- Hello RUclips Friends! Thank you for stopping by for today's video! I finally finished painting those Urns from Lowes and added a touch of Fall decor to the front porch. In this video, I'll share what's been going on the past couple weeks as well as the products I use to create the textured finish on the urns. I do not have specific colors because I ended up mixing colors I had on hand. I didn't want to spend any additional money for these projects, fall florals or decor. I was able to come up with 2 beautiful arrangements in the urns using other seasonal greenery and stems.

I so appreciate your comments about stress in our everyday living and the world around us. At almost 70 years old, I work full-time, and attend to my 98 yr old father's affairs. He is in a nursing home and slowly deterioating which is gut-wrenching.. It is such a pleasure to watch your videos to take my mind off of all the stress of my dady-to-day obligations. Your videos are my little escape for me time and they are so relaxing.. I may never paint or decorate a single tihing, but I wouldn't miiss a video! Thank you!

Deborah - I always look forward to your videos & yes, there are horrible things going on in the world and in our own lives - I lost my boyfriend of 22 years in December so it has not been a good time for me, but if we dwelled on the sad things constantly, and especially those we can’t control, we would all be a depressed mess - so thank you - life goes on and there are many of us who lives would not be the same without our beautiful treasures to enjoy - as always, greetings & blessings from sunny Central Florida 🥰

Hi Deborah, I'm having a root canal too, yay, lol. My appointment is Nov 2nd, I'm also going to have a lot of dental work done. It's very expensive! I absolutely love your front porch planters, very pretty!!! Yes, there's so much going on now, very stressful, but I'm a christian and i know what is about to happen, the Bible explains everything, so we do have a lot of hope!! Your porch looks amazing! I think your secret ,is that your approach each projects with fearless abandon. While us mere mortals are always striving for perfection. Its the imperfections, which make your creations turn out perfectly! Love the simple black chairs with the fringed cushions, and those incredible open weave iron and glass round side tables are gorgeous. You always seem to find the most unique treasures, that I never seem to find. It is always inspiring to see whats possible ,if the rest of us would just give it a try.

First off, Happy Birthday! Keep celebrating. Ugh, dental work. Glad you got through the root canal. I had the Invisalign a few years ago at 59. It wasn’t bad and made a big difference. Your urns are just gorgeous!! Ironically, I bought these same urns back in the summer and used some of your painting techniques. Mine have different colors but I’m happy with them. I love your DIY videos because I learn so much from you. I even put it to use. Made the pumpkins awhile back. Thanks for sharing your time and talents with us.

Every time I watch your videos, I end up asking myself, "Now why didn't I think of that?" LOL! I love watching what you're up to and how you're doing it. I once painted our dining room in our former old Victorian home with joint compound swirling and dabbing. Then painted it the most beautiful shade of light blue after it was dry. The old house never looked so good! Thank you for all your encouraging words about our world right now. It's a scary place. My biggest worry is about the future world that my 5 young grandchildren are going to be faced with. We just have to be wary and take care of ourselves and those we love.

thank you so much for the paint tutorial on the urns. I had braces on my teeth for two and a half years starting at age 42. it was horrendous. you are so lucky because I have heard good things about the invisible ones not being painful like the metal ones. I hope you feel much better soon. take care of yourself first.

I'm glad my videos offer a little escape. 🤗 Painting is therapeutic for me. I like watching others on RUclips, as well. Our tabby cat is a male named Castiel. When we adopted him as a tiny kitten, my son was into watching Supernatural and there was character that was an angel with that name. We just call him Cas. He's a hoot.
I try to limit my intake of the news to stay aware, but not overwhelmed. You could read and watch it all day and night and never run out of awful things to learn about. 🙏

WOW Debra! I love the way the pots turned out. The old world finishes are things that I like to try to achieve as well. I used stucco patch not too long ago and it gives such a great finish and it happens very quickly. I have two urns that I need to redo and will be using this method. I love the way the kitties come to supervise you. Maxine looks like she's in a resting phase. I'm leaving you this comment as I have my 9-year-old Siberian male cat on my lap. His sister visited me a few minutes ago. It's so important to have proper supervisors on staff. I giggled when you said that you like to keep things simple. I like your idea of simple. Thank you so much! I'm just grateful they were able to get it all fixed on the same day. I'm in the dental chair right now waiting to get the temporary filling replaced with the build up for a crown, which will come after the Spark braces. Xo
You always have such beautiful videos. One things I learned this past hummingbird season. Change out the food every couple days, cuz fungus will cause them to not extract their tongues and eventually die. Porch looks absolutely great. Tfs cheers

You should try coating your porch railings with Armor All after cleaning, it will help repel dirt and dust, or even a thin coat of car wax. You can try it in the Spring.

I just absolutely love your creative talent! I have been making different items to look like stone for several years and have used the same ingredients, as well. I even salvaged old plastic 50 gal water barrels with the stone look technique for the 2 front corners of my deck. I turned them upside-down and then place huge pots on them to grow veggies. They look awesome. Believe it or not, my current project is taking an old felt witches hat and making it look like stone to set it out on my front porch. It's a slow process but think it will look cool. Hopefully! Great job on your urns!

That is awesome! I haven't decided what to do in them for Christmas. My wheels have been spinning about it recently. I'm trying to limit my spending this year, but it is hard. 😆 🎄 Especially when you go into Hobby Lobby. I am going today because my sweet friend got me a gift card for my birthday.
