I picked up a FS-800 for $150...WOW Loud, clear, super resonate, Superb craftsmanship and wood selection! I have a Custom Martin OM 28...this Yamaha guitar sounds louder, not as complex but close! What a deal!
There is probably a label on it saying: The instrument may start to develop roots and sprout leaves. Please contact local nursery for advice on pruning.
@@jimgriggs2184 could someone give me some specifics on the 830. I'm about to purchase one. I chose it over a Epiphone Hummingbird because I want a rich sound instead of bright high end.
I played the fs850 and really enjoyed it. If i'm correct the FS are smaller models of the FG models. I'd think there would be a difference in sound considering the size but would any body with experience with both sizes recommend one over the other when it comes to sound and playability.
I bought my FG 375s ii 30 years ago and it's still in tune...Want a new guitar but can't find one with as good tone. Maybe the store conditions I don't know.
Yesterday I bought the same Yamaha FG830 I owned. It was from the shop I traded it for a Martin Dreadnought. Saw it still sitting there, and plunked down the cash for it. It's gonna be my "beater" guitar. Not really I never beat my guitars! Or allow anyone else to beat a guitar of mine. I might've even bought an FG850. Because the Martin Dread is mohogany. Sp now that I've bought the 850 I have both a spruce (Alaskan i.e.) and a mohogany guitar. Does buying the same guitar over again make me Anal Retentive?
Hello guys. Actually torn between the FG830 and the FS830. Seen the differences between the two, but at the moment I can´t try them in person. I´m having trouble deciding. What can you tell me to help me make up my mind?
Unless you really like the smaller size, you'd get more miles with a FG. If you amplify, then the FS makes more sense since it's more compact. But remember that they are all fairly deep guitars.

I kind of feel the same between my Martin's and "cheap" Yamaha's.
How about the string spacing?
Yamaha FG are really good and affordable guitars.
Dennis Karlsson I
all those beautiful guitars and cant find any at any music store here..
"Solid mahogany top, mahogany back and sides, we've got mahogany binding -- and, of course, mahogany strings".
Mick Kennedy and don't forget about the mahogany pick guard, tuners, strap button, nut, and saddle! ;))))
And mahogany neck & frets -- made from non-mahogany mahogany
For all our mahagony needs
And mahogony fingers

For $299, the FG 830 cannot be beat.

Love mine.

please made video comparison yamaha FG830 & Yamaha FS850
Really wanna give the fs850 a try. Looks amazing
I like how they say the name of the wood, but they don’t mention it’s laminate on the back of the sides. You don’t need to know that.

Hello Shai. Would you consider the FS range to be some kind of a "lesser child" of the FG´s series? I´m having trouble deciding between the two...tx
What is the model of the WAHAHA cut away with the rosewood back and side under the black one?
I hear a lot of rumors about the string spacing of th FS series wich makes it not suited for fingerpicking?
Great job at Yamaha this season, congrats !
Are they good for Rock, and blues?

Rui Carmo its all about the size and volume. Fg830 has more sound than the fs830.
