Slipknot helped me get through a lot of trauma as a kid. They helped me release my anger in a healthy way. If I hadn't discovered them, i don't even want to think what would have happened.
For me it was the moment in her shitty rant where she called people "dumb" or "less smart" for liking this kind of music. In her own words, this whole video just shows her "mental poorliness".
Two of my uni professors were metalheads in their 50's. Based upon appearance one would never know; much like myself and a few other class mates. It is always a good day to meet another metalhead in the wild.
@@TheLargino we had religion in school in the early 2000s. one day i borrowed my religion teacher a cd from e nomine and slipknot. he immidietaly went to the local cd shop and bought those 2 cds for himself lol i was surprised, that a deep religious man was so in awe with these two bands haha
My son has been a fan of slipknot since he was around 5 yrs old. He’s now 24. It’s had zero effect over his mental state. Never hurt people, no criminal record, never hurt himself. Metal is cathartic. The anger is in the music, listening to it releases it from us who actually appreciate it
I went to a Slipknot concert when I was a 115lb 16yo girl, on the floor. I never felt unsafe. There was violence, sure, but it was organized violence (mosh pits). I did see one guy get punched for harassing a girl; a brawl broke out between a couple “Maggots” (name for Slipknot fans) and Nazis. The band stopped the whole concert because they noticed people being grabby with girls bodysurfing and yelled at the people, telling them they’ll stop the whole concert if they see it again. I accidentally got punched in the throat when I got caught at the edge of a mosh pit; the guy left the pit, searched for me, came running, apologizing profusely and made sure I was ok. I slid through a bunch of big sweaty bodies to get to the front (ick, i know lol, but I wanted to get close!) A new song started and the crowd surged forward, crushing me into the barrier. All of a sudden, I felt space behind me & a woman appeared right next to me and smiled. I looked behind us and her massive boyfriend was standing right behind us, protecting us. I felt watched out for the whole time, all by boys and men, many of whom would be judged as dangerous or mean based on their looks. That entire experience is in my top five favorite memories (unrelated to my kids.) Slipknot often ends their concerts with something along the lines of “YOU’RE ALL F-ING AMAZING! LOVE YOURSELF AND F-ING TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER!!!” The most aggressive kindness possible lol. Slipknot’s discography is varied; they are very talented and run the gambit of emotions. They provided a healthy outlet for my anger when I was a teen. I STILL listen to them at 36! They STILL motivate me, allow me to fully feel sad/angry/happy and express myself. I’ll never get mad if someone isn’t a fan of their music. Some people just don’t enjoy metal, and that’s completely fine. However, saying they aren’t talented?! That they negatively influence people or cause violence?! Heck no. Objectively false on both accounts.
@ couldn’t agree with you more doll. I’ve been to countless metal gigs and festivals, and not once have I seen any trouble. I remember speaking to a couple of cops one year at a festival, and they said when it comes to festival season, they all try so hard to work the metal festivals cos it’s such an easy job. They basically battle with each other to see if they can work those festivals. They said that when it comes to the more “pop/dance/mainstream” festivals, that’s where the trouble is, and they’d much rather not work them at all. Us metal heads are a family. We get looked at cos of how we dress, how “violent” the music sounds etc.. but we just love the people and the bands/music. It’s a huge release for me personally too. I suffer with panic attacks, so I made an “anxiety” playlist. It helps me to focus on the rhythm which in turn gets my breathing back to normal. I often wonder what it is that those outside of the metal community actually hear when it comes to this type of music. Cos to say “talentless” is ridiculous. The amount of work it takes just to be able to growl, and how many years it takes just to be able to do it without hurting your throat, is tough in itself. Let alone actually playing instruments, instead of using autotune and pressing buttons on a computer. And on top of that… the live shows!!! I mean… Rammstein for example. Their shows are absolutely incredible. I dunno… some people are just extremely closed minded
She couldn’t view it impartially and never gave it a chance. So since she didn’t pay any attention, she didn’t hear the lyrics, obviously didn’t understand the metaphors. 435million people should show her that she doesn’t know a thing about music. Love how she called fans “those type of people”…classy
Maybe metal isn’t just for everyone. Who cares? We have the same views about other things. I couldn’t live without metal but can surely live with people not loving it.
Your mother is extremely judgemental towards fans, and clearly has no expertise in music. Saying that there is 0 talent in a band when the lead singer is one of the most versatile, talented singers in the world. The rest of the band are very talented too. Her reaction angered me more than entertained me.
