For a guy who was alive during the Zoom 505, Johnson J Station, and Line 6 Pod Bean era, I have to say kids these days just starting out are pretty damn lucky to have access to so much cool gear at obtainable prices. The entry level amps and multi fx pedals available now blow everything away at comparable prices twenty five years ago.
Oh man! I had a Zoom 505 back in the day and thought it was awesome. I ended up trading it about 10 years ago. Now these pedals are so beyond that old technology its crazy. I still have my Boss stomp boxes though.
All the buttons on the Arena 2000 are blocked by a special option to prevent accidental pressing, you just had to dig deeper, so it’s an excellent device.
You don't need to pull the knobs to remove the plastic covering, just take a pointed scissors and lift the area by a knob and carefully make a small slit near the knob and the plastic will pull away from the knob.
Get a modeller and run thru the power amp in...much more versatility, or 4CM for the boss effects alone, which does make the katana worth it. Question is however, does the katana power amp in flavor the output.
"Most of these multi effect units sounds pretty good" Yeah most of them do, especially when you plug them into nice amps! The difference I have noticed though is that for many of us living in apartments we can not play on amps without getting angry neighbors or even worse getting kicked out. That is when the usb audio interface come into play where most of these effects units you can plug into your computer and play your guitar as loud as you want to your fav music or record what you are playing with programs such as Guitar rig, Amplitube or your Archetype kind of amp sims and effect plugins. Here I can notice a difference in how these external sound cards that comes built in to these units perform. I do not know though, with products like this Donner Arena 2000 or the Line 6 HX STOMP if you can use the actual amps and effects built into these units into the computer to get those great sounds out your headphones to play to your fav music or record them ? I have just used the usb interface to be able to record my guitar with software amps and plugins with programs I mentioned earlier so.
As someone who owns one and had used it recently in a small concert, my one con from me is how small it is. I get it, it's supposed to be small and portable, but man, as a guy who is more on the big size, feet wise, it is a pain when I accidentally step on two of the buttons. Other than that, I love this little thing, it's awesome for replicating some warped tour tones, like, this thing is amazing for metalcore and hardcore tones, in my opinion. Other than that, loved the video Taylor!
That film thing is the same with the scratch plates on their guitars and I was *not* comfortable removing those knobs without doing damage they were on that tight. Got there but not without a lot of stress of damaging my stepdaughter's first electric guitar before she even got to hold it!
Just got one of their teles this week and the control plate is like that. But it appears the film goes under the plate a bit, so I'm gonna have to unscrew the plate and lift it out to get it all off and looking clean.
I'd be worried about the wiring system in them , I'm sure a lot only last a few months before failing . What's that on the end of the guitar nut ? I'm getting a guitar soon with a floyd rose and I'm not keen on putting a string bar on it. So I'll maybe put what you have at the locking nut area
Thanks for the video. So, another floor multi-treader. Isn't that enough already? I don't understand or am I too old for this? Are there no reasonable and affordable rack processors anymore? I have a GT PRO, Eleven Rack, POD HD PRO and some old Rocktron, Boss and Roland parts. Are there only the expensive Kemper Helix and Ax FX left? Is there no manufacturer who dares to build a rack processor in the 500 € class? Maybe with an optional floorboard? That would be something else where I would make money loose. Cheers.
Awesome demo, Taylor. 😎🎸🤘🏻 The sound quality on the donner arena 2000 sounds pretty killer. It reminds of the mooer ge200.
