    In fact, a software update for the OnePlus 12 with AI features was just released for the Chinese models. Furthermore, that same update is scheduled to be released for the global variance in the near future. Frankly, I don't find that surprising. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 generation 3 SOC is a fully capable AI platform. Logically, AI features via system updates was inevitable.
    I'm gratified that OnePlus resisted the tide and stuck to the curved glass design. It is far more ergonomic and comfortable to hold in the hand. Personally, I detest these flat slab Flintstone phones that seemed to be the new trend. Their perpetual right angles, bulky design and total lack of design creativity summon up images of a cheap funeral casket. That may be fine for fred, Barney and the boys down in bedrock but, I'll take the elegant curved glass design any day.
    As for myself, I chose the OnePlus 12 and I'll tell you why. Unless you really need an s pen and some bits of titanium why spend the extra money? In fact, this year I would purchase the s24 plus before I would the ultra. Samsung finally upgraded the plus model with quad hd, 12 g of ram, larger battery capacity and gave it much better build quality. However, the s24 plus was my second choice. I've been using the OnePlus 12 for several days now and it's an absolute beast. In addition, as a legally blind low vision user I find the added screen brightness to be extremely helpful. Once more, due to BBK electronics holding the patent on their proprietary super vooc charging technology, Samsung will never be able to compete with them in that arena.

    • @VitiateTheImmortal
      @VitiateTheImmortal 3 месяца назад +1

      I agree with totally! The curved edges are a love or hate it thing and I prefer them.
      Oneplus is probably my overall favorite phone atm and an AI update just gonna further prove the point. It has so many advanced features like IR blaster, aqua touch, fast charging, smoother UI, better camera (thats a subjective one i know) etc that i haven't touched my s24U since it arrived

    • @dr.fitprofessor4363
      @dr.fitprofessor4363 3 месяца назад

      @@VitiateTheImmortal in fact, I've always loved Samsung products. However, their design language is absolutely awful. Of course, that's just my opinion. The squared edges and perpetual right angles drive me crazy. You think that for $1,300 and up that Samsung could design a device that didn't summon up visions of a funeral home. Of course, this is all subjective and others may feel differently.
      I've actually been using OnePlus devices for a while. I started back in 2020 with the OnePlus 8T and moved up to the 11 early last year. They are both incredible devices and I still own both of them. I just received my 12 a couple of weeks ago. I can't tell you what a game changer it actually is. Truthfully, I feel that it's the best device I've ever used.

    I have two lines, one of which is my primary line. I use the S24 Ultra on that line and the OnePlus 12 on my other line. I have been alternating the phones when I leave the house and so far they are comparable. I've encountered a couple of bugs on the OnePlus 12 but the photos I take on the phone are just as good as on the Ultra. Once I obtained the Note 20 Ultra almost 4 years ago, I stopped carrying my bulky digital SLRs with multiple lenses to parties and other events. The phone cameras are so good nowadays. They produce gorgeous photos without fiddling with a lot of settings like I used to do with my DSLRs. It has made my picture taking much simpler. I have the best of both worlds right now with both phones in hand and why not? Life is short and all that.

      @@jayakumarm1987 The battery of the OnePlus 12 seems to last longer than the Ultra. It discharges less than the Ultra overnight. The both last the entire day without charging. As for cameras, they are comparable but the Ultra is better in producing a zoomed image. The OnePlus can go up to 10X but it's digital. The optical zoom is 3X. If you have a recent phone to trade in for $600 or more, get the S24 Ultra. If not, the OnePlus 12 is the much better value. I traded in my Note 20 Ultra to get $600 off. I got $100 off the OnePlus by trading in a broken old phone. I paid $699 for it. I did get the 1TB S24 Ultra with discounts including veteran's discount for $791.

      I ended up buying both as well! lol. i also have 1 phone lines. i had a S23U and a old LGV60 with a bad battery and charging port.
      originally i was just going to upgrade the V60 with the s24, and get the $650 instant rebate under googlefi.
      then a few days later the OP12 came out, and it was so good that i cancelled my S24 order, and ordered the OP12 with the free 512gb upgrade and $100 instant trade in rebate.
      then im like, crap, i can sell my s23 and still get the $650 instant rebate. so I ordered the s24 again and am planning to sell my s23 which i had also bought with a $600 rebate.

