Thanks. I hate posting stuff like this honestly, I end up getting a bunch of “well actually” comments and I’m not trying to debate this topic.. But I’m glad that most people seem to appreciate what I’m trying to do here. 💪
I was going to subscribe just for the great review. But the ending solidified it. I can more than appreciate a dude who is completely honest! Keep up the great work!
I applaud you for doing what these big organizations won’t. It’s also a sad day when I get more truthful news from a guitar guy on RUclips than I will from actual journalists.
In fairness, all the information I got was from actual journalists. I linked the articles I cited if you want to read further, but it was never my intention to try to inform people or get on a soapbox. I just wanted to state my case on why I felt it was unethical. Other guitar youtubers obviously don't feel the same, and that's OK. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
New guitars basically never stay in tune, because the new strings are still settling, so we can basically dismiss that issue. If you have to, you can also just lock down the bridge. Back when I was a kid, I got my first Charvelle, and I signed up for lessons at a local guitar shop. My teacher taught me how to stretch out the strings and tune my guitar, and the techs at the shop worked on the action and got it up and running. Thus, being perfect from the factory also isn't an issue (just ask Gibson!). If a parent has a kid that doesn't always follow through with things, but the kid is begging for a guitar, this makes total sense. I see some comments on here calling this a "false economy" and I couldn't disagree more. As if feeling a new hobby out with minimal investment is somehow dimwitted. As if when someone decides to keep going with this hobby, and they do actually decide to upgrade parts over time to make their guitar better, the student won't have a deeper connection with a guitar they modded themselves. You'd think all these nay-sayers worked for big guitar companies. These geniuses must buy Ferraris for their children when they're learning how to drive too.
They sell shit cheap because they steal your information and sell it. They’ve been shutdown before, by the Chinese government no less. Then they re-opened and rebranded. They are actually dealing in information like a media company as opposed to a traditional e-tailer.
@@chuckfinley5206You’re missing the point. They are a Chinese company that is effectively selling items dirt cheap because they collect and sell personal information. Specifically, like Tik Tok, they must share all data, at any time, with the Chinese Government. People may not think that this is a big deal but information warfare will be the next big front in warfare. The amount of information including location data, specifically at U.S. Military installations, is a great threat. If you enjoy your way of life, I’d suggest just going through Amazon. They may compile data but they don’t sell it to the Chinese.

That's kinda been my general experience with cheap guitars and pedals. Never expect much but some of those really cheap pedals are amazingly far better than you would think
With electric guitars it's all in the pickup, electronics, and distance to the strings. The guitar itself really doesn't do anything but keep the strings in tension.
Before Temu this guitar was actually sold as a counterfeit Ibanez RG model. The markings looked legit too except they'll come off when scratched. They are marked as made in Indonesia and their serial numbers are from Ibanez Gio models and not RG. I bought mine for 160 USD in 2012. I even performed on stage with it. It had so many issues like the fretboards sunk in. The floyd rose was fake and it spelled "floyd rosd" on the tremolo. I destroyed it in 2021 after finding it while visiting my parent's home.
I bought an SX superstrat guitar 10 years ago (maybe more). Which has the same body and pickup config. The only difference is the headstock. It was my first and only guitar until i got a Squire yesterday. It served my teenage self very well to be honest
The mini universe is a great pedal (well if you like that sort of thing), I have one, from Ebay, and would like another to run in stereo. That said I believe the QC on these pedals is not 'top drawer' and some can be noisy. Amazingly you can use it, apparently, as an audio interface with your recorder of choice via the usb c socket, you can also power it through the usb c but again that tends to increase the background noise level.

Thanks for informing and letting people judge for themselves and staying transparent. It's unexpected to hear such things from a channel as you but now quite gratified about your opinions. Huge props and respecc to you.
Thanks. I hate posting stuff like this honestly, I end up getting a bunch of “well actually” comments and I’m not trying to debate this topic.. But I’m glad that most people seem to appreciate what I’m trying to do here. 💪
It isn't that bad in Xinjiang...
Glad you continue to be very honest in your reviews and inform others of what they could be buying into. Please keep up the great work!
I wanna see you upgrade that guitar! Turn a borderline chunk of junk into a monster player! 🤘
Yes that would be a sick video!
@@nothinwatever Time for the Hello Kitty paintjob
I was going to subscribe just for the great review. But the ending solidified it. I can more than appreciate a dude who is completely honest! Keep up the great work!
Probably from the same factory as Ibanez GIO guitars.
At first sight I believed it was a GRG170!
@@Igorator42 yeah! Exactly :D
They're made in labor camps by little kids. Look deep into Temu. It's sick.
My mom got me a switch off of Temu. Its the best thing we got this christmas.
I don't want to give my money to temu.
No temu or tik tok for this guy.
Appreciate the honesty, subbed.

