    And Vegas is not $9.2 MILLION over the cap like that breakdown showed. Vegas is not responsible for Hertl and Hannifan's total salary for the year. They are only responsible for the amount from the trade deadline till the end of the season. It drops it to roughly $4 million. This is being blown WAY OUT of proportion.

      On ice roster if I'm not mistaken is more like $780,000 over, and that could easily be brought under the cap by changing out which skaters are being scratched.

      He wasn’t. He returned late in the regular season, and other players were moved to LTIR to make the cap space needed.

      Nope. Stone was on IR in 2022, but came back late in the regular season (in April, but prior to the playoffs).

      @@Utred2012 he was on LTIR, yet not only did the knights not make the playoffs, but Stone’s cap hit was completely intact since he came back in the regular season. It literally by all definitions of the words youre using, did not happen “3 years in a row” but yeah don’t let any kind of fact get in the way of a good narrative.

    Bruh, Stone came back 9 games before the end of the season in 2022. And they missed the playoffs in 2022.
    BTW, Tampa Bay trying to close that loophole is a myth that's been repeated so much it's become fact. It's still untrue.

LTIR shenanigans aside be honest and stop propagating the lie that Vegas has done this 3 years in a row. 2022 VGK did not make the playoffs AND Mark Stone was activated well before the end of the regular season.     Big Head Hockey is already wrong because hes ignoring Robin Lehner who is never playing an NHL game again. So no, they are actually only over the cap by 4m ($86m), making them only the #6 overspent team. Leafs are #1 at 98m, Bolts are #2 at 93m... Both of them made trade deadline moves with that money, yet both are losing their series.
    So which is it?

      @@FallApartMan The on-ice playoff roster isn't anywhere near $9.2M over, in fact it's actually less than a million over (~$780K or so) when scratches are excluded. It could be easily brought under the cap if needed by changing who is scratched or who the backup goalie is.

    17 of the 32 teams used the LTIR to acquire new players. Vegas was just $750,000. Sportsnet said this is pretty normal citing Toronto as an example that if they dressed Brodie and Nylander they will be $1.7 million over. Vegas just does it better.

    Vegas makes the perfect villain it doesn’t matter what other teams in the playoffs are over the salary cap too. The fact that they are very successful and throw it in your face gets under lots of other unsuccessful teams fans. Just the way they have their over the top pregame performances on their home ice and their owner deep pocket. How they are willing to do anything to win the Cup.

    I am so confused. Tampa introduces a proposal to change the rule, but every team except for Saint louis voted against it. That means tampa voted against their own rule change that they proposed? I wouldn't think that until it was said, only Saint louis fans can complain. You would think tampa would vote for their own proposal.. Unless it was assumed, they voted for it and saint. Louis was the only one that backed them. I don't understand why it didn't say only St. Louis. And tampa fans can complain

Okay, But is the team that introduces it assumed to vote for it, And that's why saint louis was the only team to vote for it? If that is the case why did he say only saint louis fans can't complain? If tampa didn't vote for it why would they not vote For their own proposed rule change?
      I could be over analyzing this or missing something I realize. Just not sure why it's only saint louis fans if tampa was trying to get rid of it as well.

      Yes. There are rules. None of which are being broken by VGK. The owners of the NHL teams voted for this LTIR system. You’ve gotta play the game you’re in. Vegas does it the best. Until they vote to change the rules, you’ve gotta adapt or fail, but don’t pretend anyone is “cheating” 🤷🏻‍♂️
