    Hi, can you tell me what dado stack you use please? I’m in the UK and would love to try and get hold of a set for my saw. Thanks

    This an eye opener! I thought the Rage5 couldn’t take a dado stack. Who makes them and are they 25.4 bore? Cheers 👏🌹🇦🇺✌️

    Great well presented video Cy, clear and concise, I've made two of these on your pattern one for 90 and one for 45 degree cuts, they work very well, in the UK dado stacks aren't really allowed for DIY purposes, deemed as 'too dangerous' (really !!). I don't know if they import to the USA but Saxton blades (UK) make excellent saw blades to fit the 'unusual' bore size of Evo saws, sometimes they're on Amazon I believe

      I think that dado stacks are allowed for DIY/home workshops....but not for organisations that are regulated and subject to the Health and Safety Executive controls.

    Perfect timing! I’m in the UK and have had the saw for a couple of years and am literally in the middle of making a clearance plate. I’ve sat down for lunch, put RUclips on and there you are. Fantastic thank you

    Loved the video, will surely give it a go. I was under the impression that this particular saw didn't/couldn't accommodate dado blades, could you please give more info, esp. make and where they can be purchased and further info on how you installed them. Asking a lot I know, but here's hoping. Many thanks.

      It can only accommodate a 1/4 inch set of dado blades. Which sucks but is better than only 1/8. Any 8 inch dado set will work you just can only fit the 2 outer blades on it.

    Nice, will have to keep this in mind, I'm sure the same technique can be used for other saws.

      It so far has been a good saw. My only complaint is the arbor being so darn short.

    Excellent tutorial! Thanks for sharing. Nice simple solution to replacing the truly awful plastic throat plate that comes with this, otherwise excellent table saw. I recently looked at the possibility of purchasing a 3D printed zero clearance plate, but at almost $30 dollars, I decided to give it a miss. Like the other UK based viewer, I am also amazed at seeing a dado stack being fitted to this machine. I have often wondered if the reversible washing you referred to could simply be replaced, allowing the saw to accept standard blades - 30mm bore here in the UK.
    Anyhoo, thanks for sharing!

    I had the same problem with a z clear plate once on a job site saw and it was so thin at the edges i had to make a metal one that had a wooden insert in the center for the saw blade. It took me about two weeks to get it right.

    did you ever do a review of this table saw? Interested in how accurate it is - i.e. is the fence reliable, how much play in the cross cut slider etc. Also really surprised to see a dado set on it :-)

    Can't understand why saws don't come with an adjustable plate or an attachment.

    Great video Cy. Thanks. I’m doing to make one or two of these for my Rage 5S. I’m just wondering how you made the slot for where the riving knife goes? Obviously, the knife won’t cut, so I thought you may have cut the plate once set in correctly, then again upside down.

    • @DIYwithUncleCy
      @DIYwithUncleCy  3 года назад

      I just cut the slot with the saw from the back stopping before getting to the front. Then glued a small curf wide piece in at the back. To hold the two-sided together there. Good luck and thanks for watching.

      You can get a nice kerf space for the riven knife if you flip the throat plate, so cut the slot as per video then turn the throat plate over (front to back) You will want to support the throat plate with some board on the opposite side (left) to the guide that holds down the right edge because it's not hooked in - it's just a precaution. I would also not neglect to add the front lock as well as I have seen quite. few video not include it, you can do that with a washer with two parallel edges sanded and an asymmetrical hole drilled to form a pill shape lock.
