There is nothing to be ashamed of my friend, we all start somewhere and we do mistakes. It is very important to understand that mistakes happen to teach us, not to demotivate ;) but it's been some time now, wasn't it? Any progress you would care to share with us?

thanks dude. was in a hurry and go t the kiddos ready to trick or treat but I forgot to pick a Halloween costume for me. kinda went into panic mode. I couldn't find ANYTHING. not even like pajamas. I started digging through this wardrobe thing, and I was almost to Narnia when I pulled out my gi. yay. cool cool, but it's been so long I realized I forgot how to tie the belt! kids were waiting - they wanted candy and were becoming feral. I had already wrapped my belt around my waist but when I looked down at my hands I drew a total blank. *lightbulb* took 2 secs, thanks so much. you saved halloween. I think if I took any longer we could have been dealing with a children of the corn scenario. never took jiujitsu but my ex knows it and showed me some - comes in useful. kungfu mostly for me. I messed up my back really bad and they want to do another big surgery, so I can't spar or anything. I've been trying to think of ANYTHING I can work on with no strength in my back, do you have any ideas? I can't be the only disabled martial artist right? im only thinking of it because I found the belt in the closet and thought it might help me feel a little better. sorry such a long comment =]
Maybe you can try striking, mostly punches as they target more the shoulders and abs but I think you should try it for yourself and work your way up. Thanks!

You need to upsize your belt
I once forgot my belt on my way to class. My coach made me do 40 burpees and once I had done 10, he started counting and I was totally dead afterwards

Not gonna lie, it bugs me a bit when I see adults/black belts wearing a belt with the visible cross on the back. I had to tie it smooth every time when I was a kid so I became ocd about it

I use the super knot/Hollywood knot. Holds nice. The thumbnail for this video got me tho. Lol.

? Yes but aren't the stripes etc supposed to be on a certain side? You missed that. And wrong. There's the Hollywood knot you can tie and it never comes undone. Look up Hollywood Gracie belt tie. But I like mine to be able to come undone otherwise people grab it and use it against you. Plus you want to be able to use your lapel for chokes and release it easy...

The stripe is on the wrong side, that's not how royce gracie ties his belt or his family.. the stripe should be on the right side once it's tied correctly.

This video just proves that even black belts don’t always know best … that is the easiest way to tie it but also the weakest and I would rather have someone grabbing my belt then not have my belt on and get sweep or submitted with my own gi
