How to scratch build detailed seatbelts for scale model plane cockpits

  • This video shows you how to scratch build your own detailed pilot's harness or seatbelts for scale model aircraft cockpits. All you need is two dirt-cheap materials: thin wire and masking tape (any brand will do). Lots of older plane kits have no seatbelts, or crappy low-detail belts moulded on to the pilot's seat - with this technique you can make your own at NO COST and save on expensive photo etched seatbelts, the easy way to superdetail a fighter cockpit. That is a cheap model maker's dream, and the detail is great! ;)
    The model I am building is the ancient old Hasegawa 1/32 scale P-51D Mustang.
