  • A really quick look at how the Vivosun 390cfm 6 inch inline fan strips down for cleaning and or repair. Along with that I have included a couple quick sections showing how loud the fan may be in operation both on its own and combined with a carbon filter and ducting.
Its a very simple teardown but there are a couple tips that knowing beforehand will make the job easier.

The inlet shroud is removed by turning anti-clockwise to remove and clockwise to replace, it will click into place. The exhaust shroud turns the opposite way, i.e. turn clockwise to remove and anti-clockwise to replace. An close inspection will see why this is, as one of the slots for the tabs has a stop on it.

Super helpful video because mine had the plastic on the front of the fan break off and get jammed in the fan somewhere. Thank you

The 6” fan I received is very loud. Like 85db instead of stated 34db

get insulated ducting the kind in a insulated cover and add some turns in the duct like a snake the air bouncing off the corners lowers the jet engine sound ducting mufflers are also available that help a lot like a muffler for your car very simple technology its the same as insulated ducting

the 4 inch you have to twist the casing it separates down the middle its similar to a twist off cap

Mine won’t twist off. Even using a screwdriver, prying it, throwing it, it wont come off. I feel like its gonna break, plastic is already cracking where ive attempted to pry it.

@@Kevin-co7dr odd mine separated on its own that's how I realized how it worked lol in the middle theres a wide thread similar to a pop bottle but wider and if the pressure is right on each side not too much push or pull it twists one side clock wise the other counter clockwise it comes apart the guts and blades in one half a shell in the other
