I am calling Julius. In Dawn of Sorrow, Soma uses seals to prevent powerful demons from regenerating. Julius to that says "Nah, i'd win" and just kills them before they can regenerate. In case anyone has their doubts - Soma is the cocking reincarnation of Dracula, with ability to dominate souls of demons, and, as of the events of Dawn, KILLED CHAOS ITSELF. He is an absolute beast among men. And he finds the feat Julius is said to accomplish 'impossible'. Hell, in Aria of Sorrow, he says Julius was holding back when fighting him after throwing absolute hands at Soma. Not to mention he is hecking 55 years old in Aria. Can you imagine him young, without a bad back? Yeah, exactly. A monster.
Julius has a weapon specifically for killing evil, Soma doesn't have that so it's not really the same. I do think Julius is the strongest though. IIRC, Dracula gets stronger with each reincarnation, so theoretically each Belmont has to be stronger than the last to take Drac down, or have a bunch of allies. Julius has both.
He ain’t the strongest (maybe physically) but Simon is an impressive case. Dude not only beat Drac the first time but was cursed afterwards and managed to trek the whole country multiple times while fighting monsters EVERY DAY until he finally resurrected Dracula and kicked his ass AGAIN.
Simon fought him at full power too by himself. Dracula had the full 100 years to resurrect by himself when Simon fought him the first time which puts Dracula at full power. The second time he fought the same thing Juste fought which was Dracula in a wraith form, so that means Juste fought Dracula too if you’re counting Simon’s second fight. Then Juste was the most magically inclined, the closest to that would be Richter.
I always assumed Dracula looked so "Skeleton like" in Simon’s Quest because of how immediate/incomplete his resurrection was, so I can definitely see that being his Wraith form in retrospect!
Sure but Dracula's full power in the 1600s is not on the same level as Dracula's dull power during the 1999 eclipse. That Dracula was set to cause Armageddon and required considerable planning to defeat but he was just that formiddable. Alucard spent centuries preparing.
@@marche800 This is 100% true. Dracula was at his "True" Full power during 1999 only. And maybe in Judgment too, but that’s only speculation by myself and others that the Dracula from Judgment is actually the version of him from 1999 LOL.
Not to mention that when facing Dracula a second time. Simon was facing a curse placed on him which was slowly ravaging his body and killing him over a period of six years, and was basically at death's door.
Hamon is pretty useless, as he doesn't have any ranged weapon, let alone one that is compatible with Hamon (except maybe the Pluck sword but it's not tnough against a whole whip)
I think Simon is the greatest Belmont. Keep in mind, in his second fight with Dracula, his back was broken, and he was dying from a curse. Yet Simon still beat Dracula again while he was alone.
Its kinda hard to decided in my opinion. Theres 3 Belmonts who can take the title. 1) Julius was able to end Dracula when he was the strongest and finishing him forever. 2) Richter is the youngest, and his magic capabilities were insane but he was mind controlled and needed help from Alucard to snap him out of it. 3) Juste, this is kinda hard because he is insanely powerful in the magic arts that he barely needed the whip, but he was a man born in the wrong time, unfortunately.
I’m happy to see a lot of people make a case for Juste! Didn’t expect to see that which is great. Being the most powerful Belmont magic user gives him a huge edge over many of the others, but Richter or Julius in his prime are the only ones that might be able to match or surpass his magic prowess yeah.
Julius didn’t really end Dracula. He had the most help out of all the Belmonts. So without said help he would have did what every other Belmont did. Richter for all his accomplishments, ability and power he was a failure. Juste is the most powerful magically. I don’t understand about him when you say he was born in the wrong time. I mean if we did have Juste there would be no Richter. I mean he is his grandfather so I’m sure that’s who taught him or son who passed it down to him how to do the item crushes that he’s known for.
@@StockeTepessame but I think Julius gets too much credit most of what he does it kinda heresy. Also he had way too much help compared to his counterparts. I’d give him a bit more if he was trained by Johnathan and got the whip from him too. That last part was me buying in to my fantasy.
@@VigneIII My issue with Juste is that he farted around Dracula's castle playing interior design decorator while Maxim did all the heavy lifting. Barley lifting a finger to save the girl maybe even intentionally tried to let maxim die so he could get the girl. He's a terrible Belmont depite how powerful and broken he is.
@@Shiro5735 how? He had no idea what was happening until his friend got knee deep in shit he couldn’t even handle. Then said friend enlisted the help of another friend who’s not even a vampire hunter. Now Maxim’s intentions were good but seem a Belmont and Alucard can handle Dracula’s body parts. So it was Juste trying to fix a problem that Maxim started that he didn’t even know about. So now he’s ball deep in a Dracula situation and has to save 2 friends one of them is turning into a vampire and the other is either being turned or eaten by the same friend who got into this bs in the first place.
@@StockeTepes dont forget that out of all the belmonts before and after him simon was the biggest and most imposing Belmont. no wonder dracula had to weaken him for their rematch just to even the fight.
If we're just talking canon? It's Julius But other timelines? I'd argue Gabriel is probably the strongest. Literally God's chosen warrior on Earth, he was already super powerful in LoS 1, being able to defeat Satan, the literal Devil, by himself. Not to mention Lords of Shadow 2 ending with him outright killing Satan. From my memory, Gabriel is the only Belmont we've seen that's able to permanently kill a Divine Entity, albeit a fallen Angel. There is a bit of ludonarrative Dissonance where Gabriel is able to kill Satan but some random fatass demon with a Grenade Launcher is completely immune to his attacks, but gameplay aside I'd say Gabriel still is the peak of Belmont power
Honestly I would love to see a clash between a character from the classic series and Lord of Shadow timeline one day, although I know it’ll likely never happen 😂 Their enemies and fighting styles are so different when you get into the nitty gritty… I really wonder how someone like Richter could match up to a different entity like Gabriel/Dracula
@@StockeTepesi would really like a sequel to Judgment that brings in characters from the classic timeline, the LoS timeline, and the Netflix series timelines, and throws in a few other non-canon characters for good measure like Sonia and Kid Dracula
Gabriel didn't *_just_* become Dracula, he took over the throne and power of the *_Prince of Darkness_* - a being more powerful than the Devil himself.
