and how !! all the hairs , both arms , i daresay given some time in a studio she could nail the esoteric niceities of the high notes , but i quite like the raw edge to them , any time i cover anything i always put my mark on it somewhere ..fair play to her it was amazing
I've seen her twice in Milwaukee. Absolutely nails it every time. The first time, for which there is video here on RUclips, the standing ovation was about 5 minutes long.
This is such a stellar song. The degree of difficulty in writing this blows my mind. A song with no words, yet only the very best vocalists in the world can only hope to give its emotions justice. Logics dictates that no such song can exist - yet here we are. Remarkable in every way.
was front row at the pittsburgh show, out of body experience honestly. she crushes it every time and this year will be my third year hearing it live. can’t wait.
for decades every time I heard someone try to cover this song I'd cringe. FINALLY. FI-NAL-LY!!!!!!!!!! THE closest if not a match, this was fucking awesome. goosebumps.
Y'all should do yourselves a favor and find recordings of the band out of the Wilmington Delaware area ("Echoes" the American Pink Floyd tribute band). They have a girl(Michele), who, if not as talented as this woman, even more talented... she's absolutely amazing!
Rachel Fury at 'the delicate sound of thunder' tour is still the very best version, apart from the original by Claire Tory. You should at least listen to this version. For me it's the best ever!
I didn't think this was humanly possible... I have seen the 'Floyd Live, thrice now but never, with Ms Torry. Many came close....Rachael Fury is my 2nd place to Clare but, I think she's just gone to 3rd after watching Eva Nick!....
@@martinsheanon3232 yeah, you would kinda think after a performance like hers on that song, she would have had a bigger career, Im not sure if she gets royalties, she was hired as a session player
@@samking6583 Claire Torry does get royalties on it now - she put in a claim for them a few years ago and the band (rightly) agreed to credit her as co-composer as she improvised the vocal line in the studio.
Better than the original both in talent and style (the original high vocals were of a sloppy style at some points). Would have been great if Floyd had put some words to this song with the high vocals contrasting at least through some of the song.
Sacrilege. This song has the power to bring grown men to tears without lyrics and the original vocal is legendary. Not to make less of this particular performance (it was incredible), but if it sounds more polished than the original it's because Clare Torrey was tossed into a recording booth with almost no explanation of what they wanted. Her result was never sloppy; it was a raw stream of consciousness that was recorded almost entirely in one take. That's the element that will almost never be captured again simply because every note, every breath, and every howl is so well known and has been practiced countless times. Without that, even the best cover is akin to a photocopy of the original.
@@giggles7179 I like your passionate response, though you missed my point somewhat, though admittedly I could have made myself a bit clearer. My point was that she (Clare) chose a kind of sloppier style for a few brief periods on the orignal (I forget where at the moment). Her overall singing was marvellous regardless of the apparently rushed circumstances of the crazy recording business. I've loved this song since I was kid 40 eons ago. I do think that a more consistent classical style all the way through would have been better, also with Floyd putting some words in the song. This was my belief prior to hearing this current video, where the singer maintains a classical style throughout. No scientific right or wrong here, just a difference in style appreciations I suppose.
Holy moly, not even PF themselves ever had a singer doing this song better. I always thought it'd be kind of a sacrilege trying to play this live as Clare Torry never had a chance herself, but this here is pretty legit (and i usually don't like 1:1 covers at all).
Clare Torrey did get a chance to sing it live. She didn’t copy her original version though and it was substandard to her original. This performance was superior to what Clare Torrey did live.
This is the only version I have heard that even comes close to the Great Claire Torrey's version.

Look up Atom
Yup
My favorite is Vivian Donner with Atom ruclips.net/video/kK0rpKOEAt0/видео.html
Went to see them 3 times this year and she has nailed it perfectly each time. She even did it better than when Claire Tory did it live in concert.
Beautiful, I never heard anybody master the original. Thank you

I have heard her live - she is the personified gig.
What? Personified gig?
@@RobertDeLGF My interpretation of "gig" in this context is "heavenly concert", what is yours?
No one can have a tone like her and ever be forgotten !😍
🙌👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏y love it! ❤❤❤❤❤

Just saw her do this a couple months ago and I was amazed. She got a standing ovation which was well deserved.
Eva sei la MIGLIORE DI TUTTE...complimenti davvero di cuore
MAI PROVATA UN EMOZIONE COSI....BRAVI TUTTI MA una voce così è da BRIVIDI
Saw one of her early performances in Newcastle UK 2019, she was amazing even then..
This as close the the live 80s version with PF . WOW 😳😳😳, Beautiful ❤️

Whoa, absolutely crushed it! That was beautiful. Thanks!
No problem. Glad you enjoyed it
100 % Amazing !!!
I believe Claire would have to be happy listening to this performance. That was fantastic.

I saw her sing it live of course but I still get goose bumps myself. I get it. She's amazing!!
yup !!! finally !!!
Wow…on a raison d’être fier de notre petite québécoise …quelle voix, bravo
I saw her perform this on 06-Aug-2022 at the Paramount in Huntington, NY. It was the only song I recorded. She was incredible.
Magnificent! Truly Magnificent! Beautiful!
Absolutely nailed that. Shivers down the spine moment.
What a beautiful job!! Bravo!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
from now on every time I come across someone covering this song I will comment with the link to THIS video!
Eva is forever in my books Goddess of Great Gig
HOLY COW!!!!!!!!!! #AMAZING
Superb!!
Great singing, well done, bravo !!
I've found another - "Fantastic Eva"
As others have said, Eva is the closest to Claire Torrey as anyone has ever got. I love the way she plays the vocals with her arms, hands and fingers.
That was really good. As close as anyone could possibly come.
Pure magic
holy F**K! she is amazing!
My girl
Oh my gosh....Clare Torrey has been cloned. Awesome performance.
WOW!!!!
really great
Breathtaking. Literally. As in, I don't think I took a breath once after that spotlight came up on her.

Well, dang! I'm happy for her. It must feel good!
Only other person that can communicate this song the way Clare Tory intended

but that was the best it was sung bet she's waiting for her royalties all these years later plus interest