Just get a harley benton 😭
The most valuable part of this video starts at 10:22. I applaud your morals, Taylor.
Thank you for having an ethical approach to who you do business with.
I think They put it in the bag so it doesn't break because some stuff are fragile.?
I always thought temu was fake
I think in legal terms, they believe they are fake as well.
Temu is a scam.
Innocents until proven guilty?
Google got in trouble in the past for it. But you us youtube 😂
I get stuff from them all the time. You just have to know how to shop and what to buy. And so much is on Amazon also. Same exact stuff.
I've gotten many things from them. Everything arrived in perfect condition. Either I got lucky or you're a liar about their products
I think its a good mod platform if its close out the box. Wish. C . For 64$ .i sanded the neck thinner, scribed out the square neck fot to match the round countour of the body heel. I potted the pickups. Now its down to a mexian fender bridge( its got that smaller metric trem) or possibly copy floyd next. Oh i routed more room fir the block to not bottom. I really like 6 screws not two posts
Lmao not the Xinjiang thing again... That thing is getting boring.
Never heard of it.
I don't think a lot of people have. I certainly hadn't.
Oldest fake new in the book...
@@TaylorDanley American media have been talking about Xinjiang for a while now. The situation is way more relaxed in reality.
Regarding privacy, anything from meta is way way worse, but you won't see people complaining about it because it was created in the West and west good, east bad 😕

Awesome job on the transparency! Respect
Hey, i was rooting for you liking the reverb pedal haha, here in Brazil, MVAVE is kinda "well known" as they make a cheap amp sim and effects processor called Cubebaby, which is pretty good for the R$170 (+- $35)
It was very nice! Pleasantly surprised.
Cool video man. Best wishes with your channel
Massive respect to you brother for staying true to yourself and not selling your morals.
You get an easy follow for great content and high integrity! Thanks for the video
First time watching one of your videos but you’ve got yourself a sub! Really appreciate the info on Temu - I don’t think they have quite the reach here in the UK but I’ve seen other RUclipsrs do content on their products and they always seem sketchy as hell. Looking forward to checking out your other vids!
Thanks for sharing this information. Great video!
Nice amps!! I'm surprised you don't have Splawn Amp. Good review 👍
Amazon's lobbyists are working hard to stop temu lol before temu there was amazon walmart and so on working with Chinese cheap factories now they're afraid of compitation.
Thanks a lot for the heads up about Temu. There seems to be a lot of problems with mysterious charges and no deliveries. I`m going to avoid them.
R and T are next to each other on the keyboard, the sticker is a typo of START your enjoyment. Edit also. nice presentation, good script reasonable and valid concerns and responses, subbed! (ps i randomly clicked on this)
I wonder if you had taken the plastic off the top of the pickups if it would have sounded a little clearer?
I've twice tried to post a thoughtful response to this issue, trying to view it from both sides and within seconds the post disappears. I'm not sure what is going on.. but it's not a good sign for the future.
ok so would a cow bone nut, basic fret level and setup and a decent set of strings not fix it cause pickup's sound ok and look very nice?
See when I was learning I didn’t care if I had two strings just to strengthen my fangers
This is great! Great message at the end! I however do have a a flanger pedal from temu that is surprisingly fire.
Dude did you go into a Time Machine and become a younger Pepper Keenan (COC/Down)?
I swore at first from the thumbnail thats who you were. LOL
Great video btw
The things i buy the most from Temu are solar lights and outdoor stuff. Havent dealt with any of the stuff you mentioned but will keep an eye out. Other than that. Awesome video. Thanks for the heads up on the guitar. Was actually thinking of getting one from there. 🤣🤣
Thanks for standing up and bringing this to our attention.
I bought an SX superstrat guitar 10 years ago (maybe more). Which has the same body and pickup config. The only difference is the headstock. It was my first and only guitar until i got a Squire yesterday. It served my teenage self very well to be honest
I love seeing that you have a Spider Valve behind you. They were totally underrated amps
love the transparency
Well um... if you peeled the plastic coating from the face of the pickups... Yeah...
I appreciate any kind of Info you have that you feel might be helpful to avoid a potentially Shady situation🙂
I didn't know that about Temu. I've now uninstalled it from my phone
How does a guitar not stay in tune? What causes this issue?
How did TEMU know you made this video if it hadn't been posted yet? Did you reach out to them first?