I think the issue with tackling something like this is that each Belmont has various different Win conditions when facing the Count himself. Thus making it really confusing on who really had to flex their muscles. Based on what has been said and shown, I still gotta give it to Richter. It's a bit unfair, given that he's been in the most games since his debut, but the man really showcases what the best of the Belmonts can do. He's known for having the best Physical and Magical traits of his ancestors as he's the first to invent the "Item Crash" technique, has superior movement, and unlocks the potent powers for all of the Belmont Clan's Iconic Sub-weapons. "But Richter was Mind-Controlled by Shaft! His mental fortitude was arguably the worst of all of his past and future family members!” Yes, but I think it’s important to note that Richter was the Youngest Belmont to fight Dracula at the age of 19. (Juste technically was the youngest at 18, but he didn’t fight Dracula so I’m not counting that.) I don’t know about you, but being at that age, and knowing that you’re the youngest in your clan that can do what most of your ancestors couldn’t do, and only your predecessors AFTER your death could do, you might be a little cocky from that kind of high. Nevertheless, Shaft did use that to his advantage and attacked his weak-spot. But to me, I don’t really see this as any different as when Dracula used Christopher’s son against him. His son was a weak-point in a roundabout way, but we don’t really put that on him the way that we do with Richter. So no, I don’t really count that against Richter, and arguably give more favor to him, since even Shaft could recognize that he is and probably will be the strongest Belmont to ever live. If for some reason, you make a full fledged video on this topic, I’d love to hear your takes!
Agreed! To be honest that’s what makes richters character so compelling, even if it makes him look "weak" in a power comparison with his family 🤣 But maybe yeah! If enough people are interested in the topic I’d love to share the opinions expressed here in a full video later 😱 These RUclips shorts have been fun but it’s definitely not my main jam LOL
Julis Belmont was born in 1980. He defeated Dracula in 1999. He was also only 19 when he beat dracula for good. If you go by the bad ending. He defeated Soma or new dracula at the age of 56. Not to bad.
How is Gabriel only a mention at the end?! That’s criminal. Literally becomes Dracula in one of the craziest lore fights ever and runs the fade on his timelines most dangerous evil bad TWICE!!
RUclips Shorts are only one minute, so I could only focus on the mainline Belmonts for this one 😭 But if enough people want a full video, I’m happy to share the opinions expressed here when delving into it proper in the future 😈
I think that juste's power level can be scaled around julius. Juste was the youngest to weild the vampire killer and the first belmont to combine magic spells with items (beside leon and his magical statues). Also, Juste seemed to be taller than regular characters meaning that he was probably strong physically. Finally, in Harmony of dissonance we can encounter simon's wraith and it's a skeleton that has simon's spirit with all his fighting abilities and juste literaly destroyed these enemies within a few blows... So Juste might be one of the strongest belmont in the whole clan especially if we consider that he was very young when he faced dracula and had a lot more potential to unlock
Julius almost killed Soma, thats when he was half a century old. Julius is easily the most powerful overall with magic and physical might. Simon is definitely the strongest physically, Richter in some regard was strong but he doesn't hold a whip (no pun intended) against either Simon or Julius because one was basically conan the barbarian with throwing axes and one was van helsing with final fantasy ancient magic.
@@TheVoltDenatsu when did he “almost” kill Soma? If you look at Richter’s sprite he’s in pretty good shape but in a battle of pure strength he’s not gonna beat Simon. He’ll walk Julius tho.
You'd see the second closest thing in him taking on Soma in Dawn of Sorrow's Julius mode, but to see the real deal, Konami would need to get their head out of their ass and give us a new Castlevania games set in the time of this fated eclipse
@@EI_Ferchos agreed. Because what we got in AoS was cool but extremely watered down when the compared to his other counterparts and don’t get me started on DoS. That Julius was… I mean got damn! They bastardized him so bad. I mean his only attributes were reach and his sub-weapons and Yoko’s spells are just as good if not better. So now it’s down to reach and certain enemies he can hurt more than the other two. Now for Mr. Broken aka Alucard. They made him the most limited but he still had the most weapon speed than any of the characters (he can swing his weapon the fastest, has 2 means of flight or infinity jump. His slowest move is Hellfire and even that does pretty good damage. Besides his lack of a move set he plays pretty much like he does in SOTN speed an all.
@@StockeTepes got a question for you. Why do you think folks don’t give Leon proper respect when it comes to who he fought? Meaning they like to pull out the “be he didn’t defeat Dracula” when he fought and beat the guy who Dracula got his powers from. I mean it’s that the same thing besides the name? I mean technically you can say the same for everyone else who fought Dracula that they fought Walter too.
It's julius. I dunno WHY this is a debate when his boss fight in aria has a very stronge but subtle detail. His attacks never do holy damage, yes you heard that right. Every attack he did on soma had no holy attributes. The game is literally showing thay julius was holding back on soma.
@@StockeTepesIn a battle of attrition. Dario kept on regenerating (which is bullshit since Julius was already proven to be able to bypass the regeneration with sheer attacking speed)
its not a great feat tho Dracula in mainline is literally the satan from castlevania He is against god He has the power of chaos all the negativity from the World Plus dracula already killed satan because when dracula dies they say that the World needs a dark lord for the balance and satan's ring is founded on his castle in a few games
@@saidbrizzo2187 Dont forget, only the vampire killer can slay the lord if shadows Dracula, and hes demonstrated his power by wiping out armies, taking down titans, beating the lord if death, and tanking all the natural elements.
