I was looking forward to this vid. Time to study with the master! I'll probably watch this a few times and save it for reference. One thing: don't you think that compressed raw is a fine choice for a casual user?
Thanks Michalis. Probably you can shoot compressed, but here are few things to keep in mind from Sony: - Once an image is stored in a Compressed RAW format it cannot be decompressed, meaning that the image will lose some of its data; - This format is recommended when you want to shoot continuously at the maximum speed or limit the file size; - It is the smallest RAW image file size. I don't remember how significant was the file size image, but at the time of testing this for my A7IV, I decided that Losless Compression is the middle ground (A7IV has also uncompressed with massive file size, which I never use).
I have both cameras and besides the better resolution (33mp vs 26mp), you won’t see significant improvement in quality in good conditions. I actually made a comparison video recently A6700 vs A7CII which should give you a pretty good understanding of they are capable of: ruclips.net/video/eKxu0RqFNZg/видео.html
I find A6700 to be better in daily light not because of video quality but because it has 4K120fps, 4K60 without crop and all the new AI features. A7IV feels a tiny bit outdated but its still amazing with full HDMI port, full frame sensor, 2 cards etc
@@Chris-wv8cn if you want a bigger buffer then set it to Compressed. You will lose a bit of quality, but will be able to burst for longer. To maximize the quality- stick with lossless compression

I bought the a6000 body only watching your videos. Saving up for the lens now!
I keep binge watching Sony a6700 videos! I’m just waiting for the right price before jumping into the Sony ecosphere. Thank you for this video Toms!!

Tanks, nice Video
Thank you!
Do you know if the difference between the Sony a6700 and the Sony a7iv is noticeable during the day?

@ Is this just video clips or also with taking photos?

Is it useful to set my settings to lossless compression if I want to take a lot of sports photos?