Kom ihåg dessa är troligen från Storbritannien de anser sig ofta som lite eller mycket bättre än de flesta andra på planeten jorden!?. Så igentligen inte alls speciellt förvånande att vi får denna reaktion.
11:29 actually. many studies have shown that those who listen to metal music are more emotionally stable, mentally mature and higher IQ than those who don't 🤷
Slipknot has actually done a great deal of good in terms of mental health. Their music is extremely aggressive and full of hate, but not really hateful towards others. When you are in a dark place, it can be very important to know that you are not alone with those dark thoughts. We as human species are inherently afraid of being left alone. When you are neck deep in shit and feel like "this is the end", it is very comforting to know that someone else has also been down there. I have personally listened to Slipknot and other metal bands when I was in a dark place, and it really helped me not to let the "dark side" of me to gain control. If you feel like hurting yourself or someone else, listening to music like this can actually calm you down, since it gives you a safe way of releasing that pressure, instead of bottling it up and eventually exploding. This is one of the reasons why studies have shown that metal music can have a significantly positive impact on your mental health, especially if you are dealing with serious problems. Extreme metal is not about trying to inflict your pain on others, it's a way of managing that pain inside you.
Metalheads are some of the sweetest caring people around. I would spend my days hanging out with metalheads, full of tattoos and piercings, Slipknot masks, bikers, etc and be perfectly happy. I regularly encourage my children to listen to this type of music, to read the lyrics and understand the meanings. This type of music has saved countless lives by giving people a safe outlet for their pain and sometimes anger. Sometimes harsh songs can let people know they aren't alone in their suffering, and help them through strong emotions. Korn's song Daddy got me through extreme childhood trauma in a way nobody else was able to help. Your mother sounds like the type of person who swears they are a good Christian woman, but is so full of hatred. Pot calling the kettle black much? Acting like the people who make or like this music are evil, but listen to all the hatred she spews. It's a very sad thing that she is so closed-minded.
At first I thought she was joking but she has no ear for melody or musicianship. I don’t think she will ever understand anything heavier than the Beatles. But, maybe try a female fronted metal band. Circle with me-spirit box, jinjer-Pisces, you could also try bands like pierce the veil or bullet for my valentine.
Don’t want to be mean but that is the most judgmental and disrespectful comments I’ve heard in a long time. Talking about kids shouldn’t listen to this. Well it’s better for them to listen to this then current rap music that promotes drug use, gun violence and treating women like pleasure objects. I hope she can listen to more and be more open minded cause metal music takes talent and has actually saved many many lives
Thats a broad stroke.. Not all Hip Hop is about Thugs and Drugs... Rock life has been depicted as Sex Drugs & Rock and Roll...Thats a High Horse that you're sitting on.
@@Lee4364 the old stuff was good but I said modern rap music. Modern rap is so negative, why do you think so many rappers die young from drugs or being shot, half if not all these young rappers glorify that type of life while never actually living it. Why do you see more beefs with rappers than any other music genre, and why are kids dancing to a song called WAP. It’s not a high horse it’s reality and that’s coming from someone that actually likes rap as well. I also think the old classic rock songs about doing drugs are messed up as well but at the same time rock and metal also talks about addiction and all these negative things but beating these things. Rock and metal bands try to help the listener and let them know they aren’t alone while modern rap doesn’t
Ah come on now, that argument has been used about rap since the late 80s. Pitting genre against genre is what everyone likes to do. do I care for mumble rap, no, because I have diminished hearing and what I hear a lot of the time is mumbles.
that's understandable, like... not enjoying metal ok, but saying they dont have talent, for me as a musician, it just sounds insane lol. And look, does this lady knows horror movies? cuz i dont think the actors playing the murders are crazy when they are performing their acting as their characters
You should play her snuff. She’d actually here the “music” that she apparently can’t hear in this song. Snuff is a very beautiful song specifically the life version with just Corey Taylor(singer of Slipknot).