Honestly, it’s kind of crazy how well Castlevania 1 in general has aged. Other titles from 38 years ago look like relics in comparison to how ahead of the times they were LOL
And Dracula in mainline is basically way more stronger than satan And i believe that he killed him a long time ago since you can find his ring on Dracula's castle And the fact that the World needs a lord of darkness wich give us to understand that satan is no longer there
@Ieatpaste23 as i said is just a theory And basically dracula IS the satan of castlevania because he wants to oposite God original Dracula's Goal was oposite God when Lisa got killed his goals changed and first he will get rid all humanity Aswell in Dawn Of Sorrow the main theme is the lack of a dark lord of an evil force that keeps the balance of the World meaning that dracula was that evil force Doesn't that sounds familiar? Plus the satan's sword is traducted as "Demon's lord sword" in japanese so probably it was the sword of Walter or a previus dark lord
In canon I believe Julius would be the most powerful Belmont since literally killed Dracula once and for all and in his 50's he fought toe to toe with his reincarnation. In the whole franchise there's no discussion that Gabriel is the most powerful Belmont and characte, having the blessing of God, killing Satan as a human and then as Dracul he was unstoppable by anyone except his own Combat Cross/Vampire Killer. Basically being a Belmont with the powers of Dracula and blessing of God, that is just busted
I’m not sure. Julius does what no other Belmont did, but he also knew because of a prophecy that Dracula would resurrect in 1999 while the others were mostly taken by surprise by Dracula and his castle rolling into town with no time to prepare. And of course he would have had help from Alucard and the then head of the Belnades clan and any other allies that joined him for the final battle.
That’s right! Then again, I think if we’re talking about how much time each Belmont had to prepare I think Julius had the most yes. Especially because of how powerful Dracula would be in 1999. I went over it in my video on the subject too, but Julius did indeed have the most help out of all of them most likely.
Simon and Trevor had no magic in their blood or relied on it very little and they still got the job done, one single handed and the other can be implied to have done so single handed
Not to mention an entire army at his side for the Castle siege, Johnathan and Charlotte most likely, a Lecarde, a Morris, Grant and Syphas descendants, the time watchers…. I could probably keep going 🤣 But he is always credited as the one who defeated him, allowing the ritual to be preformed after so Dracula "stays dead"
Castlevania lore literally states that each successive Belmont is more powerful than the last. Regardless of that and how little vague info we have about the Julius' demon castle wars. We know it was basically Trevor's advenutre repeating itself. So he had a full party crew backing him up. The real ace up his sleeve was the Hakuba shinto shrine maiden. She's the real reason Dracula is "dead for reals" after 1999.
Mina’s Caretaker, who’s described as the Hakuba Clan Priest, is said to have played a big part having done the actual ritual that sealed Castlevania inside the eclipse. I have always wondered if he had help or not in that endeavor 🤔
If going by magical capabilities and items: Leon and Juste have so many spells and magic thanks to magical orbs and books. Juste being much more proficient with magic thanks to the blood of belnades and his myriad of items in his game If going by Experience: Christopher and Simon. Both were able to defeat dracula twice and Simon has shown incredible skill with the whip in Super Castlevania IV and Judgement (Simon's finisher move just says it all) If by physical strength and power: Richter and Julius. Richter's skilled with various martial arts and his item crashes. Julius, resisted Soma's Time stop, Killed a monster before it was able to reconstitute (Essentially regenerate via Magic Seals), broke a seal that not even Alucard could break and while holding back activating grand cross, he destroyed pillars far away during his boss fight For a more rounded belmont: Trevor. He's shown a few magical capabilities and even used elemental whips in Curse of Darkness, has experience and skills fighting Simon in Judgement and later on, as a piece of history from the grimoires brought to life, fought Alucard after the events of the Sorrow games in Grimoire of souls. As well as facing off Dracula at full power alongside others, while also fighting Isaac and Hector, characters who's power rivals that of Death itself.
It's Rochter or Julius for sure. I think Julius is the obvious pick. You can give come conversion because while Julius did fight the strongest version if drac, like truely price if darkness atin-christ levels of power, he had a lot if help. How much if that help was direct with the battle with Drac, I don't think we really know. It was called The car of 1999, so it wasn't just a 1 v1. Lighter was the last before the Belmonte clan vanished and was the strongest to date. So strong the family came to see themselves as a problem after the events of SotN.
I’m SO curious to see how a match between Lords of Shadow Gabriel/Dracula and someone like Julius Belmont in is prime might go. Real Castlevania power-scaling type stuff 🤣
Well, if you know the games, Gabriel can't die since he's immortal. The only weapon that could permanently kill him is his "own Combat Cross" which he destroyed in the chaos realm when he fought The Forgotten One which Zobek brought back. Although now Gabriel has it in his own possession. You must also understand that he was chosen by God and not even the Paladin with holy power could even scratch him, let alone kill him. Gabriel grabbed the cross while the Paladin was chanting and to the Paladin's surprise did not effect him and started to chant the incantation thus causing a massive explosion causing the Earth to shudder sooo.. @StockeTepes
@@StockeTepes It depends which version of Gabriel would be fighting Julius. In LOS 2 he spared the Toy Maker and Victor. I think he'd win but let him go.
