played and still have the n64 version, truly one of the best megaman spinoff, by the way you forgot to mention quite a lot of things
    1. if you kick the can on the shopping center to the bakery behind the counter you will get 1k zenny every time usefull for early game
    2. there are trashcans and card boxes that give you new items or sub missions items
    3. the game has lots of hidden mission and missable content, example: theres a sub mission of stopping a runaway car that drops a briefcase in wich theres a hefty sum of money you have 3 options: 1. stop the car and let the police have the money back, 2. stop the car and take the money for you or 3. let the car runaway in wich case theres going to be a new building, a burger restaurant run by the tron family.
by the way ill give you hints for the hidden sub quest:
-the painting lady from the pier
    -the clothing shop
-the music shop on the shopping district(yes you can enter)
-the tv station after getting the jet skate
    4. megaman color changes depending on your actions, example: kick dogs and people, stealing, etc.. will give you a darker and darker tone for megaman and doing good dids(wich are harder to grind) will give you a ligther shade, this will affect some things on the game but that is for you to find out
    5. shining laser
    6. you can give 3 gift to role for her bedroom. a flower, a musicbox and a ring.
theres a lot of secrets for the game.

at 21:02 you mention that you don't have an opportunity to backout, but you actually do. When Roll asks if you want to retreat, you can take that moment to go back to Data, replenish your energy and ammo, save, and then go back to the froggy boss fight.

Yes, this game absolutely still holds up today. Setting the controls to turn with the D-Pad and strafing with the shoulder buttons feels much more natural. I could never get used to the default setting of turning with the shoulder buttons and strafing with the D-Pad. Just feels off.

Oh man, I remember playing this around the mid to late 1990s. So probably a year or so after release and it was solid. Yeah, it's clunky today but a lot of 3D games from that era were. But this was unique because it played like a Metroid-Vania, before that term existed. I mean, look at what you do. You explore to get money, buy equipment, explore more, find something in the ruins or gain something from a boss/exploration that allows you to unlock more of the map to continue exploring. The elements are all there.

One of my favorite ps1 games ever. The eerie vibes of the dungeons to the super jolly vibes of exploring the city are both extremely on point. I love the brightly colored low poly style of the game and it never gets old no matter how many years pass. I love how fun the NPCs are and the voice acting is so endearing. I'm not a fan of metroidvania style games but this one really kept me invested in exploring the world each time I got a new upgrade.

20+ years since this game came out and there's not many in that entire time that had atmosphere like this game. Going into a ruin felt like really exploring a very dangerous and forbidding place left by an ancient advanced civilization. That's become such a heavily used trope by huge companies like Squeenix but it's rarely been done so well as in MML.

Not sure if anyone else mentioned it, but FYI Mega Man 64 (the N64 version of MM Legends) has analog control! It feels WAYYY better than Legends on PS1.
My only hesitation in recommending it, is that the awesome credits theme from the PS1 version is replaced with a MIDI song ;~;. That song is nowhere near as good! All the voice clips in the credits theme make it sooo nostalgic.

I believe people are hoping Capcom will eventually release a Megaman Legends Legacy Collection sometime soon, especially since the others worked out. With the remastered games and all.
I wouldnt mind.... but i personally would LOVE a remake of both Legends 1 and 2. I love L1 but the gameplay is a bit archaic 😅
I would love a remade gameplay style: maybe something similar to a Rachet and Clank clone...? Beautiful new graphics, new voice actors, that was Megaman's voice (and the others) will be consistent. Additional features, dungeons to dig and find treasures, new town missions, little story details to fill in minor plot holes, etc etc.
Then if the remakes sell well, which i believe that they will, they can finally make a Legends 3

I have the n64 version and loved it. i liked the voice acting and the dialogue. i feel like capcom dopped the ball on making legends 3. i don't thinking mm3 if it came out today would be the same. dialogue in anime and cartoons have changed so much that they might try to adapt to the writing of today ( at lease for the English dialogue).

Honestly megaman legends moral system was never westernized properly, so that couldve made some difficulties. Also megaman legends was very impressive on ps1, but ps2 was a new ball game, and idk if they had core employees or not. Or new projects of course. Ps1 was legendary because it was before the massive graphics war ramping up, with more n more required employees. Which is why smt4 was on a handheld instead of console probably, in part, among other games suffering similarly due to the console wars. MML and Misadventures were genius for their time. Concept of Spotter and Digger mirrors lethal company. Modern gaming is taking their influences subconciously, or in great minds thinking alike and sometimes consciously. Idk if id have gumption to try programming honestly.

Legends is one of my all-time favorite video game series. The PS1 was stuffed totally full with bangers, and definitely has one of the greatest libraries of any console ever developed, and even with that, Legends stands near the top, owing to its' immense charm, poise, and effortless confidence in itself as a series of products; It knew exactly what it was, and executed it with total aplomb.
I initially had zero interest in the 3DS, but the day that Capcom announced Legends 3, I went and bought one specifically and expressly for it. Capcom cancelling the title shortly after was a source of intense, bitter disappointment the likes of which I hadn't felt since Grandia was passed over for a North American Saturn release. To this day, it still annoys me that it never happened.
I'm losing hope too. The cast has aged out of the VA profession, sadly, with one of them being unfortunately deceased. It's a damn shame, as a huge part of Legends' presentation was its' stellar dub. It matched the spirit and delivery of its' Japanese counterpart wonderfully, a rarity in the world of localizations.
An interesting aside: The composer for Legends and Legends 2, Makoto Tomozawa, also worked on Resident Evil on the PS1. This is especially evident in the creepy ambient music in several of the sub-gates and ruins that you explore throughout the games.

Funnily enough, Megaman Legends had a standalone PC version.
It had anti-aliasing, higher resolution, objects pop in farther away, walls pop into view more realistically (they don't sweep in square by square), the Main Gate's walls aren't garishly BRIGHT, etc.