This video was the first single sfter the band had lost its bass player (Paul Gray RIP) and sacked OG drummer Joey Jordisson (also now RIP 2022) around 2014/15 The video is them moving on from their previous masks/personas, each death is their worst fear (the DJ loses his fingers, others blown up, set on fire, eaten by birds) The two being stabbed are the 2 new member as part of initiation, they werent allowed choice of masks at that point Its a fairly commercial song, along with others of this period of the band - Duality, Before I Forget and Psychosocial If you want pure Slipknot, angry, pissed, depressed, fast.... Listen to People = Shit or Disasterpiece (London 2002 live), Heretic Anthem, SIC, Eyeless If you want to see them keeping 80,000 people happy at Download (UK festival held at Donington near Leicester/Derby), check out Spit It Out (Download 2009) Saw them there in 2023 with 100,000 people in the crowd, off to see their 25th anniversary tour in Manchester in December
Remember: Dhamer, Gacy, Ridgewat and Bundy were all straight-laced pillars of society...who killed a LOT of people. And didn't listen to metal. Yet some of the most caring and giving people are metalheads who understand that life blows sometimes and need an outlet. As for talent: their music, and MOST metal mysic, is complex and layered bith in lyrics and actual nusic theory. FAR MORE so than "my umbrella ella ella ella" and "All the sungle ladies" repeated for 27 times in a single song.
Slipknot were at Ozzfest in their earlier days (ozzy osbournes music festival) and ozzy loves them and once asked corey if he cpuld be the 10th member of slipknot as a joke because he loved them
Yknow have your mom try to make music with a band and see how that comes out slipknot is one of the greatest bands of all time and they are ultra talented, I have a wide range music taste, I even like some classical, pop, and the sort. I even love chill guitar songs, I play guitar, and ik how to play some slipknot songs saying slipknot is not talented it’s stupid I think your mom should attempt doing it
So...I'm a 40yr old man who's earned multiple college degrees including a Ph.D. in Engineering and has built a successful career in manufacturing and product development...and I did it all while listening to metal music, including Slipknot and much more extreme metal bands. I still often listen to metal while working because yes, I find it beautiful and interesting. Please show this comment to your mother, as she needs to understand that whatever image she has in her head regarding who enjoys this music is just a product of her own fear and misunderstanding. Studies have proven repeatedly that people who listen to more extreme types of music are psychologically healthier, more open minded and highly creative. I'm certain if she can get past her prejudice she would find a band or two that she could enjoy in the metal genre. Sleep Token is actually a very good idea as they sort of dance in between rock and metal. You could also try out some older more digestible bands such as Black Sabbath and Metallica.
Honest suggestion: Nightwish - Ghost Love Score or Romanticide(Live at Wacken), Jinjer - Pisces, Dream Theater - Panic Attack, Babymetal - Gimme Chocolate, In This Moment - Adrenalize Me or Black Wedding, Rob Zombie - Living Dead Girl or Feel So Numb, King Diamond - Sleepless Nights(Live at the Fillmore), Ghost - Danse Macabre(this is more rock than metal, but it would be a great song for the spooky season), and Sabaton - Bismark If you wanna push her I would recommend the following, her tirade after the song was kinda funny: Cradle of Filth - Nymphetamine Fix, Slayer - Serenity in Murder, Marilyn Manson - Beautiful People, Killswitch Engaged - My Last Serenade, Devildriver - Clouds Over California, Lamb of God - Redneck, and KMFDM - Amnesia
My mother raiser me on 80's metal, grunge, and this music like Slipknot. Got my PhD in Bio Engineering, and Mathematics at the current age of 34. As well as a veteran mechanic in Navy and now working in a nice career, married, and 1 month old son. This music never made me a miscreant and never been in trouble. Absolutely love heavy metal!!
9:20 that was the most childish thing she could have done ad a grown woman. As a 17 year old girl whos a metalhead, i always show respect and kindness which is what everyone should do. Even if shes not interested, she doesnt have to roll her eyes and make faces! The fact that they think one direction is talented compared to slipknot is just insane to me. I do not like one direction at all, but if someone showed me their music i’d try to look a bit more happy/excited. I always jam to music i dont like, because every kind of music genre can be fun if you have the right attitude
This old lady got the experience of one of Slipknot's talents without even realizing it - to cause horror and disgust. At least for this reason, it makes no sense to say that they have no talent. You won't be outraged that a horror movie is bad because it scared you.