The lore tells us that each Belmont gets stronger with each generation, but that’s not fun for debate lol. Trevor’s definitely an all-around powerhouse, especially in Curse of Darkness, but as you pointed out, he did require the help of Sypha, Grant, and Alucard on his adventure, so that does knock him down a bit. But he’s got bragging rights for being the first man to slay Dracula lol. I tend to say that Christopher is the strongest when it comes to pure brute strength because in the first game he managed to defeat Dracula using only the Vampire Killer and nothing else, and he had to fight Dracula again 15 years later, along with his possessed son. I would place Simon right next to him in that regard. Leon and Juste are pretty neck and neck when it comes to magical prowess, though I’m giving the point to Leon simply for how quick his weapon adaptability is (probably due to him being an experienced knight in The Crusades) and for the fact that he actually killed The Forgotten One lol Richter definitely has the edge when it comes to martial arts and item crashes like Hydro Storm. He’s also one of the few Belmonts that can actually sprint lol. Though I’m taking points away for the fact that he let himself be possessed by Shaft lol Now Julius is the weird case because despite the lore telling us that he’s the strongest Belmont who defeated Dracula for good, he still needed help from others similar to Trevor, and we don’t even get to see what he was like in his prime. He’s still badass as an old man, but his moveset is hardly different from Richter, if not worse since he doesn’t even have martial arts or item crashes (except Grand Cross). Bonus: Reinhardt is definitely one of the stronger Belmonts out there considering he’s killed far more vampires than anybody else. Usually Dracula is the only vampire a Belmont will ever kill, but C64 is filled with vampires as recurring enemies. Not only that, he had to kill two different Draculas back to back lol
Hell yeah. In grimoire of souls, Alucard says when he fought side by side with Trevor him & his allies felt more powerful. I took this as Trevor having an aptitude for boosting his allies, something along those lines, but I had to cut SO MUCH of what I wrote just to fit this into a minute video 🤣 But I love how unique each Belmonts attributes are. Even if Julius in his prime might hypothetically be more powerful than all of them, I feel like there are still many scenarios where the others win plenty. Especially against older Julius hahaha
@@darian6423 agreed. I put Simon a bit higher than Chris simply because he fought a fully powered Dracula after his natural 100 year resurrection. Leon is great because he actually did what the other Belmonts did verbatim while he was new to the job. Juste is the most magically of all the Belmonts no one can come close besides Richter. He also fought Dracula too because if doesn’t count then Simon’s second time doesn’t count either because they basically did the same thing damn near verbatim. Now on to Richter, for all his accomplishments and abilities he is the failure of the Belmonts being controlled by Shaft. Which cause the Vampire Killer to be out the main family for over 300 years. So it had to be sent to the branch family because the work still needed to be done nevertheless others helped hold the line so it could get the Morris family. That cause the death of John Morris and the depowering of the Vampire Killer. Good thing Johnathan fixed Richter’s colossal fuck up. To be fair it would have been Soleil fault but he didn’t receive the whip before he was captured and controlled by Dracula. I agree with Julius but we got him as you said making his strength more or less hearsay because we didn’t get to use him properly. All of what he did was story. Then it was more than the help Trevor got. He had Alucard, the Belnades clan, along with the Hakuba clan and the entire Military to do that job. So he lost a shit ton of points for that. Now he probably did fight Dracula properly alone but all his other ancestors walk to the front door, took a deep breath and ran through the castle setting things on fire and tearing shit up as they go.
Reindhardt is really OP Dude literally beated a fully revived dracula with a boost from the ritual to change his body and the boosts that cornell power gave him
Jonathan, for sure, but is there a Belmont that i would choose would be Juste because he was the only belmont that was able to have better magic control. He combined his raw power with his inherited magic powers from the Belnaldes clan. Also, he was the originator of the special ability called "Grand Cross," which he passed down to Richter Belmont during their training. Even if he didn't fough Dracula, if he were to, he would have succeeded.
I mean it is simple. Lore wise it's Julius, Belmonts get a generational zenkai boost. Gameplay wise, I would say Juste, guy is broken, BROKEN. Now I could be semantics and what not, but the point is that this question has a blunt answer. Case and point, Julius went all dbz at age 55, and was still holding back.
Julius didn't just seal Dracula. He freaking killed him permanently and sealed the castle away in an eclipse but in doing so sealed the vampire killer in the same eclipse and lost his memories while Dracula/Mathias's soul was able to reincarnate into Soma Cruz
It's absolutely Richter. One of the things that gets forgotten about when it comes to the sealing of Dracula in the vampire wars of 1999 is that Julius had help from the Hakuba Clan.
Julius had the most help out of any of them, but he’s always the sole credit for defeating Dracula to allow for the Hakuba Shrine Priest (Minas Caretaker) to perform the ritual. If I had to guess his allies helped him with the castle siege and to get to the throne room. Not that having help makes their feats any less impressive, but it should be noted in a comparison like this 🤔
@StockeTepes I get that but in that case he did the same thing as Richter. Julius defeated Dracula like any Belmont, but to say he sealed him is disingenuous.
Julius is by far the strongest he even killed dracula. Sadly, konami was not happy about that, so we may never get another castlevania because of him ☠️ But fr richter is strong and hot but was easily corrupted by shaft, so he has exploitable weaknessesm i might even give simon a peg up over richter because he probably has mascot bias powers.
While I love Richter, gotta say Julius takes it, tough they both are at it neck to neck Also, small correction, Julius did recive help just as Trevor did, as in Alucard, Beldandes and others from the church, but only in sealing the castle, he still fought Dracula 1v1 and won, but most Belmont do
Oh I’m well aware ☺️ You can watch my full video on the Demon Castle War of 1999 if you’re interested in learning everything about the subject. I didn’t mean to imply having help was a negative aspect, since in the context of Castlevania narrative and gameplay that help makes the story SO much more interesting and engaging. But in a power scaling debate that should be kept in mind as a factor. I agree too! Julius is said to have defeated Dracula on his own against a Dracula that is more powerful than we have ever seen, allowing for the Hakuba Clan Priest to preform the sealing ritual. I hope we can see it one day…
All the comments here discussing it would lead to the contrary 😂 But yes! Because the soul memory of each VK user stays with the whip as mentioned in the video, the wilder gains their strength to call upon as well as the growing Belnades/Belmont blood naturally.
Juste and Simon both thought Dracula's wraith juste in harmony of dissonance and then in Castlevania 2 Simon fights Dracula's wrath as well. Also Julius didn't seal him away for an eternity as he does destroy Dracula but Soma who has the soul of Dracula can become Dracula at any time.
*lol* Julius is strong, but had a lot of help!!! Christopher Belmont, he defeated Dracula twice at full power on his own. Simon's Quest was just Dracula's Shade and it was indeed elder abuse. :)
I’m happy to see a lot of people make the case for Christopher too, he’s the most underrated "mainline" Belmont we play as but his accomplishments are undeniable. Even in the lore people like Simon look up to Christopher as he had become more renowned than even Trevor during his lifetime.
