- In this initial impression and unboxing, we take a look at what I feel may be the best-cooked dog food available. It rivals the quality and ingredients that I have only seen amongst those that DIY their dog's food. In fact, the ingredients made be better than your own food! This is superior to human-grade dog food. Evermore truly stands apart to all others whether it be Ollie, Pet Plate, Nom Nom, or The Farmers Dog. They are the only cooked dog food company that offers grass-fed/pasture-raised or free-range animal proteins across all their recipes. This is not only more ethical but also superior in regards to nutrients of the proteins offering lower fat, higher values of Omega's 3, and overall a better nutrient profile. Taking it even further Evermore offers an outstanding ingredient mix that is choke full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and foods that offer quality supplementation and support for your dog's overall health. The base recipe is also designed for rotation which is awesome! They utilize organic produce which also is unique in cooked dog foods. Last but not least Evermore does not utilize any synthetic preservatives or vitamin mixes, this is a big one as it shows their commitment to offering a fully balanced recipe needs to occur solely through the use of ingredients in the recipe.

Glad it was helpful! Stay safe and stay healthy! Have a great weekend.
Good video.. Can you do a review on Smallbatch dog food?
Thanks
I love small batch and do have some content planned. I know they recently launched cooked dog food but it is limited to certain stores. Thankfully I am in CA so should be able to access them. Stay tuned.
@@ExperiencesWithMyDog I use there lightly cooked formula.. My dog loves it and does great on it... Looking forward to the planned video.. Thanks
It would cost me $400 a month to feed my dog this food. I am sure they could make it a little more cost effective!
It is challenging when you look at the quality of the ingredients which even by "human grade standards are about the best I have seen in any cooked dog food". I will say the "amount" generally recommend is more than most dogs needs especially considering the activity levels of most dogs. In many situations you can "feed" considerably less but this is of course a personal decision you have to make. I will say that if looking purely at cost relative to quality protein i still think premixed commercially available raw is the best option.
An example would be Tuckers Raw which is a great option and is nationally available pre packaged option. Otherwise an alternative would be DIY or using a base like those from Sojo's, Granma Lucys and adding in your own protein ( which is not a bad option ).
No dog food brand should be fed exclusively to any dog in my opinion. You should feed variety. I can't afford to feed EverMore for every meal but the ingredients and nutrition are superior to all other cooked, fresh then frozen commercial dog foods. All of the meat components are grass fed and finished including the organ meats, they are gently cooked so that the nutrition is preserved and all the meals are low glycemic. To compare to Farmer's Dog, for example: Farmer's Dog has a very high glycemic value because they have a high percentage of rice or other grain (in fact, their dry value stated levels of macronutrient percentages (protein, fat, carb) is exaggerated in the protein. I say this because my math comes out lower on a dry matter calculation). Farmer's Dog is just some braised meat mixed with some veggies, a lot of starch and then a vitamin/mineral pre-mix is added to supply AAFCO standards. The pre-mix is human grade vs. feed grade which is superior but not comparable to EverMore recipes that supply the nutrition with real food. The price goes dramatically up when a commercial food is made with the best ingredients and goes through rigorous batch testing before shipping. When I make my own dog food, I try to source good ingredients like as in EverMore but it is difficult to do and very time consuming. Therefore, I decided to use Evermore as part of my dog's diet to the extent that it is affordable. I get 4 cases (32 pouces/32 pounds every three months on a subscription which gives free shipping and a price of a little over $11/pound. I made room in my budget for this by cancelling Netflix and brewing my own coffee instead of going to Starbucks.
Watched your video and ordered from evermore, very first delivery got damaged and ups repackaged and sent it anyway. I'm so pissed. Now that's happened with Ollie and evermore, it's impossible to get a good delivery source for my dogs
Thanks for the feedback, so to clarify UPS failed to delivery the dog food without issue or shipped it to you and the packaging/container was damaged? Was the food compromised? Was the packaging open?
What is the green stuff you include with their food? I’m assuming the orange is pumpkin?
It is a home made mix similar to green juju - cucumber, green cabbage, broccoli, bone broth, cilantro, chard, coconut oil, wild blueberries, turmeric, black pepper, chia, goats milk ( sometimes given to separate ) , gluscosamine, marshmallow root, cranberry extract.
@@ExperiencesWithMyDog if the dog food comes balanced, how do you know how much or if you should be subsidizing with outside components like your homemade mix?
@@dejavoll That is a very good question - could you answer this Experiences with my dog?
I was feeding my dog the pork farmers dog and unfortunately it kept him with gas issues and potentially even life threatening situations from feeding him it... Obviously all dogs are different though
Anyways trying this evermore in hopes he springs back!
Sorry to hear about your experience, you are correct it can vary and especially if your dogs gut has not adapted it can take a period of weeks even a couple of months to get the gut into a healthy transition state. This can be aided with a quality pre and probiotic mix. It is pretty rare to find a severe true allergy to animal based proteins in dogs but also for some dogs the transition time needs to be extended maybe by a factor of 2 to 4 times longer than the normal period noted on the package.
Best of luck to you and your pup!