a lot of slipknots songs are about the members pain and trauma and it’s one of the ways they do release there emotions also metal is such a hard genre to play drums gutair bass and even singing it’s hard as shi
Hii! From a maggot (slipknot fan), your moms reaction was so funny and about somethings, slipknot would be more a nu metal, i would recommend from slipknot snuff (more chill and sad, especially with the context) or disasterpiece (that the lyrics are more heavy), and a fun fact about Ozzy being mentioned, Sid (dj from slipknot) is in a relationship with Ozzys daughter, Kelly! And i hope she will have more fun with the next experience! (Sorry for the bad english btw, not my first language)
About the music: this one os about changing for the better, and killing "the devil" that are inside of them, in the lyrics is easier to understand but is also said by the director, owner and one of the members, Shawn Clown Crahan, but of course in a dark and horror way, because is cool :D. But Slipknot and metal in general is a lot about respect and being yourself with no fear of what people will think about you, just enjoying what you can, and if you have a rough day/life you can have this moment for release (idk how to spell this) your anger and what you are feeling
Well, Forbes ranked Slipknot in the top 10 greatest metal bands of all time, at number 7, behind only Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Pantera, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and Metallica. I guess they are talented after all.
Unfortunately your mom doesn't know that metalheads are some of the most well adjusted and happy people in the world. This is what we listen to in order to release our anger in a safe space among other fans who are there for the same reason. Sorry she is completely wrong in her completely dumb comments.
I love seeing people react to metal. Especially when they immediately go to the "it should be banned" route. It's been scientifically proven that people that listen to metal are generally happier and more out going people. My own anecdotal experience, metal calms me down, it's therapeutic. The "angrier" and more "brutal" it is the more effective it is. Now, country... Country pisses me off. 🤣😂
Read the comments. I didn't watch the video. I am all for analysis and criticism from those who understand the subject matter but can't watch the ignorant speak on what they don't understand. I prefer someone who says they don't know enough to evaluate but have an opinion about it instead.
The lead in was highly entertaining. The reaction was disappointing. It felt a bit hammy, but may have been genuine. If so, I'd hope that your propensity for travel would make you a bit more open minded. I wonder how different your reaction might have been if it had been performed by Ren? He also has a propensity for masks and the theatrical. This song was written and performed by people who had lost a bandmate, and represents a rebirth of the band, introducing two new members. The video, while graphic, is quite symbolic. I'd encourage you to watch the reaction by Elizabeth Zharoff at The Charismatic Voice. An opera singer, in recent years she has become fascinated by harsh vocals and close friends with Will Ramos from Lorna Shore (possibly the most delightful and wholesome friendship on the Internet). She is "disgusted" by the video but gives a thorough breakdown of the music and the vocals. Well worth the watch if you are willing to take a more open minded approach to the music and the people who appreciate it. "I am thorougly disgusted. Slipknot grosses me out again with 'The Devil In I'" ruclips.net/video/07MS8-GP_Ds/видео.htmlsi=hnsgoD6EwumcD7_L
Slipknot are considered Nu-metal. It’s a pretty versatile genre that combines elements of alternative and heavy metal with hip-hop, grunge, etc which flourished in the 90s and early 2000s. It died off quite a bit in the mid 2000s because there was so many Nu-Metal bands that it became oversaturated lol, but it’s had quite the revival as of recently. And yes, a lot of metal features classical elements or techniques, there’s a surprising amount of metal singers who are actually classically trained. Takes a lot of skill.
Coming into the reaction with such a closed mind removed any ability your mother had for understanding the metaphors, the lyrics, the outlet this type of music allows without being destructive. Quite sad, really.
This video actually symbolizes them killing off their former selves to start a new era of the band. Each album they have different masks (for the most part). Nine members each with their own number starting zero to eight. One vocalist, two guitarists, one bass guitarist, one drummer, two percussionists/backup vocalists, one DJ, and one sound/samples guy. They're from Iowa USA 🇺🇸. Mostly Des Moines. They have several albums to date (10/8/24). Their debut album was self titled (Slipknot) and released in 1999. It was extremely influential and ground breaking at the time. Their second album was titled Iowa and released in 2001 and was very well received and most fans say it's their heaviest album. Their third album was titled The Subliminal Verses in 2004 and was a little more "mainstream" but still kept their core heavyness. Their fourth album was titled All Hope Is Gone released in 2008, their fifth album was titled The Gray Chapter and released in 2014, their sixth album was titled We Are Not Your Kind and released in 2019, their seventh album called The End So Far released in 2022 and for me it was their weakest album and the first album I couldn't listen to from beginning to end and truly like every song.