I didn’t have enough time to go over it in this short, but yeah there’s DEFINITELY a case for Simon and Christopher. Having two Dracula kills on your record is so impressive especially in Simon’s case doing it while the curse was afflicting him. Juste and Richter really bring their Belnades blood to the forefront too more than any of the others.
Fun fact, the reason the Belmonts get stronger each generation is because in the lore the Vampire Killer has the "memories" of each users soul, inheriting their strength and prowess from generation to generation slowly increasing until 1999. I made sure to mention that in the video, but the other Belmonts feats and strength are still so impressive even without them
Julius and Richter are usually on top. But Julius had help, potentially an army's worth. Then again, he's also potentially one of the oldest members to still be in action as of Aria & Dawn. He also says in Dawn that he just beats demons so hard they can't regenerate while Soma has to use complex scrolls to accomplish the same thing... as a reincarnation of Dracula. Richter only fought with the help of a girl and her animal companions... but also marked the end of the Belmonts until the prophecy of 1999. So like, does that mean it took it out of him that badly? Idk. I go with Julius every time.
Well said, completely agree. Although I’m happy to see others make the argument for other Belmonts, since at the end of the day we still haven’t seen Julius and his ability’s during his prime 😔
Sudden Stocke upload. I hope this means you'll be back to making content. Been missing those juicy Castlevania videos. As for the strongest Belmont, I've always viewed Richter as the one. Julius was said to be the best of the best but never really convinced me, especially after his loss in DoS to Dario of all people. We have, however, seen the amazing feats Richter is capable of from brute strength to magic, and his influence persists for the whole rest of the series after he's gone.
Thank you so much! That’s the plan! I’ve been working on a big video for a while so I hope to show everyone soon 😁 And yeah, not being able to see Julius in his prime is the BIGGEST strike against him for me. Especially because old man Julius has some embarrassing loses like you said with Dario LOL. Richters power is incredible in every game he’s in. I really think it would be between the two as far as the canon Belmonts go.
It’s a shame we never get to see Richter and Julius meet each other. I wonder if the conversation of the "strongest Belmont" would spark between them lol.
Depending on what the player does I think so too 🤔 During the beginning of Symphony of the Night, Maria helps Richter if he takes too much damage by calling the 4 Celestial Beats to make him invincible so it might vary lol
Yeah No, It's Julius because he willingly walked up to The Reincarnation of Dracula who was holding a Glock and told him in no uncertain terms "I dragged your ass into the Castlevania parking lot and beat the breaks off of you like the streetfighter toyota, You get one chance." And that takes balls.
I use the method of first figuring out where was Dracula at his strongest to find the strongest Belmont and I consider Castlevania 3 to have the strongest Dracula because the dark lord himself has 3 forms for Trevor to defeat unlike in other Castlevania games where he has just 1 or 2 forms and after Mathias became the king of vampires in 1090's his power only grew without stopping until in 1470's he was defeated by Trevor Belmont . Now how is Trevor the strongest if he had help , well the thing is you can beat CV3 without recruiting allies which is why I consider that Trevor would've cleared the adventure and defeat Dracula at his strongest in the series .
Julius had the help the of some japanese monks to actually separate Dracula's soul and essentially a big army on order to back him up on his way to Dracula. Don't know you but i think if Richter had all the help Julius had, he probably would have defeated Dracula even faster than Julius did.
1792 Dracula is very weak compared to 1999 Dracula. And Richter 2v1'd Dracula with Maria while Julius fought him alone, the Hakuba priestess did her thing after Julius had clapped Drac.
@@somersaultinggiraffe1901 As far as I remember, Yoko was there helping him and as I said, he also had a whole army to ease the way to Dracula plus the Japanese monks that actually separated his soul from the castle, not Julius raw power. Richter had to solo most of the castle wich already takes a massive effort on it's own and to say Dracula was "very weak" is straight up a lie.. to all that, Maria did helped him but let's not forget she literally just learned she now got powers that she can't control at the fullest and had next to no combat skills.. oh and let's not forget she's still just a child so to say she was a big help is just not true.
Just wanted to add this julius did not beat a full powered dracula on his own. He had help from both the military and church for one final battle against the count. It is implied that julius provoled dracula to chase him outside his throne room since the sealing ritual needs dracula out of his castle. And inside a purification seal while julius goes back to the castle to plant the whip.
That’s right! During the final battle with Dracula however, Julius is always cited as the one who solely defeated him allowing for the Hakuba Clan priest to preform the sealing ritual. From everything we know he had plenty of help getting to the throne room, especially with so much evidence in Aria of Sorrow of a Castle siege
@@StockeTepes imagine julius pissed dracula off, so much that he went out of his way to actually get out of his throne room just to get rid of him. julius probably said something and struck a nerve when he confronted dracula.
Richter is the STRONGEST in raw power and strength. First to develop item crashes, holy magic is unparalleled. Julius if we're talking about strategy, martial arts, and magics. Though we never see it in action. Shame Konami never let us see the light of day. And Iga is off world.
