    I got this to work, but only have holding BOTH the down volume AND the power button together for EIGHT slow counts. Not the three they say here. For anyone on their 1000th time of doing this and it's still not working.

      This did the trick, 8 seconds, got to DFU immediatly, iPhone 12 Pro Max screen is completely black but recognized in iTunes as an iPhone in DFU mode (not the same as recovery mode). I was on iOS 16.1 (After a few try I tought maybe iOS 16 blocked that feature lol)

    Keep at it friends. Took me about 20 times to put in DFU mode. I had to hold around 6 seconds to get it to work.

    I followed the sequence, the phone went to black screen and after holding down the down button for about 10 seconds the Apple icon appeared on my 12 Max Pro and nothing had changed ( I did not go into recovery mode) .I have now done this 3 times and same result) I am positive that I followed all the steps, any thoughts?

      Its because they give you the wrong timing to get into DFU mode. There is a much better video on youtube and it worked 1st time. Try 5 seconds instead of 3 seconds and it will work 1st time.

      another way is to turn on your iphone off and at the same time hold the power and valume down, if the apple logo shows keep holding down do not let go after 10 to 15 sec you will see the dfu icon.

    Hey David got a question for you
    I have a old apple account on my iPad here and has been signed out for about one year and I’ve already forgot the phone number of it
    Every times whenever I reconnect the internet after twenty four hours my iPad would asks me for signing into that account even though I get an account in charge for using and I tried update all applications turned off and on screen times changed passcode update iPad version and signed out and in of my apple ID just literally everything I can do because I don’t have the phone number if that old account so I cannot sign into it or recover it
    Then I gave up and signed out of all account from anything and whenever I connect to the internet it will still asking me for signing into iCloud of that old account
    I just don’t know what to do
    Just why what can I do
    Oh God please help me this is the worst

      Don't need lighting port on your computer. You do need a lighting to usb cable to plug the lightning cable into your iphone and the usb end into your computer.

    Am I insane? I DFU this model by:
    plug into PC with itunes
    volume up
    Volume down
    Hold side button alone for 20 seconds...
    Screen with arrow pops up. Unplug iphone, plug back into itunes PC and restore
    enough people have commented the video trick doesn't work that it makes me think it might be wrong?

    wtf is side buttom

  • @vampir335
    @vampir335 2 года назад +1

    it doest work because step 2 is wrong. after you do step one, you CONTINUE holding the side button UNTIL the apple logo goes away into the USB cable to PC logo! only then will itunes detect a phone is connected to the pc, you have to hold that side button for a while longer WITHOUT volume down.

      @@maddierami Are you still trying to figure this out? I was having the same problem, and I was able to fix it by plugging it into my computer, pressing the volume up button, pressing the volume down button, then pressing and holding the lock button (side button). The screen should go black, then the apple logo should come back on, then a bit after that your iPhone should give you a prompt to plug it into a computer, and if you're already plugged in it should come up in Finder/iTunes. I believe this is putting the phone into recovery mode instead of DFU mode, but ended up fixing the problem on my end regardless. Hope this helped!

  • @jimplayz9246
    @jimplayz9246 Год назад

    I FOUND THE FIX . You need to inspect itunes or finder all the time . ok so volume up then volume down then side button after screen turns black u MUSNT RELEASE the side button , you have to watch carefully when the iphone is disconnected from the pc / mac , when that happens press volume down along with the side button count exactly 5 seconds and then release side button and boom you are into DFU MODE.