      @heroedeleyenda05 3 месяца назад

      @@jayakumarm1987 I also own both phones,. if money is no factor, the s24U is the best phone.
      if you do care about price, it all depends on what deals you get.
      if you pay full price, the OP12 is the best value by a lot, its not even a competition.
      I got my S24U unlocked with a $650 instant rebate and free 512gb upgrade from GoogleFi for being an existing customer. (under a 4 month "contract")
      and i got my OP12 unlocked, with a free 512gb upgrade and $100 instant trade in rebate for sending a broken phone. (no contract)
      under those terms. the S24u is a slightly better deal than the OP12 and if I had to choose i would go for the S24U.
      the return of the flat screen is a big plus for me on the S24u, i really dislike curved screens. (im a long time note user, so the curved screen kills the stylus for me)
      but out of both phones, the one that has the biggest quality of life improvement that i have applied to my life is the OP12
      and it comes from its huge battery life, and CRAZY FAST CHARGING.
      the battery life and charging on the OP12 is truly game-changing. not only does it last a long time, but you can charge it from 0 to 50% in like 15 minutes.
      which is huge for me.
      on my daily life i keep my phones constantly charging. I charge them overnight, i charge them on the car, and i charge them at work.
      but on my days off, i often forget to charge my phones, so if i need to quickly run to the store, i just need to plug my OP12 for 15 minutes, and that gets me 50% charge.
      i can plug in my phone, grab my keys, change clothes, leave the house, and my phone will have hours of battery life.
      even if i need to leave really fast, the phone can charge at 70W with my car charger!!!!
      usually, on a ride to the store, my regular car charger will charge my S24 by about 2 or 3% in a 5 min ride to the store.
      the OP12 gets me an extra 15%, which is huge! 15 % life on the op12 equates to about 3 hours of usage.
      also, when charging the S23U and S24U, have had Abyssmal charging rates. they advertize 45W wired charging rates, but ive never seen them charge at more than 20w, even when im using a 100w charger.
      so, with my OP12, at any given time of the day i never have to worry about a low battery. thats just not an issue anymore.
      lastly , security. ONEPLUS is a chinese company. in china, the government can tell companies what to do at any given time. so your information is never truly safe. they have demonstrated this with the Huawey and ZTE data leaks.
      so, if you work for any government, or any company that grants you access to sensitive data, i would say stay away from oneplus at all costs!!!!!!

    The price range ($699-$899) is great, here in the US for example, if you're a photographer and want a value, Pixel 8 Pro. If you're not, OnePlus 12 has an absolute killer set of specs.

    I've never used a case for any of my phones since 1996. (Obviously, back before smartphones, cases weren't needed the same way, but still.) Only phone I ever bought a screen protector to was my Nokia N900, but that was a plastic screen, so it was more sensitive to scratches. Despite that, I rarely see any scratches on my phones, but I _have_ managed to crack the screen twice over the years (maybe 6-8 years ago).

So I don't use case protector all the time, only in some specific situations, such as when charging it and to prevent it from slipping on the surface, or when I have to leave it in my backpack or bag for several minutes, and other similar specific situations. But in general, I do not like to use the device with a protector because it considerably increases its size and weight, it becomes like a huge door, and all the in-hand sensations of the construction and materials are lost. You lose everything premium when using it with a case protector. That's my perspective I wanted to share. Good content you have! Bravo!

    There's one detail that you forgot to mention. Samsung is offering 7 YEARS OF UPDATES. And most American carriers don't offer OnePlus anymore. My last two phones were one pluses. The 7pro and the 10pro. Both phones barely lasted 2.5 yrs because the fast charging wears the battery out quicker. Something to think about.

    IMO the S24 Ultra is not worth the $500 price difference over the OnePlus 12. I can understand why it is for some but for me and most people its definitely not. Also at its price point the OnePlus 12 absolutely destroys the S24 and S24+ which is more what the phone is meant to compete with. The fact that its even somewhat competitive with the Ultra should tell you just how good for the money the OnePlus 12 is

    The titanium barrier is such a gimmick lol, another RUclipsr melted the s24 ultra down to separate the titanium so you can see how much is on the phone and it's a lower quality titanium than the iPhones use to start but it's also a very very thin coating on it just for aesthetics and so that they can say they use titanium to make the phones. The actual strength it'll give to the phone is minimal. Not hating on the s24 ultra btw, it's a fantastic phone my best friend has one but I went for the OP12 due to budget differences. Both fantastic phones

    You misinterpreted the brightness numbers there. Those numbers are the peak brightness, not the full screen brightness you likely have in mind. The S24U actually has a substantially higher full screen brightness, and it will only be triggered when the phone detects it's in direct sunlight. You can't just slide both to max and compare what you see. Try shining a flashlight on the front facing camera for 10-20 seconds and you'll see how bright it actually can get.

    • @MarksTech
      @MarksTech  4 месяца назад +3

      @@gs2365 well.. youre still wrong. Fast charging has little to do with battery degradation. As I mentioned in the video, HEAT is the enemy of battery. Heat actually destroys the cells of the battery. If fast charging is optimized and handled well, there wont be an issue.
      also, not to mention the fact that OnePlus uses dual-cell batteries. So, its not one battery taking 80w, but two batteries. One takes 40w, and the other takes 40w so it splits the energy. Also there are safeguards in place, such as slowing the current if the phone gets too warm. Battery tech has improved, and optimizations have improved as well. I fast charge all my devices and battery has remained within the normal spec.

    • @Broski__
      @Broski__ 4 месяца назад +1

      With OnePlus fast chargers, the heat builds up in the charging brick, not the phone itself. So it doesn't damage the batteries.