I know it may be overdone with reactions on youtube already, but maybe try JINJER Pisces (Live Session). I feel though to appreciate the art of it you have to understand the fact that the song is about the duality of life. Good and evil, life and death, etc. and while the lead singer Tatiana's style may not be your cup of tea, it's hard to argue that she's not talented.
Growing up in the Midwest does things to us. They're from Des Moines and I'm from Kansas City. I took my daughter to see them. Her 2nd concert. We love it.
There's nine members and Slipknot is one of the most successful metal bands to ever exist since 1999. - Not THE most successful, but one of. Each album they wear different masks and this video was the introduction to their new masks in 2014. The song is in fact about shedding your demons and former selves and embracing a new you. When each character dies, they are wearing their previous masks. Believe it or not 90% of Slipknot songs are about dealing with or improving your mental health. This video was also the introduction of the two new members (in the wheelchairs) because Paul Gray (bassist) and Joey Jordison (legendary drummer) passed away. So when they stab the people in the wheelchairs that is the rest of the band 'jumping' them in. A sort of welcome that is common practice in street gangs. Paul died of an overdose and it was a day that will live in infamy for metal fans. Corey the singer, spearheaded the effort to get the rest of the band to kick their various addictions and Joey passed away due to a chronic disease he had since he was a kid. That was a day the metal world stood still. I can not tell you how many painful experiences Slipknot has helped me through and I lost count as to how many times I have seen them live. They are my top #1 favorite bands of all time. - Maggot for life! 🤘 PS. we are everywhere. Expect us. Cannibal Corpse next, so we can tell you about all the children's charity George is involved in or Lamb of God because Randy has one of the most incredible vocal abilities ever.
Metal has been extremely good for my mental health. There's a catharsis to it. It's not meant for everyone, but I was very disappointed in the judgmental attitude your mom had to the fans. Most of us have deep wounds that this kind of music helps to heal. They've shown us we're not alone in our pain.
This song is so fully packed with emotion and detail, there is so much depth in it, i always find it sad when people can't bring themselves to be open minded enaugh to see it. The second it started she built up the defensive walls, started chugging her alcohol and shut down every bit of her senses to deniy as much as possible. Yes this music is ugly, it is ment to be ugly, because that is how the truth looks sometimes. You will not be lucky enaugh to hide from the truth forever. Nobody is that lucky. Some people not only find beauty in that uglyness, but they embrace and enjoy it. Don't you think it would be easier to face reality with a mindset like this?
Corey Taylor (The Voice of Slipknot) - Snuff (Accoustic)…and there is a bombastic Song of Corey Taylor with his other band Stone Sour: Hesitate!!!!!! MUST HEAR IT!!!! Your mother will love this song,I promise!!!! There is another band of this genre: Five Finger Death Punch with 'Wrong Side Of Heaven' and 'I Refuse' good luck! 😉
It'd help if you actually tried to follow along the lyrics because the chorus literally says "See the Devil in I, You'll realized I'm not your Devil anymore." The song's confronting those inner demons, confronting the Devil within you. The music video too, although gruesome, is ironically about the band members killing their egos and bettering as people.
OMG I think her head would explode if she heard Deviloof. Slipknot is very talented and they are from Des Moines, Iowa. And yes they are from the United States. They aren't the Beatles or Elvis, but they do have an awesome fan base and very well known worldwide and sell out shows everywhere they go.
As an alternative listen for your mother I have a great suggestion. Although, it comes with a contingency. Please please please have her listen to the Slipknot song Snuff. The contingency is that you should not tell her it is Slipknot. Tell her it is a surprise blind listen. Gather her thoughts after the listen, and then reveal to her that what she had just heard is the band Slipknot. I’m sure she will by mystified that it is the same group of individuals that made The Devil In I. If you don’t tell her it is Slipknot from the get go, she may listen to it with unbiased ears. She may very well, dare I say it, enjoy that song. I must say, that I am very curious to see how this would play out. I hope you do get to this suggestion.
