(Full) How To Modify Harley Sportster Exhaust Baffles DIY

Step by step how to drill out your baffles and get great sound! I am the most pleased with this hole pattern in comparison to all the other time I have done this. I get a little tiny bit of popping on a down shift but it is not annoying it is just right in my opinion and the bigger holes unlocked some of the deeper tones from what I can tell. Good luck!

Great video! I was hoping you would have filmed the result, maybe you can post that? Quick question though, have you ever messed with the plate in the middle of the baffle? I've seen most guys just drill that out..

I'm not sure what you mean by the "rest of it" if your referring to the sound of the exhaust on the bike the I left that out intentionally because it's really hard to get accurate audio that sounds decent. To your other question no I have never drilled out the center plate. I have a feeling you would get more of the higher pitched sounds that come out of the motor. Have fun and experiment!

+Gavin Spesock Agreed, I'm sure it would give it that tingy sound that I don't care for. Good video though, plan to do this with some stock exhaust I got for free. Just need to get someone to weld it back when it's done.

For all that work you should have just got and extension and used a hole saw to cut out the plug in the middle of the baffle. It would sound and perform about the same.

What year exhaust are those? I just tried this on a 16' sportster, but the baffle is still stuck in there..

Do you know if you have to tune the bike if you run it without baffles?

You do not NEED to tune it at all or adjust your carbs. If you're worried about hurting the engine, it won't happen.

You drill to fast… this hole drills are for slow drilling speed..
