The best word to describe Sunset Riders is charming. This was another one where I had no idea it was originally an Arcade game and grew up playing the Genesis version the most then eventually the SNES version later on. It's a shame the Genesis version was only a 4-Megabit cart with missing characters but despite that it was still entertaining and got the job done albeit on the short side like Contra on the NES. The SNES was a big improvement over the Genesis port but neither of them can compare to the Arcade. I will sometimes fire up the Arcade version just to sit there in awe at the introduction watching it over and over and over again with a big goofy smile on my face. I don't know what the progress is with the new Genesis/Megadrive homebrew remake but they brought back Steve & Bob as playable characters, brighter colors, and the levels are laid out more akin to the Arcade version including the women with dynamite. If you enjoy this game make sure you check out Mystic Warriors if you already haven't. It's like a spiritual successor to Sunset Riders but takes place in the future and you control a team of 5 ninjas with the same controls except you can melee attack like you can in Metal Slug. Designed by the same team with Konami and everything. 😎

I fricking love Mystic Warriors dude, its on my to do list for sure. And I agree, while the SNES version done a very very good job and all credit to Konami to knocking it out the park, the Arcade version is still king IMO.

@@nomadjock no problem. You have a lot of videos I have to catch up on.
I enjoyed hearing about your personal experience with this game.
That's something you can't get from other overviews.

I am glad you enjoyed the video. For the moment I am only featuring games I owned or played growing up and sharing my memories of a misspent youth as these were truly some happy times for me and hope that these videos bring back some good memories for others as well.
