I put a Memphis Shade on my sportster 72. 2 levers and it comes off. When I ride around town I have it off. If I take 100 mile cruise with highways I put it on and it really helps.

Nothing like that feeling when you bring home a new bike, it was all in that ear to ear grin on your face when you mounted up to pull her in the garage!
One thing I ponder is, "Will Lowrider ST bags fit on her?" That might make day trips easier if you decide to pound out a few hundred mile trip on the Breakout just to see "what it is".
Must be one heck of a torque monster, a 117 stuffed into a Soft Tail frame.

its not a bagger, the concept is to keep it minimalist. less is more if that makes sense. 😊

Great looking bike Robert! I recently purchased a 23 Low Rider S with the 117ci engine in it also. I have a set of TAB Performance pipes on hand for it, waiting to get them installed. I ordered a Saddlemen step up seat at the end of January, but it hasn’t come in yet. Looking forward to seeing some more videos. Congrats!

I hope you have better luck than I did....Yesterday I picked up a brand new 2023 Breakout (orange) with just 4 miles on It , rode It home from the dealership about 120 miles parked It In my garage came back 20 minutes later and noticed the bike was covered In oil on the right side and a pool of oil on the floor , I checked up under the motor by the back wheel and saw that they are three holes In a line the oil Is poring out of those holes , i was lucky the oil didn't get to the back tire . anyway long story short the dealership just came to pick It up I just hope Its an easy fix ...GL with your bike mate ride safe .

The breakout is a good bike. It has got the seating space of a touring bike and yet it is lighter. Only issue is here in Australia it is now 40K. Out of reach for many. It was the best selling softail until last year. I think the reason is looks and comfort.
Miss my 2016 & 2018 Breakouts. You'll love it!!!

Great to see you and the Breakout! Again I will test ride one some day. Looking forward to what you do. I am not happy to hear about the heat from what I think might be the oil tank. That could be a deal breaker for me. I spent plenty of money on getting rid of heat from my 103 and I will not go through that again. I could live with the seat, but LED's yes, TAB'S yes, foot boards yes. Windshield for sure. I would not go without a Windshield. I always put several miles on my bikes. They all have had 35000 to 55000 miles before I get something else. Have fun Robert.

I was planning to buy one last December but I was concerned Harley would install a 117 the following year so I got a Low rider S 117 instead. Harley has upgraded the game since 2022. Damn bad ass looking motorbike. Especially those rims, they look freaking sick. congrats !

Check out the fully adjustable Monoshock for the rear suspension from RWD. It has a remote reservoir which mounts on the left side of the bike. I see lots of these on softails out here in So. Cal. Pricey but worth it. I have one on my '22 Low Rider S and it made a huge difference (improvement in both ride quality & handling; plus looks nice) over the stock HD OE Monoshock.

Robert, the bike looks really awesome! HD would appear to have gotten this variant right - certainly in the looks department. I’ve read quite a few RUclips vlogs where HD reliability or lack of has taken front and centre stag along with poor after sales etc and showroom sales service. Would be interested in your comments and view both now and hopefully in future videos. Think your commentary, presentation and information is first class, keep the videos coming.

I'd be looking at a quick release windshield if I end up getting one. I had that on my 02 Softail and it really helped going on the highways (needed at times). But when I was going back roads, or lower speeds, I would just leave it at home. Gives you the best of both worlds IMO. Put it on when needed, but leave it off otherwise.

Robert, you are the Man! I kinda had a feeling you were gonna buy the Breakout after your last vid, but I didn't want you to think I was presumptuous. Congrats and Best of Luck on your new sled. I agreed with all the upgrades you mentioned. I think a Mustache Engine guard is fitting. I would also see about Axel nut caps to finish the look(I personally like the spikes). Also, despite all the chrome on this bike, it needs a little more. The brake, clutch and handle bar control housing should be chrome(leave the buttons black). I had the 1979 FX Low Rider, back in the day - sold it when I bought my house. Now, retired, I opted for the Heritage Springer(a very different machine). Your instructional vids are keeping me safe - God bless, bro.

I mean yea its a cute little Softail but i can tell you 10 years with a CVO Heritage suspension my back could not stand it anymore so i sold it. Got 9k out of a 30k bike but that's how it goes. I heard they upgraded that Softail suspension but other then putting around town not sure what use you can get out of it. For a working man to many bikes in the garage means to much maintenance and less time for riding.
That suspension is getting upgraded for sure.

Oh, man! That bike fits you to a tee. I am so glad you are not going to put a windshield on it. It looks so good, as is. Of course you want to add your own touches to it to make it "yours", but I think that bike looks just right, straight from the factory. Harley got it right, like they usually do. Congrats!

I've still got the stock seat on my breakout because it's comfortable. It looks the same and has the same name plate as it does on yours. I was also wondering if the plate was going to make it uncomfortable, but you don't feel it at all. Been able to ride long distances 10 years later with the stock seat. Like the saying, if it ain't broke. If you're wearing a full face helmet, I wouldn't worry about a shield either. Happy motoring.

That bike ticks a lot of boxes: big gas tank, cruise control, outside load adjust, great looks. I'll probably test ride one but not sure whether this style would be a fit for me since I need a more utilitarian bike that I can add windscreen and bags and as you mentioned that would wreck the looks. Also this would not handle as well as my Street Bob.

I have a 18 Breakout 114 ci.And the wheel base was a concern at 1st but I play with here almost like KZ-1100 Kawasaki from back in the day and the power of the bike will blow you back w.o the passenger seat behind you I had Harley order & change the pipes and they voided the warranty but I love it and I'm in my 60's !

Robert, I will be the first to admit I’m jealous. I’ve always had my eye on the breakout and always end up buying something else. Just to also give you a heads up when you were talking about your foot controls. Harley does make extension forward controls for that bike if you’d like to stretch it out any further. I’m going to look forward to your upgrades for this bike. And the name your wife gives it.
