@@dillonmartin7411 Bingo! They'll move the goal post as long as it doesn't support Rhaenyra's claim. They avoid saying the real reason they don't support Rhaenyra because they know they'll receive backlash. But their motives have become quite obvious.
Honestly for characters that only has a small amount of screentime last season and this season, the fight between Arryk and Erryk was super impactful and really heartbreaking. When the surviving twin fell on his sword, you felt his pain over what he had done. Really superb work. The actors should be really proud.
Oh my GOD, the pain in his voice as he cries before ending his life was almost too real. That actor had such a good interpretation of that scene. Truly heart wrenching to say the least. I really wish we would had gotten a lot more scenes from them. Sad it had to end so soon for them. I miss Ser Erryk and his undying loyalty for the Queen...and for his brother at the end of the day. 💔😔
Found it interesting that the greens were all talk about revenge for the death of a son but all failed to mention they killed a black son first. The level of entitlement on the green side is really something.
Bro if someone murdered your baby son for something your brother did, you'd still be pretty pissed. They're not gonna go "oh well, what's done is done, it's only fair" If Aemond killed Luke after the whole blood and cheese thing, you think the Blacks wouldn't demand vengeance the same way ?
@@hunterhorsehelmsley7315"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind" - Mahatama Gandhi. I think the show is following the narrative of how the path of revenge is never ending and resembles the path of Justice very closely.
Taupey if they had all been talking about how the blacks took things to far, that they had crossed a line, I would feel different. They didn’t do that though, they acted like they always have, they acted like they have done nothing, they acted like this came out of no where. Killing a child is wrong obviously but when you are the one who started the cycle of revenge you need to place a little bit of the blame on your self.
The greens never taught Aegon how to rule, and they wonder why he acts the way he does. Alicents children hate her and each other. Rheanera family all love and support each other.
Tom glynn Carney carried this episode incredible performance as aegon his gief was heartbreaking he gave the full spectrum anger ,disdain psycho so much more you could feel the pain ,and loss of his son jachaerys.
Honestly I thought a lot of it was comedic. Him screaming about "I declare war!" after he'd already stolen his sister's crown and one of her children was murdered for his benefit, made me laugh. He'd already declared war by accepting that crown on his head in the first place, it just didn't feel real to him yet because none of that danger had hit close to home. Yet. And... well... he fucked around and he found out (unfortunately so did poor Jaehaerys)
im team neutral but Tom acting as Aegon this episode blown my mind. The tragic these character suffer and the pain was all there. But the worst mother award goes to Alicent. She couldnt even comfort her own son. Sitting next to him letting him know shes there would be fine dont need to hug or anything but she walks off and later screw around with certain someone and she knows her daughter doesnt like the public nor stranger and yet tells her to parade around the city with her dead son. Her middle child went to see comfort in a madam in the brothel who SA him when he was 13 to get some mother love. she screwed up her whole damn family for sure. Daeron probably is normal if he grew up away from her.
She definitely wasn’t the best mom - but she was a child giving birth to children in a society with no concept of postpartum depression. She never got to figure out what it was to be a person, and so when things happened she never knew how to respond. She must have always looked to others for how to respond for her.
Great episode all around but the Twins dying destroyed me, going to close ups and you see the pain on their faces as they are killing each other, fuuuuuuck, well played HBO.
The Arryk vs Erryk fight was the highlight, so intense and superbly acted! I liked that it was a direct consequence of Rhaenyra's (seemingly unwise) choice to honour her family's word. Otto, with his political ambitions, seems to be the main catalyst for this civil war, from the moment he sent his 15-year old daughter in her mother's dress to 'console' the grieving Viserys, and undermining Rhaenyra any chance he got. It was rather satisfying to watch his plans unravel when he realised Aegon was too volatile to control like he'd planned. And the scene with Alicent afterwards, where she insists that she could get Aegon under control once he cools down, highlights that Otto moulded Alicent into a version of himself. She even preferred 'slapping' Ser Cristen to consoling either of her traumatised children (but then, who wouldn't when Fabien is so easy on the eyes?). Quite the contrast to Rhaenyra's scenes with her children.
might be in the minority here but I'm not enjoy how fast they try to rush things. There are so many characters and by trying to show them all in each episode they don't let them actually breathe. As if rushing into action will make the story better. Fighting scenes mean nothing if the emotional cause and ties aren't well built and established

5:50 I dont think because he is a "man" he can do whatever he wants, thats his demeanor and character trait lol that specific theory is debunked in this very episode. Ryaenyra is the "Queen", there is a very big difference in how one can act publicly and privately when you are part of the royal family let alone the individual who represents it and leads it. that is the whole point of this episode, it shows that both sides are in the wrong now and whatever reasons they have for wanting the throne have gone out the window.. they are perceived by the people as "two bad choices" i.e it will lead to the imminent conflict to decide who rules
Liked the propaganda in this episode because Otto was right if they’d done things his way it would have worked. However the guy the all the greens wanted to be king messed it up royally. Also when the great houses here about the twin thing there going to be right back to questioning which side to follow. The greens want so badly to win but they outright ignore what kid of king there guy would be.
How long should they make this series? Because unlike The Game of Thrones which had more wriggle rooms for the script writers to be creative(because Ice & Fire books are still being written). The story behind House of the Dragon is already set in stone. So far, the first two episodes of season 2 are like dragging 20 to 30 minutes stories to over an hour. I think you're thinking of the Night's Watch vows. Kingsguard appear to vow to not have a wife, children, or own lands but they can hold titles. In the regular series, Jaime Lannister is suggested to be named Warden of the East and Hand of the King at various points (although everyone immediately starts talking about how much he'd suck at both), Arthur Dayne held the title Sword of the Morning (albeit who knows how official of a title that actually was), and Aemon the Dragonknight was a prince (which I think counts?) so as long as it's not a title that comes along with land ownership (which the vast majority do), it appears to be okay.
Someone please shut up that woman...Daemon does what he wants because of his personality he couldn't care less about other people not because he is a man.
