Definitely a series that needs a massive remake. Considering i have been seeing some remakes coming out of Japan recently both in Anime, and videogames. Sometimes i really wish Capcom would really finish the Legends series and get Megaman out of that Moon. I can only imagine what a jump in technology both in graphics and in gameplay this series can be in todays day and age.
It's shocking how well this game has aged. I give it a playthrough at least once a year. I'll never foret how much it blew my mind when I realized all the underground areas were connected.

I absolutely love these games, I was lucky enough to have an old copy of legends one and two that my parents bought back in the 2000's so I was able to play these games growing up and to this day I still replay them every single year just because they are so much fun to playthrough. (Also great video deserves more attention.)
We need a Mega Man Legends Legacy Collection on Switch - I prefer it when they preserve the original look and feel of the game graphics in their collections while adding some nice QOL features like the Rookie Hunter Mode in the X collections (Makes X6 actually playable!) Plus, they wouldnt have to deal with the licensing issues that initially delayed their digital release on PSN, as there would be nothing stopping them from modifying assets. It would also give them the opportunity to localize all of the Japanese exclusive side games, like the Demo Episode of Legends 2 and the Mobile game that was released in 2008. I hear there was even a Rockman Dash Golf too - they could include all of those to add value for a collection, as well as the usual pre-release materials and merchandise scans. @Forrealsyall
I never played these games back in the day, I think I was just too much of a 2D purist when it came to MegaMan. But now I definitely regret it. Really gotta boot these boys up on an emulator someday
I’ve been watching mega man retrospectives all week while at work. Played the crap out of both games growing up. At this point I’m going to probably emulate since I can’t bring myself to paying $70-$100+ for used games. Hoping they give us a legacy collection 😭😭😭.
If you have a PS3 I am pretty sure they all the games are about 5 dollars on the ps3 store (granted you have to do so with a roundabout gift card method) but you still are fully able to get and play these games that way.
Just reminding the world i accidentally played 1 and 2 instead of ANY OTHER MEGAMAN GAME by pure accident or mistake depending on your view. I was in a used game store when i was 8 or 9, and saw megaman games. Legends 1, 2, and megaman x8. I thought they were all from the same series so i figured i should go in chronological order. It wouldnt be until i was like 22 till i found out just how rare they were.
excellent video, easily my personal favorite dash/legends retrospective i’ve seen. it was great being reminded of specific scenes like the tron fight where she impersonates roll. one thing i often wondered about was whether or not some things got lost in translation between the localizations of the first and second games. mainly due to the fact that juno makes multiple references to both “eden” and “mother.” both of which are never mentioned again in the second game. i may be overthinking it, but i feel it’s likely “eden” was changed to “elysium” and “mother” was changed to “the master” but i could be wrong. it’s been a long time, but i used to play and replay these games over and over again in my youth, and now as an adult just spend time on youtube watching videos about them😂 PS- in the first game there is an item roll can build for you that allows 3 buster parts instead of just 2 late in the game💪🏻

When you reverse the syllables, it becomes バカ (baka), which is a colloquial term in Japanese meaning something like "idiot," "moron," or "fool." This playful twist relies on the sound similarity, which gives the otherwise harmless animal name a humorous twist in the Japanese language, but the humor doesn’t carry over as easily into English, making it one of those puns that are tricky to translate effectively (using something like “tin can” to make fun of Megaman might work). Or maybe the person who translated it wasn't even aware of the joke. :D
Oftentimes when you're a game collector, you can take solace in the fact that many rare and expensive games are just shovelware that nobody ever wanted so you're not missing out on much if you don't get it. The Megaman Legends series unfortunately bucks that trend by being great and actually worth playing, but still stupidly expensive and hard to get your hands on.
Yeah, I got relatively lucky with the prices I paid for these games, and the PAL prices are thankfully lower than the NA prices. But I still ended up having to spend a lot to get these.

Yeah Megaman isn't an android or a machine, he and the Carbons, are the final, ultimate dream of Dr. Light from the original games. A perfect fusion of organic, human life, and powerful robotic precision. If you play every Megaman game in order you can see a slow process starting in the background art and enemies: the replacement of nature with machines. The ZX series has "biometals" that show another step in this evolution. By the time of Legends people are fully artificial but they're still organic people, but they can effortlessly replace portions of themselves with metallic parts.
Yeah Megaman Legends is the first Mega Man game I’ve ever beaten. I’ve played X a lot and I’ve watched my friend play through the classic games but this series really just blew me away. And it’s fun to hear how more of the lore connects to these games

MML caught my eye when I first read about it in Official US PlayStation Magazine and when it finally released I bought it. Finally a Megaman game that was different. I don't remember how long it took me to beat it, at least a month but likely longer. I kept spending so much time looking at everything. Staring at the market shops, the walls and winding corridors of the ruins, the general atmosphere of the city, the way places look inside like the bank and electronics shop, the markings on the 90° angled hills in the Yass Plains. The whole world captivated me.

The Mother Lode could be the Ciel System, or something developed in Megaman ZX Advent.

I absolutely love these games, I was lucky enough to have an old copy of legends one and two that my parents bought back in the 2000's so I was able to play these games growing up and to this day I still replay them every single year just because they are so much fun to playthrough. There was even a Taiwanese exclusive edutainment game for PC too - its box art is so funky too!