I would love to see you and your mother listen to Lorna Shore Pain Remains Trilogy. It is a deathcore band, a song about love and loss, and one of the best metal vocalists at this time. There is an official video with lyrics because if you are not use to deathcore vocals you will not understand them. The lyrics are poetic in nature while the music is fast and intense. I heard your mother say that Slipknot lacks the ability to play their instruments but I have to disagree with her respectfully. Lorna Shore has top tier instrumentalist that play at a highly technical and fast pace. This trilogy is nearly 20 minutes long. I have seen the videos a hundred times and I cry every time. I have seen these guys three times live and they are amazing at their craft. I do not believe you’ll become their super fans at the end but if you can watch and read the lyrics you’ll see a story unfold that is real, tragic, and gut wrenching while being beautiful all at the same time. Please consider my offer and walk into this with a full understanding that the vocalist makes noises that you’ll find weird or disturbing but it’s a style that requires the same level of training and effort that an opera singer brings. Will Ramos is great friends with the Charismatic Voice channel host and opera singer. She has spent a lot of time with him and breaks down the technique used. Sorry for the length of this comment but I love this trilogy and the band all together. I wish people could see that the music is heavy and aggressive in nature but contains beauty and talent. It’s not for everyone. I just hate when it’s passed aside because it’s misunderstood. Thank you so much if you see this and I look forward to seeing a reaction if you decide it’s something you’d like to try. Thank you again
In her mothers defense, she has a peer preassure from her friends and family she has to try and convince she is against this genre. Just something she has to say to "defend" herself. We maggots cant take it seriously as she is just in a state of "panic".
She has the right to have these feelings.. the shock she gets is what slipknot has given for years.. it's what made them special from the start.. But this is a PRIME example.. to not grow old and close minded.. because you'll miss out in all the spectrums of life..
With everything down to schizophrenia. Slipknot has been a very huge help to me and maintaining the hell bent side of me. Helping me keep myself a nice and layed back person. Never once have I felt driven over the edge by any of their music as it’s my way of coping with the hell that my mind unleashes on itself. Helps conquer the fear I’ve had growing up of seeing funky figures with distorted white and red eyes telling me things and trying to “hurt” me. Slipknot is a phenomenal band and they’re honestly a bunch of single brain celled goofballs that have huge hearts and a great sense of humor. The music is their help, their release of what is buried inside them.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN! (almost) 😉🦇👻 What do we think? Is Slipknot just loud noise or clever music? 😏 Thank you for watching, lovely people! ✨🥰
Very well made and clever music

Saying Slipknot has no talent shattered the illusion of expertise and sophistication your mother was trying to convey.

It's almost like my grandma on the left with that opinion, what an awful take.

I felt watched out for the whole time, all by boys and men, many of whom would be judged as dangerous or mean based on their looks. That entire experience is in my top five favorite memories (unrelated to my kids.)
Slipknot often ends their concerts with something along the lines of “YOU’RE ALL F-ING AMAZING!
I dunno… some people are just extremely closed minded
now show her corey taylor snuff acoustic and only afterwards reveal that hes the lead singer
I totally agree! Take away this fear of "those people" and show her we are humans. And actually more open and respectful than that lady^^
Hear hear!!!
YES!!
YES!!!
Duality is a great song to react if she pays attention to the lyrics.
I couldn’t live without metal but can surely live with people not loving it.
she might know about music, just not intense music
Your mother is extremely judgemental towards fans, and clearly has no expertise in music. Saying that there is 0 talent in a band when the lead singer is one of the most versatile, talented singers in the world. The rest of the band are very talented too. Her reaction angered me more than entertained me.
Irritated the shit out of me as well. Her and Tipper Gore are kindred spirits.
Kom ihåg dessa är troligen från Storbritannien de anser sig ofta som lite eller mycket bättre än de flesta andra på planeten jorden!?.
Så igentligen inte alls speciellt förvånande att vi får denna reaktion.
Not liking it is one thing, saying they aren't talented is ridiculous and close minded. Your mom is quite rude...btw!
Nah it's so funny! lol
I wonder how can someone get to this age and be so uneducated
I have the same reaction as her mom when i listen to Taylor Swift
11:29 actually. many studies have shown that those who listen to metal music are more emotionally stable, mentally mature and higher IQ than those who don't 🤷
yea but you can tell that shes also not the brightest one
What a well written comment
as my nan would describe her sort: "the kind pf person who says to never speaks ill of the dead while there pissing on someone's graves"
I'm a metal head and I also enjoy classical music and opera!
This. Metal gives me the energy and motivation, but in my room at night I like to put a playlist of violin and piano music in my pc before sleep
Slipknot - Snuff. you will be surprised
*acoustic
Well, if that’s not the most close minded thing I’ve ever seen.
For real 😂
The Devil in I is one of their more commercial-friendly songs. I'm surprised she couldn't even bring herself to compliment the vocals.
