- Hello RUclips Friends! Thank you for stopping by my channel! In today's video, I will be sharing a vlog style video of what I am working on around the house. I also share some recent marketplace finds and a set of urns from Lowes. I share some paint projects I have started working on and my kitchen all bare and ready to decorate! I'll show you all the things that I don't like about the kitchen and things we want to change. I hope you enjoy spending some time with me around the house. In the next video, we we be doing painting and decorating for Fall! The weather has cooled here and I am LOVING it!

It's all coming along nicely. BTW, here in the Beautiful Blue Ridge mountains in my 85 yr old house...my fourty year old Hummingbird feeder fell from a grapevine "garland" branch on the ceiling of my upper story front balcony a few weeks back. It got rainy and cold and I didn't see any of my Hummer pals...until yesterday...when I was reading and praying and having a cup of tea, during a "quiet time" with the LORD. My little friend got up in my space there on my wicker loveseat and hovered for a loooog pregnant pause...until I whispered, "I'm sorry". She came back a little later, as they do when they think I'm getting a new supply. Repeat performance. I sat still and said, "If I ever get my 26yr old vehicle fixed"..."and if I'm still around...I'll see you and feed you, next year". She refueled on the last of the Butterfly Bush and headed south for warmer climes. Tis' So sweet to Trust in JESUS.
You are like all the rest of us, dreaming and planning about what we can do to the space we have. Doesn’t mean we are ungrateful at all. Something I like about your videos is that you are open and honest. You show us what needs to be repaired and fixed. It’s refreshing to see this. A little tired of the perfect houses already done. If you want to make your porch cleaning way easier, and even cleaning in your home, invest in a Bissell hand held steam cleaner. Costs around $40 , it cleans and sanitizes and you don't have to scrub things down, just wipe off. Perfect for your porch railings, and everything on it. And perfect for kitchens and bathrooms, just makes it so easy and a real back saver too ! Also you can clean your car interior and rims with it. !

Love your CV new chairs - beautiful and perfect for your style! Love the tables, especially the round one! You're so right, the older tables made with all wood are a far better choice where quality is concerned. Ask me how I know, lol.

Love the new chairs and your mirrors and books! The teeth look gold? If they are, it's not unusual to keep them in a safe place and then sell them to a dealer of gold. It used to be done all the time. I would ask a jeweler. True! I love your cabinets and I have seven small cabinets with short uppers and it is a nitemare. I envy all that space. I do love your idea for the switch in the kitchen but I do love all the space you have. Wondering if the patio room was an addition. Your home is beautiful and with the property, a beautiful opportunity with so many options. Love it all! Your two new tables are wonderful and can be used anywhere.........you have such an eye for decor I cannot wait to see what you do with it all. Blessings and thank you for sharing!

Hello Deborah. You always find some really nice things on marketplace. I love your style. We all have different taste, and have things in our home that we’d like to change. It doesn’t mean that we’re being snobby or not appreciative. I totally understand why you would want to redo your kitchen. I love your home and property. It is so beautiful and I know that the changes you make in the future are going to be fabulous. You are such a sweetheart and I enjoy watching you. I look forward to your remodeling, DIYs and decorating. ☺️❤️
Next spring maybe try some purple Verbena, it loves the sun! A few years ago I bought three 7” pots of Verbena spread them out in about a 12’ flowerbed. About three weeks later they had spread and covered the entire bed. They looked so amazing that a neighbor who had some friends over most afternoons just to chat, was evidently asking about what was in the flowerbed, saw neighbor walking towards my house, then she stopped and yelled back over her shoulder and said verbena! Or what about honeysuckle? If you have an area that doesn’t get much sun, calla lilies just love the shade and they just keep on spreading. I lived in California for 27 years, the only thing I miss is our beautiful landscape!
First of all... all I could see in those two iron planters near the steps is pumpkins with some burnt orange fall leaves!!!! Oh my gosh... I love your kitchen!!! Those gorgeous windows and that amazing dark island! Love the lamps flanking the sink. Such a cozy feel. To hide the gap near the stove....I would just put a large wood butcher block cutting board on the counter and place the end over the gap. And I am sure you would decorate it to perfection! Of course I love the island and would just get a slab or hard material for the top... cultured marble ? AHHHH the proverbial time and money! Yes if I could twitch my nose... I would have the kitchen of my dreams.

Deborah tune in to Rural Refurb youtube...she remakes pottery etc. and has a unique way of doing things like your urns. I know you have your technique too but you will be amazed at what she uses to create thrifted items. She is fairly new with her channel and lives in the UK/England and also decorates. Loved your thrifted items and love Maxine! I would think about opening up that wall to get to the screen porch and would not have a problem going around the wall to get there. Just me thinking. Love seeing you more often now as I always enjoy!

