeches. Alex was off the hook!
You HAVE to react to their acceptance speeches, especially Alex!
Send her the link then
Blah blah blah blah.. blah blah blah
This picks up right where this video ended and has the speeches.

100%!
Classic!
All three members were so dedicated to family . crew members . And friends . Never cheated divorced .
The band members would ride with the crew in the cabs of the Equipment trucks and just hang out with them. ,, Never acted like they were above them
You MUST see the Jan Weiner introduction part... they received an incredible 4-5 min standing ovation, and you could see it really touched them (and all Rush fans for that matter).
A band can impact so many lives in so many ways and I imagine there can't be many that have impacted more than Rush over so many decades.
I thought both Dave and Taylor did a great job inducting Rush. They pointed all the things we love about these guys, integrity, hard working, super talented, and extremely humble human beings. Yep. Can’t believe you didn’t do this part. You didn’t watch the whole thing.
HAHAHA!! Yes. I can name every album, including the live albums and concert videos, in order.
Rush got in the moment the RRHoF allowed the public to have a say
Happy birthday and thanks for spending so much time learning about Rush!!!!!❤❤
RHN, you’re a delightful human being and your passion for good music is infectious.
As to Rush, this induction has been long overdue, and for all the reasons stated by Grohl. They defined such a large part of my youth, and Neil was the reason I became a drummer when I was young.

Get on it Redhead😅
Despite the delay, I wish you a happy birthday. You are very beautiful and I love your reactions because they are very spontaneous. Hug from Brazil

You mentioned Max Webster. I'm off to see Kim Mitchell in a month. Red should react to Battlescar.

Wenner should have never been in charge ... he's a biased jerk!
Yes, that is a *must* see....absolutely, completly and totally. Have to see it.
Cheers! 🍻 😄
That photo of them is what you see when you open up the record 2112.

I wish you every happiness, love the show, and am having the best time sharing your Rush journey! Be well!! ❤
I took both of my children to see Rush on the R40 tour. I wanted them to be able to say they saw the best band that every played, when they got older.

It's missing the original host announcement which is incredible, before Taylor and Dave took the stage, and the incredible, unforgettable speeches that Rush made after accepting the trophies, plus Dave and Taylor's cover song and Rush's song they played!
What a trip. I followed because the channel is great but she also commented before but it looks like that stopped.
