- It’s Sunday FUNDAY plant pals! Today was not a relaxing day for me! I pulled my entire grow tent ventilation system out and got rid of all the yucky buildup that accumulated over the past 6.5 months! It is very important to keep your #InlineFan & #CarbonFilter clean not only for the health of your plants but also to prevent becoming a fire hazard. Cleaning the inline fan and carbon filter isn’t as difficult or time consuming as it sounds. For me the hardest part was taking it down and putting it back up! I’m definitely going to continue cleaning my ventilation system every 6 months to a year to keep the air surrounding my plants as clean as possible and prevent any fire hazards. It is!! But it actually wasn’t to bad for 6.5 months of use! I saw a video on someone cleaning theirs they said after one month and it was nearly triple what came out of mine!
Awesome how you opened up the fan to clean it. The only thing I would change is the last step is dry it with a lint free cloth

Using a vacuum with a small tip hose attachment will get most of the dust instead of brushing onto another surface that will need to be cleaned after also. Then use brushes to get the excess that’s left in conjunction with the vacuum.

The housing is sealed on every duct fan I've ever seen. Can fans for example. You can't take those apart. I'm guessing her fan is very loud and probably not rated for continuous use in a moist/wet environment.

I take my house fans apart like that too🤣. Especially ceiling fans, they get so dusty. I wish Dyson would make ceiling fans, I have a few towers that they make and they are so easy to clean, nothing to take apart to get dusty💕

No I haven’t tried the blow dryer I don’t blow dry my hair much but I’ve always wanted to try the Dyson Air Wrap but my hair is so think i just haven’t been able to bring myself to spend that much on it for the fear it won’t work how I want it to on my hair lol
It’s true it’s not cheap, I received mine as a Christmas gift from my mother in law( aka a shopaholic 😂) another tine another story. It dries so fast it’s crazy. But a lot of times I air dry my air, it’s better for you💚

Just Watched your video tape...for over 20 years I have been using a hoover but that Pre filter/condom looking thing is no good...is that thing sucking air through the filter?

Thanks for watching. What fluff? The white stuff sticking to the carbon filter? This fan did the job as far as keeping air circulation going but I only had it running for at this point I don’t remember maybe 6 months to a year tops and I wasn’t impressed at all. This was my first ventilation system so I was learning as I go but I didn’t think that was suppose to happen. I since got a new fan and filter combo from Mars Hydro and so far it’s way better than the one featured in this video!
You should of cleaned the old grease out of the bearings and packed them with new grease.
At least, once a year.

seemed like a funny way to strip the old fabric filter off. pulling it inside out . if you didnt stretch it out they can go in the washing machine and be reused
It was so tight on there and almost stuck to the metal there was no way I was slipping it off any other way lol I had already order extras to be able to switch out for when I wash them but this one the fabric literally was like sticking to the carbon filter itself I figured I’d just throw it away thinking it wouldn’t be as efficient since so much of the fabric came off of the pre filter onto the carbon filter! Idk if that’s normal? This was my first fan and I just recently got a new one but haven’t had it long enough to have to clean it yet.
Air duster it while it's in your hand and turned on maybe?

Can the filter become blocked??
I haven’t experienced this and I’d think it would take a really long time for that much buildup to occur but I guess if you never cleaned it it’s a possibility but again it would most likely take a super long time.

Burn outs, dust all over the place, no vacuum, no mask
The point of the video was to show how to clean the fan not perfect it. But for anyone who has allergies or is bothered by dust a mask is definitely the way to go. Also it was relatively easy to keep all the dust and build up on the table and I didn’t need a vacuum to clean my fan but of course there’s no one or right way to clean something. A vacuum or broom and dust pan is obviously required for clean up afterwards but the focus of the video was to show how I clean my fan. Thanks for watching!

The buildup? I don’t know exactly what it is but it’s just normal buildup from filtering the air and odor and humidity.

I fit fabricate and fit ventilation and i wounldnt use water and definitely dont use any detergent soap its a degreaser and will fuck your bearings up squeak squeak

As long as it pretty dry a slightly damp wipe down wont hurt the bearing as long as they don't get water in them.
You should be cleaning the old grease out of it (Since, it's already opened.) and packing it with new grease (Especially, after a year of relatively constant use.).

@@NailzByA Those bearings are sealed you'd need a puller to get them off & replace the whole bearing.

I'm pondering making wallpaper prints with semitransparent glaze coats and green and green-yellow pigments with a sponge and leaf shapes. Layers and textures.
Also I have seen camouflage netting that has lighter greens happy color hues. It's see through. I'm going to buy some to see how it looks over the window during daytime. Hopefully it will have a similar vibe as looking up through the trees in the forest.