Not everyone gets art. Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comforted.
This might be the most posh video I’ve ever seen but I am at least entertained lmao.
it does come off very pretentious lol but it was funny
To me slipknot is a type of therapy for things im going through and it talks about problems with mental health and others struggles.
Tell your mum to listen to Hammer Smashed Face by Cannibal Corpse
😂
LMFAAOOOO
😂😂
Blasphemain - infant annhilator
Not “I cum blood”?
that's understandable, like... not enjoying metal ok, but saying they dont have talent, for me as a musician, it just sounds insane lol. And look, does this lady knows horror movies? cuz i dont think the actors playing the murders are crazy when they are performing their acting as their characters
Ozzy's daughter is married to sid Wilson from this band 😂
They're in a relationship and have a kid together, but they're not married.
imagine her trying to listen to johnnascus, she would have an aneurism n call her local priest
i mean johnnascus makes the most unfriendly music to the ears of new listeners. bros music is like a bad acid trip in audio form
Yeah this isn’t the most mumzy friendly music vid LOL, these reactions killed me
You should play her snuff. She’d actually here the “music” that she apparently can’t hear in this song. Snuff is a very beautiful song specifically the life version with just Corey Taylor(singer of Slipknot).
The way the mother acted in this video, being the first I have watched on your channel, made me decide not to finish or watch any more.
I forget which one, but a university and psychologists did studies showing that metal is very therapeutic and actually really good for you.
This video was the first single sfter the band had lost its bass player (Paul Gray RIP) and sacked OG drummer Joey Jordisson (also now RIP 2022) around 2014/15
The video is them moving on from their previous masks/personas, each death is their worst fear (the DJ loses his fingers, others blown up, set on fire, eaten by birds)
The two being stabbed are the 2 new member as part of initiation, they werent allowed choice of masks at that point
Its a fairly commercial song, along with others of this period of the band - Duality, Before I Forget and Psychosocial
If you want pure Slipknot, angry, pissed, depressed, fast....
Listen to People = Shit or Disasterpiece (London 2002 live), Heretic Anthem, SIC, Eyeless
If you want to see them keeping 80,000 people happy at Download (UK festival held at Donington near Leicester/Derby), check out Spit It Out (Download 2009)
Saw them there in 2023 with 100,000 people in the crowd, off to see their 25th anniversary tour in Manchester in December
These two old cunts don’t give af about anything but crumpets and tea time with mother dearest.
joey passed in 21 not 22
Remember: Dhamer, Gacy, Ridgewat and Bundy were all straight-laced pillars of society...who killed a LOT of people.
I even love chill guitar songs, I play guitar, and ik how to play some slipknot songs saying slipknot is not talented it’s stupid I think your mom should attempt doing it
9:10 I just love how the dog is clearly excited and playfull for seeing him and they try to pass it out as a dog trying to attack him🤣🤣🤣
So...I'm a 40yr old man who's earned multiple college degrees including a Ph.D. in Engineering and has built a successful career in manufacturing and product development...and I did it all while listening to metal music, including Slipknot and much more extreme metal bands.
Honest suggestion: Nightwish - Ghost Love Score or Romanticide(Live at Wacken), Jinjer - Pisces, Dream Theater - Panic Attack, Babymetal - Gimme Chocolate, In This Moment - Adrenalize Me or Black Wedding, Rob Zombie - Living Dead Girl or Feel So Numb, King Diamond - Sleepless Nights(Live at the Fillmore), Ghost - Danse Macabre(this is more rock than metal, but it would be a great song for the spooky season), and Sabaton - Bismark
If you wanna push her I would recommend the following, her tirade after the song was kinda funny: Cradle of Filth - Nymphetamine Fix, Slayer - Serenity in Murder, Marilyn Manson - Beautiful People, Killswitch Engaged - My Last Serenade, Devildriver - Clouds Over California, Lamb of God - Redneck, and KMFDM - Amnesia
15:30 listen to snuff and tell me Slipknot and these guys aren’t musically talented and real music…
a lot of slipknots songs are about the members pain and trauma and it’s one of the ways they do release there emotions
also metal is such a hard genre to play drums gutair bass and even singing it’s hard as shi
Slipknot would be thrilled to hear your mother's reaction. Fantastic reaction and they should use her reaction as a promo
well thats one of the bands that saved me from my depression when i was 16y soo, dont think it should be banned
Your mother is so sweet. She has had no outworld experiences at all.
