- Welcome to The Painted South! In today's video, I am sharing another fun haul of home decor and project pieces that I collected while out and about this past week! Some of these treasures will be used in my guest room makeover while others will be used elsewhere in the house as I continue to renovate and makeover our home, room by room. The items I found are from Dollar Tree, Home Goods, Ross, Southeastern Salvage Home Emporium, Antique and Thrift Stores in my local area. I hope you all enjoy this video. Just love watching your channel as you cover everything I love to do…getting great pieces at thrift and antique stores, taking them home and leaving them as is, or giving them a little pick me up, and decorating rooms! So watching you go through your haul was so enjoyable! And video was definitely not too long! I think you have a good idea about the military display! I have one, also. My great-grandpa was in the Civil War, and I found a plaque that said Civil War 1861-1865, so I got it. I have 2 clay bust of my boys, and at Appomattox I found hats that were Blue and Gray, and got them for the boy's head busts, and put them all together. It looks great and is appropriate for my family and to honor them.

It is windy where I live so I am always looking for heavy items with which to decorate my front porch. For tin items or large vases, I put heavy rocks in them.
Right away when I saw the platter I too thought spoon rest. The picture is perfect!

You have such a talent for spotting things to do over! I loved the painting you found. I happen to love lilac or hues near the color myself. I had to smile when you got the false eyelashes as I just went and bought some too. They are getting very pricey. The hanging baskets you bought for $3 were deeper and nicer in design. I tried to use a dollar store one for a turtle, you put that green hay inside and glue on the feet. I saw it on Pinterest. Some things I should just leave the way they are.

Love the yellow bowl and $7.50 was great! The oranges were $12.99 which in my opinion was too much. Hangers were a real score! I love, love the candle holder! You really have an eye for cool stuff. That wooden tray was so intricate and gorgeous. That picture was so beautiful!
You have such good taste, I think you should think about having a booth in an antique mall or a shop where you can sell your found items and your DIY projects as well. Once your home is done, you'll need something other to keep you shopping and collecting great stuff.
Hi Deborah !--wanted to tell you about the 3 piece cheese cloche. Have seen one like that before where the marble is actually intended to sit on that routed out indenture on top of the wooden decorative tray in the manner as you last showed it in your video frame sequence. In that aspect the marble is not supposed to slide around while one is cutting a cheese ball, or what ever you serve on it.
I absolutely am in total love with that canvas art piece ! Lucky you for nabbing it.
How come I never find these amazing items at my thrift shop or antique shop. You are so lucky. I especially love the white ceramic oversize chamber candle, the pillow covers and the french hooks. Oh and that incredible dresser mirror!

I could not read the exact lettering on your wall hooks. Enchantee is French and it is the equivalent of, "Nice to meet you. "
Encante is Potugese meaning enchant.
I love the cheese board/cloche. So pretty with the detail on the wood board.
I also really like the gold lamp with beading. Such a perfect little accent lamp.
The pottery candlestick is lovely. So sturdy and versatile.
Your used-to-be lamp base is beautiful. It would make a great accent piece on its own on a mantel or shelf.

You really know how to kill time! Lamp is so cute. You need to kill time more often. Those pillow covers really took my breath away. Those candle holders would not have been $6.00 at my Goodwill. How did you get so smart with decorating? I could listen all day to you. And you are so sweet.

If you've been wearing lashes for decades as I have (before they even became popular), you probably remember the Maybelline ones. They were the best and could be worn over and over. When they started to discontinue them years ago, I bought up as many as possible and still have some squirreled away. That $75 (!) dresser is going to be another of your masterpieces, and adore the large canvas art with the purple and lilac colors.
I’m anxious to see your finished dresser! My China cabinet & dining room table are in the same design & I’ve been wanting to paint it!

I also get my ioni lashes from Dollar tree and they're absolutely wonderful I noticed I got older my eyelashes got thinner and shorter so but I love the glamorous look of the eyelashes

Your guest room is lovely so far! 😊 I’ve had really good look with sheets and blankets for twin beds with Target Pillowfort, Pottery Barn Kids and Teens (they’re reasonable on sale). Got some gorgeous velvet throws at Pottery Barn Teen for $29.99 last year

Hello Deborah, the ivory-white Pfaltzgraff dish is meant to be a serving dish for a cooked fish, served whole with tail dangling at the end. I have the same dish I purchased at a store in Atlanta many year ago.
