Hey Scott! How did you get the Donner Control software to recognize the device? When I plug mine in to my PC it says "Disconnected" in the top right corner of the software. I've tried redownloading and installing, different USB ports, different cables, etc. It all just says "disconnected". I have some IR's that I want to import but can't because the software doesn't recognize that the Arena is plugged in. If you have any suggestions or help to get it connected and working it'd be much appreciated! Thanks!
Absolutely the BEST REVIEW AND EXPLANATION FOR THE DONNER and I have watched at least 5!!!! You are great in taking a complex device and simplifying how to program it!!!!! Donner should use you for instructional videos!!!! LOL!!!! This particular video has sealed my purchase of this pedal!!!!! Many thanks and I subscribed because of you review!!!!!
- I wish they'd add a real harmonizer instead of just a pitch shifter. - Also, those touch buttons would have been better if they were pushbuttons like those on the Boss GT-1. - Lastly, it would be great if they allowed it to be used with AA/AAA batteries. Sometimes, getting power to certain parts of a stage isn't so easy.
The DONNER ARENA 2000 with the DONNER DJP 1000 and the VOX VT 40 X is the absolut perfect Bundle for me and many other Guitarist's....🎸🎙🎼🎵🎶🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵👍🤘❣️❣️❣️
So you can set the expression pedal to be volume pedal in first function when light off, and wah pedal in second function when light is on? Just want to make sure, because going from volume to wah is what I most often would want to use.
I’m watching this video after a year it’s uploaded. Did they fix the foot switch thing? Adding two foot switches just to bank up and down seems pointless indeed. If I could have a drive, chorus, delay/reverb and a tuner assigned to these foot switches it would be so much more useful!
Very cool pedal. Seems similar to the Moore GE100 and Nux MG-30. And similarly priced. Would like to see your thoughts on those. Pickles! But even more interested in the Boss GT-1. Can find them used for $150 or new for $299
So I have one of these and I haven't really seen any area 2000 vs any other modeler videos even though I have looked. Might be something you'd want to do? In your honest opinion is this even in the same ball park with your HX stomp? I've been considering upgrading and I use the midi for doing all my changes so whatever I get has to have that.
Another great video... is the MIDI control similar to the HX Stomp? Send me one... Pickles are good too! I can eat my sandwich with pickles and program it at the same time!🤣🤣
This looks like a good alternative to some of the other inexpensive modelers on the market. I use an HX Stomp and route 2 guitars through it - acoustic guitar through left channel and electric through right channel. Unfortunately this only has one input so I couldn't use it with my main band, however this would be great for my bands and gigs where I only need one type of guitar. And like others I wonder how it would handle bass. Like I said, a good alternative and backup if you're ever in a pickle.
Interesting use with the HX stomp. (I play acoustic as well as electric too) I’ve been using the TC Helicon Play Electric (w/an A/B switch)for a long time. (I can not lose the vocal part!). Very easy for an old guy👍👍 and the sounds are passable. I recently stated using my Spark amp w/ Airstep to control because I think the sounds are better. BUT with the end goal of HX Stomp style box that has way more versatility. (Plus it’s small). The Donner has peaked my interest for sure even though it’s a bit too big for my set up. But the $$ is attractive as well.
clunky? bruh this is the most options you can get for 200 bucks literally has a button and a knob for every interface i dont like touchscreen this multi pedal stomps on everything within its price range all the valentons sonicakes and hottones mooers etc
SUPER AWESOME VIDEO!! WOW!! I was between the NUX cerberu or the Mooer ge250... however this video really brought this one to the game... THanks a ton!!!!
Definitely listen on nicer speakers if you can for tone stuff. But it sounds good for the price. I prefer helix or quad cortex, but they are much more expensive
pickles pickles pickles + FXs the perfect combination!!!! I know this is past the time but oh well... I thought I'd just put it in here ahaha thanks again!!!
Hi Scott, as always you do easy to understand videos for dinosaurs like me who grew up in the 80's when we had to carry HEAVY bass gear. I don't think people who are starting out these days how good they have it. It's a GREAT time to be a musician where you, Scott, have literally gone to a gig with JUST a modeling guitar. Crazy ! This is insanely cheap for what you get in return.
I just received the Donner unit! Might take a bit to get it sussed out for the stage (learning curves 🙄). Seems targeted to electric players and I use a clean acoustic sound for prob half my show. I think I can get there with IR’s (another learning curve!) but I got it for $215 so I’m gonna give it a good shot! Yeah needs more flexibility on extra footswitches.
I’m not sure with this one… it’s been a while since I went through this video, but if it has a pitch shift and can be assigned to the pedal, it should work 👍
I could follow this pretty well even though I’m a bit slow on the uptake. I’ll be looking more closely at the stomp now. I’ve been avoiding it simply so I won’t go broke. I’ve already got a UI16 that I’ll be trying to control guitar sounds with a line 6 fbv express but if I can’t make that work I’ve got a pod coming so we’ll see how that goes. If all else fails; some more line 6 stuff will be in my future. You do terrific work on all of your tutorials and I thank you for the inspiration to try out different things!
I have one I bought a year ago or so. Unfortunately it just has bad distortion options but the cleans are pretty nice. Also a lot of noise from the pedal. It's not grounded properly or something.
@@ScottUhlMusic yeah I told them about it and they were nice enough to refund me partially. But yeah the lift and ground switch made no difference. And it wasn't my cords or guitar because they worked with no noise in any other processor and amp. Still a decent affordable option though.
this looks a lot like the Valeton gp-100 with the smaller form, i've used the valeton gp-200 for about a year or so, and despite it being a "cheaper" pedal, it feels rock soled and sounds good enough
I might be wrong but I don't think you did mention in this video that there's also a drum machine with different styles of drumming in the Donner Arena 2000, so you can practice your guitar playing and the looper (that you mentioned) is a plus for that too.
Hi, Scott. Love your channel, appreciate for your reviews. I have a question and I think only you can help me. I have on electronic drums in my home studio, and I want it connected wireless to my mixing desk. I tried Lekato WS-60 - it's ok, but it has 14ms of delay, and it's very noticable for the drummer. I tried Lekato WS-70, it has superb low latency, but it limits the attack of drums, and it sounds woosh-woosh instead of tich-tich. Can you recomend some budget wireless system that has low latency, and don't have this "limitter" on the input, please. Do you have any experience in such a thing?
Great review! Thank you Scott. Been looking for a good-sounding backup rig for my Kemper. This might just fit the bill. Never know when you gonna need those pickles!
I'd like to check this gear out.. I'm currently lugging around A Princeton Reverb, IEM system, 2 Guitars and A pedalboard the size of a decent piano.. maybe this would help me out.... so now the Pickles...
Just had mine today thanks for the video think i might need to go over this a few times. one question do you loose the original preset if you alter it and store it or does it create a new one , thanks in advance.

@@ScottUhlMusic Nice video! I've narrowed it down between this and the Zoom G6, have you had any experience with the Zoom G6 by chance?
I thought you would use this pedal with the same brand Donner HUSH-I Headless Acoustic Electric Guitar. I would have liked to hear that.
I think the Hush is more meant for silent practice and portability, not as much for with this, but it’s definitely possible!

I get so frustrated that the stomp doesn't have xlr out, and for half the price donner does it AND gives you separate control knobs.
