Just got a 2022 model in plain colour used for about half price from an Irish fellow heading back to Ireland from working in Toronto. Nice hard case with it. I have an LL16 and wanted a LS16 but impossible to find right now anywhere in Canada. I put a bone saddle and ebony pins in my LS6, lowered the action to around 2.3mm at 12th and use D’Addario XS PB 12-54s. A wonderful sounding and playing guitar. Made for quieter playing and really shines strummed lightly or finger picking and with the 44mm nut, more space to not flub that D chord pull off…lol…love your reviews and keep on rocking. You are my go to guy on acoustic guitars !! I am currently looking for an FGX5 and FSX3 but impossible to get at moment.

Finally got an FG5. Amazing dred. I found the 80/20s sound better to me than the PBs (D’Addario XS I use).

I love your reviews man. I'm gonna try one of these in the next few days. I'm looking for my first smaller body guitar (I have owned 4 dreadnaughts already). I hope I like it 😊

This sunburst color is growing on me. They don't look very good with mahogany back and sides but with rosewood, it's another story.

I Have a Yamaha guitar LL-6JS made 1998 (SN:OP - 340)bought it from Japan in used store :D, , and that series is similar with LS6, color and finishing, but i think my old guitar is not use A.R.E. technology.

A.R.E is artificial aging technology . And your guitar is aged so I don't think the difference will be huge

Hi Jarvis- If I understand A.R.E correctly, the technology's purpose is to age the wood so that it carries the sound of an older "worn in" guitar. When you played the guitar could you recognize this? Or did it basically sound the same as what you would normally expect and get with any new guitar? As far as the tuners, what didn't you like about them? Not holding tune? Just curious as I'm thinking about purchasing one which has been offered at a great price. Thank you!

the tuners are not that smooth or accurate...guess i'm too used to the good stuff gotor 510 tuners.

I have one of these. The LS6 ARE in neutral color. For the price with bag it is a great buy. I currently like the Bronze 80/20's on it because I am a light fingerpicker but I know the PB's bring out the warmth as well.
Just a question. I have been trying to find the bone saddle to replace the plastic stock one. I know it is 75x3x10 with a compensated B string but I can't find any. Can you tell me where I could get one? Thanks.

Is it truly 1 3/4 nut width?

I think so. The L series seem to be the only Yamaha acoustic guitars with slightly wider nut width.
I wanted to buy a cheaper Yamaha with 1 3/4 inch nut but it looks like L series is the only one