For me it will always be Julius - I'll get to the reasons why I think he's the strongest later, but there's a strong case for any of them: Leon: Literally every other Belmont had his help in defeating Dracula because he passed down his strength and learnings. He's the Oppenheimer of Dracula killing: Might not have made the biggest kaboom, but he made the first and everyone else took from him. He's a monster. Trevor: The people of his land were literally crying at his powers according to Castlevania 3. Like, I don't think any other Belmont has gotten that treatment. Julius, Richter, Juste, Simon, and possibly others (IDK about Christopher and Leon) had people on their side (be it the army in '99, Maria, Maxim, or all of the townspeople in Simon's quest), but society took one look at Trevor and said "nah, I'll take Dracula instead." What a monster. Christopher: He was in the worst Castlevania game and is still remembered fondly. Also he has enough control over himself to beat Solei without killing him, which shows his control over his power. Let's not forget that he's also only one of 2 to beat Dracula unassisted. What a monster. Simon: Google "Flesh eating bacteria" (actually don't it's horrifying). Now try traveling across a country and killing Dracula with that. Dude's a monster. Juste: Characters who use magic are arguably the strongest mechanically, with dudes like SoTN Alucard, Sypha in CV3 (Fire literally does 4x Simon's fully powered whip iirc), Maria, and Soma being some of the mechanically strongest characters in the series, with their alternative characters needing INSANE stat advantages to even stand a chance against them. Juste is arguably the strongest of them all, and the fact his game is the easiest corroborates this. Combine all of THAT with the strength of the Belmont... And you've got a monster. Richter: If you put him in literally any other Classicvania, he'd probably clean house. Item crashes can be ridiculously broken (ESPECIALLY in SoTN), and he _invented them._ If you also count Maria as not taking place in the final battle between him and Drac, he had the best showing of any _confirmed_ unhelped Belmont. On top of all of that, he's also the fastest Belmont and as mentioned, one of 2 that have been called the strongest, *by the games*. He's absolutely a monster. Julius: We have no idea what his 1999 battle looked like. People always say he had help at the scene of the war, which automatically equates to having help in the final battle, but other protags "have help" that don't actually take place in the final battle (Soma had Hammer, Arikado, and Yoko yet they never fought Graham, Alucard had Maria but she didn't help against Shaftula in SoTN, Juste had Maxim, Johnathan and Charlotte and Stella and Loretta, but none of those side characters ever fought in their respective game's final battles despite all of them being capable). He could've had help, he could've not. What he _do_ know is that he fought and defeated Dracula without the Vampire Killer since it was sealed away in the castle... That he navigates and fights through _again_ without the whip or any memories, then takes place in a boss fight that is arguably harder than Chaos *despite the fact he's holding back.* A boss fight where he also gets the golden title of "strongest" that's shared only by Richter. He's also the only other Belmont besides Simon and Richter who has to be nerfed for story reasons (Simon had Dracula's curse, Richter had mind control, and Julius had old age and a nerfed Vampire Killer)... And he's STILL SOMEHOW arguably the strongest character in Dawn of Sorrow. He's literally the *only* character who could break the barrier at the end of the game and he's the *only* character that could kill "sealed" enemies without needing seals. Julius. Is. A. Monster. Every Belmont is a monster, and the strongest literally can just come down to "who's your favorite." Unlike Dracula though, these monsters belong in this world!
Fantastic read! I pretty much agree with everything, there’s a case for every single Belmont even ones outside of the canon continuity. But like you said with Simon, some clearly went through MUCH WORSE than others and still managed to prevail. Leon being the "Oppenheimer" of Castlevania is a great way to put it too LMAOOOO When I made my 1999 video I was perplexed in what order of events the final battle between Julius and Dracula could’ve taken place. Seeing as his whip was "sealed away" to weaken him, yet he still needed to defeat Dracula to allow the Hakuba Clans ritual to be successful. I personally don’t think he fought him without the Vampire Killer, so maybe he sealed it away after, then the ritual took place? Like you said it’s hard to say since we can’t know LOL but it’s so fun to speculate 🤣 Recently Dead by Daylight added some context about Dracula in 1999 since the version of him in that game APPARENTLY comes from that time period, which is absolutely crazy. It’s probably not canon ofc and is mostly for fun but there’s a whole passage about Draculas final defeat against Julius and the Vampires Killer "ripping into his flesh". But then the ending described how he gets teleported to the Dead by Daylight world after so it’s a bit ridiculous but interesting fanservice nonetheless. I’ll have to mention it in a future video project 🤣
@@StockeTepes You make a great point. I just assumed he was defeated without it because I'm pretty sure Dracula was killed outside the Castle (since besides Simon's Quest he doesn't ever leave a body, they couldn't drag him out after defeating him) so they could cut him off from his power source, but for some reason I didn't think they could seal it in the Castle afterwards (although with them trying to defeat Dracula, they could've possibly sealed away the Castle and the Vampire Killer the moment Dracula stepped foot outside to make absolutely sure he didn't get back in). That does bring me to a funny thought and that's if there happened to be an eclipse during Simon's Quest that Alucard was awake for (and had someone present to seal the castle inside), theoretically Dracula could've ended right there. Seal the Castle while his remains are scattered by Simon, destroy the remains (or revive and kill him one more time, if necessary), and BOOM. 90% of the Castlevania series doesn't happen.
In the bad ending of the Sorrow games? Yes, although we never see who the victor is in Aria of Sorrow 👀 I wonder if Julius kept his promise there specifically.
@@StockeTepes No, I mean in the best ending XD I lost to him 4 times, because previous bosses were a pushover, even Chaos was, yet, Julius took me 4 tries.
Trevor actually didn’t need any help. He picked Sypha, Grant and Alucard up along the way. In Sypha’s case Trevor was asked by the Eastern Orthodox Church to see if he could help find her since they lost contact with her and her group of monster hunters. We know that Trevor just by himself was strong enough that Dracula felt his presence even when he wasn’t in Wallachia. Trevor was so powerful that Dracula sent his strongest Devil Forgemaster, Hector, out to assassinate him. And we know that Devil Forgemasters rival the God of Death himself in terms of sheer power, even then Dracula still didn’t feel like Hector was enough to take on Trevor by himself and so he sent an entire legion of monsters along with him, just for one man.
