REDUX!!! Thanks so much Matt! This video is FANTASTIC and REALLY shows off one of the coolest features of the V-COMP - the 'OFF' MODE! Fantastic sources - I was shocked at how great the V-COMP was on BANJO and LAP STEEL! ❤❤❤
Audioscape. OK, I'm sure you know that you are a modern-day DaVinci, IMO. You are creating genius equipment for the masses that have never been accessible at the price/quality that I've experienced before, and I've been at this for 35 years. Thank you forever for that. I purchased your V-comp today and will, most likely, purchase many more pieces from you.
@@elimontoya8626 ELI! WOW!!! You are much too kind!! Thank you SO MUCH for the kind words... it means the WORLD to us and we're nothing less than HUMBLED! We're elated to give such joy to you and all of our other AS FAM! 🙏❤😍 Again, THANK YOU!! I have one small favor to ask IF you have a spare moment and once you've had ample time with your V-COMP - please leave an honest review on the V-COMP product page! These are all organic, user-submitted reviews and they help others out who may not know as much about us as most do hahaha. Much love Eli!!!! ❤❤❤
Dude. I hate to say it, but...you're 100%, completely RIGHT! This is a fantastic vid! I actually bought one today and your super-informative vid impressed greatly in my decisionmaking process. Thanks so much for taking the time!
@@Matt_McQueen My current project is a Tom Petty-ish, Merle Haggard type of acoustic rock/folk. Great stuff. The V-Comp will be used in mixing mainly. Vocals, bass, potentially some acoustic/electric guitars. I'll have to get to know the unit really well before I commit to tracking through it. We'll see. I have A LOT of outboard compressors, so I'll have to see how the V-Comp works with the guitars. Thanks for asking! I've wanted a Sta-Level-like compressor for years and $1500 for this quality was an absolute steal, IMO. Considering the RETRO is twice as much $. Best to you and yours.
Awesome video! Definitely picking up one of these comps soon so it was helpful to see your demo. However, I have a question about your PM1000 board behind you haha. Does yours have direct outs so you can use all of the channels individually? I have a 2 channel rack-mounted PM1000 strip and am considering just getting the full board but I cant find one with direct outputs. Thanks!!
@@Matt_McQueen Oh, I would love to see and hear that one in action. It struck me as a little cleaner than some other LA-2As, is that off base in your estimation?
Good question! it's a very different type of compression. I think you can punish a source with a sta level and it just sounds better and better no matter how hard you hit it.
Cool video! But every time you change the release time between fastest and slowest, I kept wishing you'd go only halfway (or slightly slower), instead. For the tempo of the source material you're using "slow" is too slow and "fast" is too fast. So I feel like we didn't get to hear the best sounds possible from this lovely device.
I’m not making records because of what audiences deserve. I’m making records because I enjoy the art form or recording and enjoy the process of helping bands create something they’re proud of.

I like when the universe imploded on the vocalist when you were testing the saturation, great demo lmao
yeah that was pretty rad, surprised me too!

Thanks for watching, glad you got one! What kind of music are you recording with it

Really great demo, and thorough! Thank you.
Thank you for watching and Commenting. I want to make one soon for the Opto, I recently got it and it sounds wonderful.

Own one. Love it - great video. Don't pass on Audioscape gear....
It is great! I have a video coming out soon about the Opto.
Cannot wait for mine to come.
Enjoy it! What kind of music are you working on?
got the v comp + cuz of this. sounds amazing
That is awesome! Enjoy it! It's amazing!
Really interesting! How does this compare to tracking with a 76 type compressor?
Good question! it's a very different type of compression. I think you can punish a source with a sta level and it just sounds better and better no matter how hard you hit it.
Why does the audio cut out at the end of the vocal? Sounds like maybe a bad take
who's the vocalist at the end? siiick voice
✊🏻 thanks buddy
Damn got that v_comp going 🔥🔥🔥⛽📊
Its pretty sick!
great demo!
Thank you for watching!
Silky smoothhhhhh 🤤
Amazing vocalist in that last demo! Which song is that from?
That is the band Kiss Kiss Bang, the song is called Easy to Love.
I just seen this comment. Thanks a bunch. It’s all Matt making us sound even halfway good. ❤
Is this mono or stereo?
Awesome Matt, I like it !!!!
Thanks!!
I wish you would have bypassed the vocal section so we could hear in and out and the difference! But thanks anyway!
nice video! Greetings from argentina
Thanks for watching
Maybe I am going mad but when you pushed it I heard a lot of harmonic distortion
No, I think you are completely sane! This is the best thing about this comp!

Thats a good tip. I am getting ready to film a review on the Audioscape Opto, I will keep this in mind!
So how does it sound on your projects?
I was wating to get a unerversal audio 1176 for vocals. Should i get the ua1176 or audioscape 76 D?
Everything in this video is a project I recorded.
@@Matt_McQueen so do you put it with high quality sound you get from it. Your opinion?
Nice, but Im into 500 series nowadays.
Audiences aren't paying for recorded music like they once did. So they do not deserve expensive outboard gear!

@@Matt_McQueen I understand.
That sounds like a McDonalds mentality put towards music. Yuck...
