Thanks for watching! Hope you learned something new from this video or just enjoyed it ☺️ To watch me harvest these squash from the garden you can watch this video ruclips.net/video/FdvYDuTlNOQ/видео.html 👩🏼🌾
Thank you for going through the process! Its such a vital process to keep food fresh and to be able to keep it for a long time, but can be a hard process to get down right!
We have not had any issues with freezer burn using this method. Just be sure to get out as much air as possible when sealing the bag. And yes you can absolutely do zucchini this way! That’s what we did with a lot of our zucchini harvest this year.
Thank you. Yeah I use a straw and put it inside the baggie as I'm sealing it, seal it as tight as I can around the straw and then I suck as much air out as I can and then close it it's almost almost is good as vacuum sealing it. LoL
Sorry but you don't want to freeze like that, cause they will come out in a ball after being frozen. Put them on a cookie sheet lay them one layer and then put into bags. I just cut up 6 squash, blanched 4 mins, ice water, drain, egg wash, jiffy corn bread, then lay flat on parchment paper on cookie sheet, freeze. Then you can fry them!!! Thanks for sharing
Freezing them this way works perfectly fine for what I preserve my squash for. Hopefully some of the viewers looking to fry their squash after freezing will have luck following your suggestion! Thanks!
Hi Jane! Technically you could fry the squash after blanching and freezing, but it will have a different texture due to it being higher in water content. I’m just not a fan personally of frying squash after it’s been frozen! If you try it, let us know how it goes!

I put a strainer in my bowl of ice water so I dont get ice in my bags. Great video!
Thanks! That’s a great way to avoid those pesky cubes 🧊

How. Long will it be good in the freezer this way?
We have used squash from the freezer up to 12 months old and it still tastes great!
Why can’t u fry it after blanching

Why discard the ends??
Our chickens love them as treats and they are kind enough to turn those squash into yummy eggs!
Do you have to add salt
Personal preference!
Why doesn’t she skin the Squash?
Never heard of skinning squash…is that a thing?!
Neither have I. @@TheGallowayFarm
You're wasting a lot if squash when you cut the neck of it off.😢
Nothing goes to waste around here! If we don’t consume it, our animals will and turn it back into milk or eggs ☺️
Is 2 minutes a joke?
It’s a 2 minute long how-to - not to be confused with a 2 minute cooking time.