Yup. In canon, all four members from Draculas Curse can be seen looking at Castlevania in the Japanese Curse of Darkness manga after the day is saved. Trevor’s eye is also covered because of the scares Dracula gave him which later can be seen prominently in Curse of Darkness. Trevor elaborates a little in Judgment too, but he did indeed fight Dracula with the three others together. This is why I want a Draculas Curse remake more than any of the others so we can see them all battle Dracula together. Even maybe elaborating on the power of the "Dark God" Dracula used 😔
@@StockeTepes I’m also biased to Trevor just because the manga gave him one of my favorite titles ever, the Demon Chaser. I know there’s a group of people who are out making remakes of the OG games. I know they did one for Simon’s Quest. I believe the one they’re currently working on is for Dracula’s Curse. It’s supposed to have actual voiced dialogue for the characters and everything. I believe it’s called ‘Castlevania Chronicles 3: Dracula’s Curse’, so maybe we’ll see more in there.
@@StockeTepes It was after Dracula’s death, it happened in the final volume with Rosaly/Rosalee telling Hector “The Devil and his Demons, they’re all gone. The Demon Chaser Belmont saved us.”

I was speaking about it a bit in another comment but I would love to see Gabriel face off against the classic characters somehow, seeing how different they are it would certainly make for an entertaining matchup! But his feats are some of the most impressive yes. The Lords of Shadow trilogy in general had a much bigger "scale" than most traditional Castlevanias, I think. And thank you!
A monster.
Soma: How did you defeat them without using a Seal Julius??
Julius: Lock in 🗣️💯🔥
Did you really say hecking
@@IzraelGraves i am afraid of big daddy RUclips deciding to hide the comment because no-no words, sorry :C
@@bartoszkrawczyk5921 What, fucking?
He ain’t the strongest (maybe physically) but Simon is an impressive case. Dude not only beat Drac the first time but was cursed afterwards and managed to trek the whole country multiple times while fighting monsters EVERY DAY until he finally resurrected Dracula and kicked his ass AGAIN.
You're right, basically, he survived Castlevania 2, that's gotta count for something😅
They need to make a game of the final battle with Dracula, the event of 1999
That is my most anticipated game of all time, if it wasn’t obvious by my channel lol. I wonder if they’ll ever do it…
They were going to do it but since igarashi and his team left the game was cancelled

But other timelines?
Gabriel for sure. He's a Belmont AND Dracula. And has arguably one of the best storylines in the overall lore
Nice one.
His mental fortitude was arguably the worst of all of his past and future family members!”
Yes, but I think it’s important to note that Richter was the Youngest Belmont to fight Dracula at the age of 19.
Agreed! To be honest that’s what makes richters character so compelling, even if it makes him look "weak" in a power comparison with his family 🤣

Strongest is easily gabriel himself as he became Dracula and defeated Satan twice
*inserts Jonathan Joestar*

Julius...
It's Julius without a doubt. He permakilled Dracula. And he can do it twice in the bad ending of AoS and DoS
Julius, he can canonically kill your player character.
Jonathan Joestar for sure.
Plot twist. We are all the greatest Belmont.
This is the correct answer!
Simon and Trevor had no magic in their blood or relied on it very little and they still got the job done, one single handed and the other can be implied to have done so single handed
Julius didnt win alone either, the priest of the hakuba temple sealed off dracula while yoko and alucard helped julius in battle
Nah, Julius did it alone. The light novel Remembrance of the Divine Abyss confirms it.
Juste being much more proficient with magic thanks to the blood of belnades and his myriad of items in his game
If going by Experience: Christopher and Simon. Both were able to defeat dracula twice and Simon has shown incredible skill with the whip in Super Castlevania IV and Judgement (Simon's finisher move just says it all)
If by physical strength and power: Richter and Julius. Richter's skilled with various martial arts and his item crashes. Julius, resisted Soma's Time stop, Killed a monster before it was able to reconstitute (Essentially regenerate via Magic Seals), broke a seal that not even Alucard could break and while holding back activating grand cross, he destroyed pillars far away during his boss fight
For a more rounded belmont: Trevor.
I still want a Julius Belmont game set in 1999
We all do 😭
There is a fan game in the works apparently, called Castlevania: Seal of the Eclipse
@@WaterDog1502 konami has abandoned us
Alt timeline or no, Gabriel is the objective answer considering that he is literally Dracula.
Fan fav is Johnathan. On record, it's Richter, and only one to truly kill dracula is Julius.
It’s gotta go to Julius every time
Out of canon gabriel slaps all of them ngl. I get how disconnected it is but damn it's a cool depiction
@@bahhgrbavac9539being inmortal doesn't means that you are unbeatable
@saidbrizzo2187 The Only weapon that can physically kill him is his own "Combat Cross." I never said immortality means you can never be defeated.
Leon and Juste are pretty neck and neck when it comes to magical prowess, though I’m giving the point to Leon simply for how quick his weapon adaptability is (probably due to him being an experienced knight in The Crusades) and for the fact that he actually killed The Forgotten One lol
Richter definitely has the edge when it comes to martial arts and item crashes like Hydro Storm. He’s also one of the few Belmonts that can actually sprint lol. Though I’m taking points away for the fact that he let himself be possessed by Shaft lol
Now Julius is the weird case because despite the lore telling us that he’s the strongest Belmont who defeated Dracula for good, he still needed help from others similar to Trevor, and we don’t even get to see what he was like in his prime.
I took this as Trevor having an aptitude for boosting his allies, something along those lines, but I had to cut SO MUCH of what I wrote just to fit this into a minute video 🤣
But I love how unique each Belmonts attributes are.
Reindhardt is really OP
Dude literally beated a fully revived dracula with a boost from the ritual to change his body and the boosts that cornell power gave him
Jonathan, for sure, but is there a Belmont that i would choose would be Juste because he was the only belmont that was able to have better magic control.
I could definitely see the debate changing from a gameplay perspective 🤣 Juste like you said, maybe Symphony of the Night Richter too? 😱
It's Julius next question
The boy is back! What up, dude.
Good to see you AntiChris!! Happy to be back after so long. Don’t tell anyone, but this is just a taste for what’s coming 🤐
Sadly, konami was not happy about that, so we may never get another castlevania because of him ☠️
But fr richter is strong and hot but was easily corrupted by shaft, so he has exploitable weaknessesm i might even give simon a peg up over richter because he probably has mascot bias powers.
