    I sent my P238 to Sig for an ambi-safety and SIG wood grips (replacing the ugly gray ones). Little over $100 but worth it.

    There’s a kimber micro 9 torture test if you have doubts of the kimbers reliability 💀 shot 500 rounds and about 100-150 with dirt poured straight into the action

    AFTER I made spacers for my Kimber Micro 9 mags so they functioned correctly all my problems sort of went away..it shoots now..before the mags would not seat or lock in place...it's Sept 2022 and I bought my 6 months ago..took it to the range two weeks ago and the mags keep falling out..all four of them..and the rounds just stovepiped now and then as well...how could Kimber not know this???? Anyway I like my Micro 9..it's small..cool and packs a 9 mm punch...what's not to like..unless you just hate Kimber?

    I EDC my micro 9 nightfall in an allen size 00 iwb holster in my right front pocket with no issue. I used to carry an antique iver johnson top break hammerless .32 and feel better carrying my micro 9. I 100% agree about only getting 1 mag!

    I am really fascinated by your assertion that these guns won't last as long as the Glock or Shield. Do you have any actual data from other tests or sources? Not trying to dog you on this, but that's a pretty big claim to make and not give evidence to back it up. Same/ same with your reliability claim, both immediate and over time. Do you have any data to support this?

  • @invictawarrior
    @invictawarrior 4 года назад +5

    Not going to last that long? Buddy the Glock 43 or M&P Shield will be on it's third lower before you shoot out the other two. The Glocks are like the AK-47 of pistols. The chambers are like big Bertha in that there is quite a bit of tolerance in the loading chamber. That's why you void the Glock warranty if you shoot reloads. What specifically will quite running on the Kimber and Sig?

    An ambi-safety is useful for righties too... should one ever need to fire with the left (weak) hand.

    Did you say a plastic gun will last longer than an aluminum frame? Only plastic gun I've owned broke right away. It was a Chinese built water pistol.

  • @kimisdaman

    What makes you think they won't last? I have 2500 rounds through my SIG, and there are no signs of wear on it. And, why "finicky"? I've had two failures to extract, and three failures to feed - all three feed failures with the same ammo - but no other functional issues. Do you think there is much value in the ability to rack the slide with the safety engaged? Being a 1911 guy, I don't use the feature and would prefer a better-shaped safety, instead.

    • @tomkane1072
      @tomkane1072 5 лет назад

      I was going to comment on round count as well, I have well over 2500 rounds downrange and no wear to speak of. I'm still on my original recoil spring, and mainspring. It's a nice carry gun, and I've carried it daily for the past 2 1/2 years. Like what you carry, and carry what you like and it will always perform the way you want it to.

      @@tomkane1072 Sorry for the late replies on these. I was not trying to say these are doomed to fail out of the box. In fact I still have not had a problem out of either of these. However these weapons are more likely to have failures down the line or even out of the box than their competition. That is based strictly on the complexity of construction. Quality control becomes more of an issue with handguns like these.

    • @zipstactical2454
      @zipstactical2454  5 лет назад

      I see no real value in being able to rack the slide with safety engaged. It probably holds value to someone less experienced though. I certainly agree that a more ergonomic safety is what I would prefer.

      It'll outlast a Glock in that the lower on a Glock will wear out long before the Metallic/Alloy lower on the Sig or the Kimber. 1). Get video camera. 2) Get firearms. 3) Instant expert.

    I like the 4 ounces less weight when loaded then polymer pistols in 9mm, easy through in your pocket and go with kimber micro 9mm, I'm not going to a Hollywood gun fight, just shooting the bad guy down at Walgreens, don't need 20 bullets, practice, practice, practice makes perfect, shoot the bad guy before he shoots you, if you don't practice enough then atleast get a green laser grips,
    Definitely pocket carry with holster my kimber micro 9mm all the time except banks and federal buildings
    Again practice, practice, practice makes perfect
    My kimber micro 9mm loves all rounds and grain sizes
    Now I sat on couch and racked the slide and released it 500 times breaking it in, stripped it, cleaned with breakfree citrus spray, wiped and oiled and lubed

  • @thebusterdog921
    @thebusterdog921 5 лет назад +2

    One thing I've noticed in my 50+ years of shooting pistols, the smaller the gun the more finicky they are about the quality and the grain size of the ammo. Owning both of those pistols I can tell you for a fact neither likes 115gr ammo, and neither likes cheap big box store ammo. Reserve that crap for your polymer striker fired garbage that at best will be shot out and worthless in 5 years. Both the Micro9 and the P938 should with proper care last you for a lifetime. Keep them clean and well oiled, buy good quality ammo. Revolver? Revolver? Did I miss something? Did we suddenly return to the 1880's?

    This is honestly a really hilarious review. You keep talking about how they are not as reliable as a Glock 43 and that they are known for being finicky. You keep saying that between the two you can't really make a wrong decision, but you wouldn't care either one. I don't think you realize how much double talkin you're doing in this review. LOL. It was very entertaining for me to listen to though. LOL🤣🤣

      This is what you get when a hopelessly addicted Glock fanboy reviews ANY other firearms! The Glock is superior in every way and the other guns suck -- that is what is going to happen, and did happen. The review would have been acceptable had he not unnecessarily bashed the Sig and the Kimber.

    My carry is a Colt Defender 45 but have 1000's of rounds and maybe around 400 or so Plus-P's shot through the Kimber Micro 9 Nightfall dn . Only upgrade I did was to install the M-CARBO trigger spring kit before the first shot was even taken. 5.9 trigger pull stock...With M-CARBO kit.. average 3.4. Wife has had only 2 rounds malfunction and that was primer issues not one from the mag. No jams. The wife carry's the Micro-9 and shoots weekly with it. SO.. Zips...since you are bias and so in love with glock..get your wife the glock..

      Just an observation. Your free to prove me wrong. But I have yet to see one that can maintain a high round count. It is was never built with that in mind, and honestly thats completely fine. If you are familiar with the 1911 and want a smaller option this would be a good carry gun. However it is not a range gun and cannot be expected to shoot "1000's of rounds" like some people claim. I even said in the video that my wife carries it. Which means I obviously trust it enough. Sorry you didn't like the video.
