Man, I have listened to so many variations and covers of this song in my 52 years on the planet, this woman or we will say LADY, in my books, not only has the best vocal version of this song other than the original, but has the emotional content to bring that feeling out of your chest and heart, to put a tear in your eyes and really make you believe you are floating around in the real GREAT GIG IN THE SKY. I don't know who you are but your talents are better than planet earth and you deserve to be in the heavens.

Instead Eva copied the original melody almost note for note (especially in the A section), but instead brought her own passion to it in an undeniable way that words can't quite describe. It's a winning move. Masterful performance.

From someone who has listened to this album hundreds of times since it's release in '73, the previous Brit Floyd singer, Angela Cervantes, was even closer to being note-for-note to the original. After such a long passage of time for this song, I wouldn't doubt Eva Avila deliberately/slightly put her own spin on it, which I certainly can't fault.

This is the only version I have seen live and I was completely blown away by it. Listening to the original album I figured it was engineered that way with many overlaying vocal tracks. Hearing it live, by Eva Avila, was simply amazing and I’ll never forget it.

I'm not an emotional guy for the most part...however her voice brings tears every time I listen to this...had the pleasure to hear her live in san antonio couple years ago...I had no idea that voice would come out of her and when she hit that 1st note the hair on the back of my neck stood up... I was in a trance for her entire performance as was the rest of the crowd...and I wasn't even high or drunk...every eye and ear there was focused intently on her...this woman was put on earth to sing...I pray I get to see her again live

A masterpiece, the word we use to describe something special above and beyond. The song and Eva's rendition couldn't be more profoundly moving. For some it's ecstasy, for me it's the sound one can imagine from that last person alive on earth screaming out to a God that doesn't exist, in a universe with no mercy. Either way it's beautiful. Brings tears every time . What a band? What a singer?