That needs to be banned is the most karen thing I have ever heard in a reaction video 😂
The description says "can we convert mom to metal" my answer is "and you start with Slipknot?"
I love being into Metal and Hip-hop, two genres that get judged before they're even given a chance.
The most British response to someone hanging themselves 😂😂😂 "Right, he's hung himself, has he?" 😂😂 I laughed so hard at that
Slipknot grosses me out again with 'The Devil In I'"

10:00 Dont worry my Love. My senior mom asks the same question at this exact moment. Cheers for trolling our parents. 😂🍻🤷🏾♂️
Their fourth album was titled All Hope Is Gone released in 2008, their fifth album was titled The Gray Chapter and released in 2014, their sixth album was titled We Are Not Your Kind and released in 2019, their seventh album called The End So Far released in 2022 and for me it was their weakest album and the first album I couldn't listen to from beginning to end and truly like every song.
after i told my mum that she listens to one direction she sarcastically said "look how much culture she has" your right mum
Great song !
As a huge slipknot fan this was absolutely hilarious
I'd love to see the like-dislike ratio on this, sad the feature got removed
You also would like to know that the guy that was eating his fingers Sid..is married to Ozzy Osbornes daughter Kelly
It's a rite of passage, honestly.
should never be banned! that is the definition of freedom of speech! and you are the one who is wrong there are over 400million views
Now let's watch her reaction to "Scissors" or "Get this"
Growing up in the Midwest does things to us. They're from Des Moines and I'm from Kansas City. I took my daughter to see them. Her 2nd concert. We love it.
Jag älskar den yngre damens reaktion på den äldre damens reaktion 🤣🤣
She thought she was going to torture her mother and ended up with nightmares herself... Lol..
Her mother and herself couldn't even handle slipknots awesome music. You can see it in both there facial expressions.
This women still has a lot of life lessons to learn
Never before have I seen such a perfect case of, "I will hate it and you can't stop me".
Don't you think it would be easier to face reality with a mindset like this?
watching her get traumatized was an experiance
Corey Taylor (The Voice of Slipknot) - Snuff (Accoustic)…and there is a bombastic Song of Corey Taylor with his other band Stone Sour: Hesitate!!!!!! MUST HEAR IT!!!! Your mother will love this song,I promise!!!! There is another band of this genre: Five Finger Death Punch with 'Wrong Side Of Heaven' and 'I Refuse' good luck! 😉
Iowa in the great USA.
The level of disrespect metal gets is baffling. Her react is to this song is way more aggressive than 99.999% of the metalheads I've met.
Tell your mom to try the lovely boy band from Britain Infant Annihilator with the song Decapitation Fornication
she would hear that name and leave you cant make it that obvious
It'd help if you actually tried to follow along the lyrics because the chorus literally says "See the Devil in I, You'll realized I'm not your Devil anymore." The song's confronting those inner demons, confronting the Devil within you.
The music video too, although gruesome, is ironically about the band members killing their egos and bettering as people.
Should have played her some Dying Fetus, Infant Annihilator, or Portal.
Slipknot is tame by comparison.
I hate this kind of people so much 😭
SLIPKNOT is one of my inspirations for playing their drum lines. They kick ass
She’s ready for Slaughter to Prevail
If she thinks this is bad wait till she can actually hear a coherent ballad. Her next listen should be to the Bridge City Sinners.
I love this. Your mom is hilarious 😂 Hope you do more! Until then, I'll continue staring at a wall in my white jacket.
The funny thing is that she explained the meaning of devil in I without realizing that she just explained it
You want to really freak your mom out have her listen to band named jinjer "pisces ". This girl will make her question everything
grandma got bad taste in music (but i respect her opinion)
In her mothers defense, she has a peer preassure from her friends and family she has to try and convince she is against this genre. Just something she has to say to "defend" herself. We maggots cant take it seriously as she is just in a state of "panic".
She has the right to have these feelings.. the shock she gets is what slipknot has given for years.. it's what made them special from the start.. But this is a PRIME example.. to not grow old and close minded.. because you'll miss out in all the spectrums of life..
Of course in Mother's day, the "different" children were locked in the cellar, to avoid embarrassing one in front of the neighbours 😆
Pretentious and clueless boomers are my favourite content.
It has actually been proven that people who listen to metal are in a more mentally stable position than a person who listens to some other music 😌
