I loved this show so much because not only was it action packed and never boring but it also had such an emotional side to all the characters that I loved so much.
Ragnar wasn't perfect. He knew it. It was everyone around him that made him out to be a god. And so when he failed or fucked up, they were all so dissapointed in him. When Arne or Thorstein were sleeping around with women and getting drunk it was seen as goofy or Viking-like. When Ragnar did it he was in the wrong. He was just a man and it broke him hard when lagertha and Bjorn walked out on him. He was never happy with auslag. The only happiness he had was from his 4 sons. He wasn't even happy being king.
When the father cheated on a fine Wife, Mother, & shield Maiden like Lagertha with Auslag who screwed around & wouldn't pick up a sword to save her life - Ragnar lost.

I know my son would choose me if he had to. I think most sons feel they need to protect their mothers in one way or another if their father is not around. Ironically Bjorn ended up becoming the husband and father he accused Ragnar of being even though he wasn’t like that at all!
I Loved the acting of Ragnar there's not many at all that could be so genuine and in the feeling and personality of a role as him. Respectfully a badass top ten of all time role execution.
I always loved the kind of relationship between Ragnar and Björn. It was always intense and a relationship between Father and Son should be in my opinion. Ragnar always wanted for Björn to be a real man who took care of himself, his family and take responsibility for his actions. I've watched the show more than 6 times and I just don't get enough. After a while the characters become a part of your own family and you start to feel for them. That show is a truly masterpiece.
Ragnar didn't try to take bjorn from his mother, Torbjorn tried to talk bjorn to stay with his father not Ragnar. He was not even there when lagertha left ,he and bjorn came after her and Ragnar didn't even try to stop bjorn because he knew bjorn needed his mother more than his father.

What was there to be said though? Ragnar would never listen again after that. It took about 4 years to even hear Rollo out after his first betrayal, and it took Rollo saving Ragnar's family from an invasion to forgive him. That first betrayal was nothing in comparison to what he did afterwards.
Vikings was a really good show to me in my opinion its one of the most realistic historical Viking show iv every watched and best music it fits right in it was excellent and actors did really well alot of them do look somewhat look like Vikings of Germanic/nordic descent I could never forget the the 5 seasons of this show Vikings

Seriously, that's 100% not what happened. Ragnar never even attempted to do that. Bjorn told Lagertha he'd stay, then told Ragnar that she was leaving, and only then changed his mind and went with her. Ragnar didn't try to convince him to stay, and didn't force anything, he let Bjorn go with her.
It's insane my eldest son I haven't seen in years because of his mother keeping him from me from the age of five add to the age of 25 he said the exact same thing to me my reply was identical I didn't leave your mother I didn't leave you my son you both left me and in that moment I didn't feel pain or sorrow in that short moment all I felt was a searing hatred a feeling that is indescribable and thank God like Ragnar I was able to overcome without violence or poisonous words butt deep down in my heart the pain I felt was unbearable like an old scar being teared open again that's the only thing I could feel was hate and anger and when I saw this clip I relate to this man's pain and I know I said the right things and I pray that he understands how much I really love that boy and how much I really loved his mother that I couldn't find it in my heart to separate them after all mother is God in the eyes of a child

Ragnar is an intriguing character who displays different sides depending on who he is with. Among his friends, he embodies a courageous warrior, while around his family, he transforms into a sensitive father, which deeply affects me 😔

It was sad to see that Bjorn also always saw himself as favoured one, I feel like not only did Ragnar hold a grudge because Bjorn left him with Lagertha, but also because he was never willing to go to Wessex with him, also he always had to Reassure Bjorn about how power hungry a King can be, that why Ragnar put his legacy forth to Ivar, because in the end it was Ivar who chose to follow his fathers words, it was Ivar who realised that being king is an illusion of power, when really it's nothing but a title and another addition to your sagas and stories, it was Ivar who after all he had done to Scandinavia in betrayal, realised that it is no good fulfilling your fathers legacy sitting around as a king, living off the fat of the land when really, you're a viking, you're to plunder, you're to not let anyone be above you or control you, hence wise King Harald and Ivar went back to Wessex. It's very poor to see Bjorn full of himself to think he carries his fathers legacy and words when really it was Ivar the whole time!
