- Well, it was time to upgrade my airbnb and I decided at staying at one of the finest hotels in Chennai, Leela Palace.
Now I am getting towards the end of my journeys for this India trip so I decided to go ahead and go big!!! I got a $400 dollar room, but luckily I booked it with my AMEX card and I was able to upgrade two more levels to this beautiful sea view room.
This room was equipped with so many cool and fun features, but I think the bathroom had to be the best features of the room. Well besides what also seemed like an endless array of cookies being brought to my room.
After checking into the room, I actually upgraded to the "Royal Program" if I remember the name correctly and it was about Rs7000 extra each day, but this gave me access to many more things like tea time, cocktail hour, and a ride in a BMW to the airport.
So this was one of the best tea times I have been to. With a bakery on location, the difference and excellent breads had me wanting to come back for this tea time, time and time again.
Of course I came back for some drinks and to continue hanging out with the staff. This was some of the youngest and coolest staff I have had in a hotel yet and I enjoyed learning about each and every one of them and their home towns, languages and cultures.
With a lot of fine dining on site, I was recommended to go to Jamavar so I gave it a shot. This multiple course menu was fun but the highlights had to be the daal makhni!!!

Max is not the only one. He is in a new country . New to street as well as expensive food
While everyone was eating with knives and forks, Max was the only to eat all that with hands. This explains how much more westerners love our culture and tradition than compared to us who think it's filthy to eat with hands. Max, really appreciate how well you have portrayed India. Much love🙏🙏

@@VP-qg4uy somewhat you are right that he is doing his job but that doesn't mean he is faking everything it's not like eating with hands is a taboo for westerners and they had to do it just for show and he seems like a genuine person who is not faking things like in a corporation Infact living his life with fun..
Personally somethings make sense to eat with hands. Some other things, fork, knife would be better. You wouldn't see anyone eating BBQ with a fork, knife?
Luckily Max doesn't represent Westerners in general.
The fact that he eats with his hands like on the street disrespects the fancy restaurant. Just because it's Indian food doesn't mean you have to eat with it at all costs!
Forks and knives are useful and are there for that.
But Max does what he wants if he likes his food better like that. I'm French in a stuffy place like this I would have eaten with a fork and a knife out of respect for the chef.
@I Claudius I ate on the street when I was in India in June in New Dehli, Pushar, Jaipur...(you can see my little vlogs on my youtube channel) we don't have much choice most of the time we eat with fingers or a spoon. I was talking about doing it in a classy restaurant but that's nothing.

It's not overpriced. When You see the value , the prices are as per justified. I hope you understand their brand value .
@@mindrentedkota2531 I meant in general, like when he goes to the local markets or while getting an auto. And as far as luxury hotels are considered, of course it's the brand value, and maintenance and attention to finer details.

India is so huge ((in terms of culture)) that you need 5 trips minimum (of 1-2 months) to experience half of it!

That spoon of halwa, even before you took a bite, I knew it would feel like heaven. There is nothing like a mix of roast semolina + a generous amount of ghee + a few bits of dry fruits - it just blows my mind.

As a Chennai guy I can say that here Tea here is ok-ish not like Varanasi, Lucknow etc.. But we are big in Filter Coffee. The best in India.

Your India vlogs made me travel to India for the first time! And I found myself in Chennai in the Leela palace 2 weeks ago! What a coincidence. Their breakfast buffet will blow your mind
It's such a convenient coincidence that you met Chuba (the waitress from Nagaland) on Dec 1 (or that you uploaded on Dec 1) because December 1 is the statehood day of Nagaland and the beginning of the Hornbill Festival in Nagaland.
If you were to visit Nagaland, the first week of December is the best time to visit. Food, cultural shows, music all on display. Hope you do visit one day regardless.

The staff at this hotel were so exceptionally kind, polite and respectful! I’m sure they work long hours and probably don’t make so much in earnings yet they still go above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience for their guests! Great video Max☺️👌
You’re right, Indian hospitality have different standards as compared to any other country also they are paid really low and the working hours have no limit usually around 12 hours and can be extended with no advance notice.
@@anubhav6200 that is why as a foreigner I like to always tip and reward these honest hard working people. In Canada it is mandatory to tip service staff yet the service is mediocre at its best! Staff are often rude, disrespectful and I’m lucky to even see them smile! Indian hospitality is unmatchable!

@@Busybeeee next time if you actually want to tip the waiter or bell boy etc tip online in their bank a/c. Or maybe raise your voice and ask manager about it, since they can't ask because they can get fired if asked anything, but customer can always ask.

You should visit Nagaland before the 10th of December, there's an ongoing Hornbill festival which takes place from 1st dec-10th Dec every year. Also, the foods are amazing! Iam sure you will love Naga food . Please do visit Nagaland. 🙏

Max I have seen other RUclipsrs like also but they don’t seem interested in coming to Chennai and all they just go to Mumbai or Delhi .. but MAX you are the only one I have seen who has come to Chennai … if possible visit ITC chola hotel also that’s also a really good expensive hotel … enjoy your stay in Chennai MAX 😊

OMG.... when you said there must be cameras... I stayed there many years ago and I swore the eyes in the art work moved...there are spaces in the wall between the rooms where they wait. If I uttered I needed something they were at the door seconds later. 🤣

The wine that you saw is called Sula and is produced in my home town called Nashik, Maharashtra. If you have time do visit Sula vineyards, its amazing place to chill, relax and have some wine .

I've lived in Dimapur as a kid almost 20 years back, which is the biggest city in Nagaland. The state is a mountainous region and is lush green with lots and lots of Bamboo trees, bamboo art and everything bamboo. Nagaland is also home to lots of proud and distinct native tribes. Sadly, Nagaland is not much talked about by most Indians.
Soon will be . Meghalaya and Assam have been on many tourist's list .Arunachal is in its phase and tourism numbers are booming.
Hopefully Nagaland will have its chance soon
