I clean homes and some of my clients only like green products. An infallible way to clean the bathtub and leave it like new is to put in a spray bottle with water 1 tablespoons of Sal Suds, 10 drops each of tea tree and orange essential oils, baking soda and a magic eraser to scrub. I'm telling you, the tub looked as if I used bleach. It was white and sparkly! Same method for the ceramic sink and bowl, just use a bowl brush instead. I use this spray in both kitchens and bathrooms. It's also very effective to clean floors, baseboards, doors and door frames, light switches. It can also be used to clean mirrors and windows. I have two bottles of sal suds thinking I was going to ran out of it quick but I was wrong, I haven't even make a dent on the first bottle. Its half full and I make this cleaner very very often.
I will definitely be trying this!! I am starting to remove the chemical laden cleaners and moving towards better ones. Thanks for sharing! I love baking soda.
Sal Suds frees us a lot of real estate in the cabinet. It is super concentrated so it has a small foot print plus It replaces everything else. Its a minimalist dream cleaner. Hot water + Sal Suds = wonderful healthy fragrance = fun time cleaning
I have been using the almond scented one since my discovery of Dr. Bronner's liquid soap, but after I found out from Lisa that the peppermint is their best seller I will give that a try after I finish my current bottle. I am so thankful for Dr. Bronner for coming up with these natural soaps and sharing it to the world as these helped me solve my skin irritations before from the harmful ingredients from conventional soaps I used to shower with. Thank you also Lisa for the household tips and entertaining videos you make.
I ordered the almond scent, also. And I love it! But a couple of days ago I added a couple of drops of peppermint oil to my mop water. It was amazing! Now I want to order the Dr Bronner's Peppermint. Our home smells so fresh and I feel like it's getting into the Christmas spirit.
I just love this and learned something new! I already use your your liquid almond scented soap as my body wash. I also used it as a cleaner to get off stains on the carpet and it worked great. I also use your baby soap bar to wash my face and remove every trace of makeup. Now I will use the liquid like you said to clean my toilets! What a great tip and video. I always love your videos and the opening theme is the greatest! I only use green cleaners and your ideas make it so easy for us to do so. Thank you, Lisa!
Loved the Leave it to Beaver thing🤣. Thanks for the PSA, because I had no idea how to do this right. About 30 years ago I put some Sal Suds in the bowl and scrubbed it around. Oh noes.....never did it again.
Lisa you are the best. Thank you to Castile Liquid soap it saved my red red hands. Now they are baby white and soft and painfree again in one week. xxx \o/
@@GoingGreenwithLisaBronner you're welcome. I'm really enjoying the castile soap, cleaning everything with it. I just made the soft scrub today and wow it works wonderfully. Hey Lisa, could you advise on a non rinse all purpose cleaner? Can you dilute the sal suds or the original castile soap enough for a no rinse?
Great Video ! Oddly I just recieved Clean House, Clean Planet today in the mail. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos and reading this book.
Thank you so much for this information. I use the peppermint one in our house. I would like to make the all purpose spray what would the measurements be in the UK. Thank you again
What about mineral buildup? We had so much mineral buildup that we had to buy an acid cleaner. The toilet was clogging. Can any of these cleaners take care of that problem?
We don't sell t-shirts, unfortunately, but we do have hats and other fun items in the gift section of our webstore: shop.drbronner.com/collections/gifts-samplers
Hi there! GIY means Green-It-Yourself. It’s a term I came up with that means making “greener versions of cleaning or body products without harsh or potentially harmful ingredients. My definition of green harkens back to my mom’s advice: Leave the place better than you found it. The places we’re leaving better are our earth, our homes, and ourselves.
@@julieluckey3559 Hi Julie- Under normal circumstances vinegar causes Castile soap to unsaponify and turn into a goopy mess. However, in the GIY Soft Scrub recipe, the baking soda is more readily available than the soap, so the vinegar chooses to react with that first. But, if you have too much vinegar, it’s going to use up the baking soda and then move on to the soap. That’s why the ratio is so important.
Hi Constance - Sal Suds is our biodegradable household cleaner. It doesn't react with the minerals in hard water, which makes it especially good for shiny things or in hard water conditions. You can read about the differences between the two in this article on my Going Green blog: www.lisabronner.com/sal-suds-or-castile-soap-which-one-should-you-use/
Hi Ashwath- Sal Suds is a biodegradable, mild non-toxic detergent and is a versatile household cleaner. But, not everything synthetic is bad, in the way that not everything natural is good. Sal Suds readily biodegrades, cleans and rinses with exceptional power, and is effective in hard or soft water. It is also is 100% cruelty-free and does not contain synthetic dyes, fragrances or preservatives. If you have concerns using a detergent for household cleaning, our Castile Soaps can be used for both personal and household use. I cover the difference between Sal Suds and Castile Soap in this post over on my Going Green blog, www.lisabronner.com/sal-suds-or-castile-soap-which-one-should-you-use/.

I don't want to think about it. I live in an apartment building. As an apartment dweller, I am very aware of what I do that might effect others and vice a versa. So, my bathroom drains backed up. Not my fault, its caused by my neighbor who shares the drain pipe to the building's stack pipe. I don't want to think about it. The floor of my shower is a bio-hazard. Lots of tiles, lots of grout for things to stick to. I don't want to think about it. The windows are wide open and the doors are closed. I don't want to think about it. But eventually, I will have to clean that floor. What can be SEEN will be rinsed down the drain by the guys, but what CAN'T be seen, that's my problem. I will spray my Dr. Bonner's General Spray Cleaner with it's Tea Tree essential oil all over the floor, rinse with the shower sprayer & repeat. I'll do that until I feel safe, and then I'll use the spray cleaner and a scrub brush. Then I'll leave the spray on for a while and then rinse. It will smell clean and actually be clean!

Thanks for watching! The metric measurements are 60 mL Castile soap added to 1 Liter of water.
Lisa Bronner amazing thank you for replying.

🤣😂🤣😂..love IT...
What about mineral buildup? We had so much mineral buildup that we had to buy an acid cleaner. The toilet was clogging. Can any of these cleaners take care of that problem?
For minerals that are dissolved by acid, vinegar is a great option.
@@GoingGreenwithLisaBronner Thank you!
Can you make the soft scrub by mixing Sal Suds and Baking soda?
HI Stephanie- There's a little more chemistry involved. Check out my video for the recipe: ruclips.net/video/kyfh3MJc28E/видео.html.

GIY?

In this case vinegar and Castile together is okay? I remember hearing never to mix those two.
I wouldn't recommend them mixing because vinegar is a base and both baking soda and Castile soap are bases so they cancel eachother out.
Eco Clean Queen ok! So I guess the GIY softscrub she mentions in the video isn’t good to make? Maybe it’s just good for the ‘scrub’ aspect