Jonathon Belmont🗿😂
The best Belmont 😆
While I love Richter, gotta say Julius takes it, tough they both are at it neck to neck
Also, small correction, Julius did recive help just as Trevor did, as in Alucard, Beldandes and others from the church, but only in sealing the castle, he still fought Dracula 1v1 and won, but most Belmont do
Oh I’m well aware ☺️ You can watch my full video on the Demon Castle War of 1999 if you’re interested in learning everything about the subject.
I hope we can see it one day…
No, it's not a question anyone asks because the game explictly state that the further down in the Belmont bloodline we are, the stronger they get
All the comments here discussing it would lead to the contrary 😂 But yes!
Julius destroyed Dracula by sealing the castle away and cutting him from its power..
Julius wins hands down he's not talked about enough.
JULIUS BELMONT LET'S GOOOO!
Nobody can do it like he did it 😮💨
for me,Juste is the strongest Belmont in terms of magic, but in terms of strength i think is Simon or Christopher
I didn’t have enough time to go over it in this short, but yeah there’s DEFINITELY a case for Simon and Christopher. Having two Dracula kills on your record is so impressive especially in Simon’s case doing it while the curse was afflicting him. Juste and Richter really bring their Belnades blood to the forefront too more than any of the others.
yeah, you're absolutely right, clearly noticed this👍🏼
Julius. They get stronger with each generation. And he is the one who killed Drac for good.
Let’s keep in mind that Lords of Shadow is not canon, therefore, Gabriel Belmont is not part of the Belmont clan.
That’s right! Going through the comments since this short released a bit ago, I’m shocked people don’t know 🫢 I blame Konami more than anything LOL
I’ve been working on a big video for a while so I hope to show everyone soon 😁
And yeah, not being able to see Julius in his prime is the BIGGEST strike against him for me. Especially because old man Julius has some embarrassing loses like you said with Dario LOL. Richters power is incredible in every game he’s in. I really think it would be between the two as far as the canon Belmonts go.
@@StockeTepes Bottom line is... give us a 1999 game, Konami.
According to Lore it's Richter(Magic and Martial Arts) with Julius being the "Best" answer for sealing castlevania
It’s a shame we never get to see Richter and Julius meet each other. I wonder if the conversation of the "strongest Belmont" would spark between them lol.
@@StockeTepes I can see it, with Soma being dragged in by everyone cuz he is technically Dracula and was the best choice to solve the problem
Aria of Sorrow and Ricordanza of the God's Abyss confirm that Julius is the strongest vampire hunter to ever exist.
Julius is the strongest, simply because canonically, each generation of Belmont is stronger from the last.
Probably Richter. My man soloed ol' Dracman.
Depending on what the player does I think so too 🤔 During the beginning of Symphony of the Night, Maria helps Richter if he takes too much damage by calling the 4 Celestial Beats to make him invincible so it might vary lol
richter got possessed and lost his mind, julius ended dracula, no contest
Im not well versed in castlevania lore . But i did watch the anime and richter after he grows up a bit looking unstoppable
The anime shat all over castlevania
Trevor was always my personal favorite. Glad they chose him for the show.
@@somersaultinggiraffe1901
As far as I remember, Yoko was there helping him and as I said, he also had a whole army to ease the way to Dracula plus the Japanese monks that actually separated his soul from the castle, not Julius raw power.
Richter Belmont is the best
Simon is the strongest. He could bench Dracula's coffin with one hand.
The recent ones are the most powerful, obviously. The weaker the players, the stronger the characters.
Don't think I didn't see Jonathan Joestar there.
👀👀
And we still don't have a Julius game! Its a damned crime.
Go home Jonathan Joestar, you're drunk.
For me it will always be Julius - I'll get to the reasons why I think he's the strongest later, but there's a strong case for any of them:
Leon: Literally every other Belmont had his help in defeating Dracula because he passed down his strength and learnings.
Julius. Is. A. Monster.
Every Belmont is a monster, and the strongest literally can just come down to "who's your favorite."
Unlike Dracula though, these monsters belong in this world!
Fantastic read! I pretty much agree with everything, there’s a case for every single Belmont even ones outside of the canon continuity. But like you said with Simon, some clearly went through MUCH WORSE than others and still managed to prevail. Leon being the "Oppenheimer" of Castlevania is a great way to put it too LMAOOOO
When I made my 1999 video I was perplexed in what order of events the final battle between Julius and Dracula could’ve taken place. Seeing as his whip was "sealed away" to weaken him, yet he still needed to defeat Dracula to allow the Hakuba Clans ritual to be successful. I personally don’t think he fought him without the Vampire Killer, so maybe he sealed it away after, then the ritual took place? Like you said it’s hard to say since we can’t know LOL but it’s so fun to speculate 🤣
Recently Dead by Daylight added some context about Dracula in 1999 since the version of him in that game APPARENTLY comes from that time period, which is absolutely crazy.
Give me the 1999 final battle game and I’ll be very happy
KONAMI! GIVE US THE DEMON CASTLE WAR GAME AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!
Julius followed by Christopher and Simon tbh
Julius did kill Soma for me tike 4 times, and I had the best equipment so it goes to him :D
In the bad ending of the Sorrow games? Yes, although we never see who the victor is in Aria of Sorrow 👀 I wonder if Julius kept his promise there specifically.
@@StockeTepes No, I mean in the best ending XD
I lost to him 4 times, because previous bosses were a pushover, even Chaos was, yet, Julius took me 4 tries.
@@DANTVSVERGIL "Demon Chaser" for Trevor is absolutely BADASS damn, I don’t remember that one 😱😱
@@StockeTepes It was after Dracula’s death, it happened in the final volume with Rosaly/Rosalee telling Hector “The Devil and his Demons, they’re all gone. The Demon Chaser Belmont saved us.”

most likely the toughest of them all beating Satan Twice. And yes, technically Lords of Shadow is another timeline!

Happy to be back 😊 Working on several projects