Deborah, you certainly got some great bargains. Can't wait to see what you come up with for your kitchen. You could probably do the cosmetic stuff that is needed in your kitchen but I understand that you want to take down some walls and make a better access to your screened in porch. Good morning! A cup of coffee is the best way to wake up. I am with you on the projects... sometimes I want to just move and buy a house that is 100% complete so I can just decorate. 😆 This porch is hard to keep tidy, especially when winter comes. Loved how you focused on the hummingbird, appreciating nature in the moment. And w🤩w the deals you got this week. I have beeeeeen wanting drum tables but here they’ve been to expensive or beyond repair. Can’t wait until painting day on them.
I don’t know how I’d handle people going thru my laundry room to get to the porch. Mine isn’t “Pinterest” perfect.😬

Love the chairs! Your kitchen is a bit dated but it's great to me! I live in a small house and my kitchen has no space for much at all. The whole house is like that since it's about 500 sq. feet. My husband said the closets were made for Barbie clothes! LOL It's very cozy though, and I love it, except I wish I had just a wee bit more room! It's a log cabin that has a good size porch all across the front, which I love! I just need to do a major declutter and keep only what I have to have. Anyway, your kitchen has great windows and so much storage! It's strange to see that tiny fridge in there though! You have a lovely home and you are terrific at decorating!!

You’re so patient about fixing your home which is so refreshing to see. I keep seeing people go crazy renovating their home and living beyond their means. I am much like you by waiting for things I really love and till I can pay cash. It took me 7 years to decorate my last home but the result was exactly what I wanted and no debt. I enjoy your videos so much.❤. I started decorating for fall today and I was inspired to go a different direction after watching what you do. So thanks for that.
I watch a RUclips channel called The Old Byrd Farm. He announced that there is going to be a HUGE sale at a place called Waverley Hall,in Georgia. I don't know how far you live from there but when i watched his video he was showing some cute stuff at the warehouse.

I know my idea of a "perfect kitchen" can change in a matter of minutes, so I want to make sure I know exactly what we want and more importantly, it functions how we actually live. As far as hair and makeup goes, I have plenty to share regarding all that and how it has changed with age. Oh, an idea for you...everything takes time so I was thinking you could possibly remove a few of the doors on the long row of cabinets in your kitchen to make sort of a faux open shelving area to decorate and break it up a bit. Just a thought. ~Rosa~
You could get a piece of glass for your island, that would work until you can replace the island. And who knows you might like it so well that you keep it.
Love the chairs and I’d love to find a smaller recliner but can’t give mine up until I do!🥵 Love that your home is a work in progress although it’s beautiful! I. would take out that whole bank of kitchen cabinets ! and replace it with antique hutch. 😀You can have a slab of granite custom made for the top of your island ❤️ I would add 2 pendant chandeliers over the island ❤️Your house is beautiful! YES ! You have a beautiful space and take your time deciding on your look👍❤️ I went with European cottage and my kitchen has warm woods for Cabinets and antique, crystal chandeliers, hanging, copper, brass, with a French flair. Also an English mix! You have a lot of choices.❤️😀

I do agree with you, your kitchen isn't "Deborah style" it seems too stark and cold for your taste. (Compared to the rest of your house. My sons both work for 2 different granite countertop company. You can custom order a top for your island. You could even get a "2nd" or return if your local company offers that. And....I do love the green chairs. Great find.

Every time I decorate I think about my big house I loved we sold to go to a double wide trailer home, your home is still better than that 🍁🍁🍁🌺
Downsizing again is still in the cards for us. Housing has gotten so expensive. Not just to buy, but to keep up with all the maintenance and so forth. Mobile homes have gotten very expensive, too! We looked at one on a lot before we bought this house and the cost was absurd. Then you had to buy land and pay for all the clearing and infrastructure, which literally ended up being more than most homes cost. I was quite shocked. I'm sure your home is beautiful and if it is smaller than your previous home, less to clean! 😆👏👏👏👏👏 Happy Fall!
I like your roosters…they both look good and it’s nice to see them look different. As for your island, I would get a piece of thick glass for the top of it, easy to clean, no dirt in the groves but you get to appreciate the beauty of the wood on top and the detail.
To make those urns not so heavy, you can fill the base with empty plastic soda or water bottles with the caps on them. Way less potting soul required.
I just can’t believe the great things you find on Marketplace. Everything I see in NYC is junk, out of style and overpriced. Those recliners are amazing❣️❣️❣️❣️

I like the look of the Hen just the way it is. I think it looks pretty, like old worn stone. The color is just perfect to me. But that's just my opinion. I know you do what you like best for your home.
The polka dot plant will start to die away for the winter but will definitely always come back. So please don't throw it out because you may think it's completely dead, it isn't, it's resting for the winter. 😊
