My husband and I twice had the pleasure of seeing John Pinnette in person in a small comedy club in my hometown. John was even funnier in person and my husband laughed so hard I actually moved my chair away from the table so I could pretend I didn't know him. RIP John Pinette, the world is a much sadder place since you were taken from us.
I really wish I had the opportunity to see him live. He used to have me rolling and always seemed like a genuinely kind person.
We missed seeing him in Brea CA when he was in town, but I bought tickets for his next show in Ontario CA the following week. During that weekend he flew back to PA, and unfortunately passed away. Truly heartbreaking! Without doubt one of my all-time favorite comedians.

John Pinette makes me laugh like almost nobody else. He was an absolute legend.
John is hilarious. One of my favorites. He does a routine. Were there in France working on a movie. Then they drive to Italy to eat at an authentic Italian restaurant.

We brought Timmy, he was too skinny he shouldn’t have been there. Half way through the meal he died ! They kept tried to feed him, “whatsa matta you no like ?”But mister he’s dead, pass that over here, I always eat when I’m sad.”I memorized it, John was brilliant. I wish he were still with us. He’s making God laugh now !
Mr. Pinette was "One of a Kind". His accents, dialects, and facial expresions just amplify the humor of his words like no other. Pick any bit, your sides will hurt.
John is proof you can be funny without colorful language or dirty jokes.

I see that no one has mentioned that John could have been a legitimate opera singer. He had some golden pipes.
Britt, there are many. many more spots featuring John Pinette and they are all great!. The France/Italy one is very funny. And, how about this one I think you should see: He appeared on The View for a 5 minute spot and it was absolutely hilarious. Please check it out. He squashed in about 20 minutes of comedy into 5 minutes. He had the ladies on The View hysterical!
I got to see him in a small comedy club before he passed. It was amazing. My wife and I never laughed so hard. We were in tears. Total Legend!

As others have said, you can't pick a wrong routine. He was classically unique.
John has been my favorite comic since I was a teen, Got to meet him and have a cigar with him before the show and had eachother in stitches with the stories we were swapping . He is such a genuine man, very kind and naturally funny. His manager had to come get him to let him know he was on in 5 and we rushed to our seats after he signed out tickets. The world definitely misses that man and his humor not to mention the amazing person he was. I say ney ney.... R.I.P my friend.

I introduced my wife to John's act while on vacation. I put his CD in while driving the backroads of Wisconsin, and 5 minutes later she had to pull over because she was laughing so hard she was crying and couldn't see the road.
John Pinette is a god of comedy and I'm still sad about his passing. He's one of the few comedians that, when people ask me what they should watch, I say, "It doesn't matter, it's all good."

He played at a community college here by my house one time. We got to meet him when we were walking in and he was hanging out in the back of the auditorium. Very cool guy! R.I.P. John...

John Pinette was one of the most underrated names in comedy. The man could make you laugh hysterically about food and travels, he could sing exceptionally well, and yes, he had that cherub like innocence about him. We'll miss you, John
John was the first comedian I ever saw live, must’ve been back in 2012 or so but from what I remember it was an amazing show. I remember being heartbroken when I found out he had passed away - R.I.P.
I miss John...my friends and I can't even go to a buffet now without quoting his lines and laughing like idiots. At random times, one of us will just holler "you been here for four hours...YOU GO NOW!" Then there's a good ten minutes of giggling.

And for the record, Just for Laughs is a comedy festival in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Quebec being the only province, to my knowledge (and I live here), that is prominently french. They speak it a few other places in the country, but the rest of the country is more prominently english. Again, I could be wrong tho. I haven't ever been east of Quebec yet.
You will never go wrong looking to John Pinette for a good laugh. If his name is on it, you need to watch!

Toshiro Mifune was a Japanese actor who was in Seven Samurai, Shogun etc.. He was the "John Wayne" of Japan.
Just seeing his name in print always casts my mind back to the opening anamorphic title sequence of 1982's 'The Challenge' with Scott Glenn. Standing in a rib line at a festival I showed the couples behind me his I don't do lines clip. The couple in front of me did exactly as John said. We laughed.
With buffets because of a lawsuit or lawsuits now attach a time limit, like for example "4 hour" all you can eat buffet.

I'm always late to the party, so somebody probably already mentioned this, but the free willy joke is one of my favorites, precisely because it works on two levels. First, it's kinda funny (Free Willy is a movie about an orca (a whale) i.e. he eats like a whale) - but the best part of that joke is that is designed so that NO ONE gets the joke at first (because the accent is so thick) - so he waits a beat till everyone's on board with not getting the joke, then he fills in the blank by "translating" the accent, and then the joke lands, and you get a double joke hit! It's comedy genius, and just one of sooo many reasons why I love John Pinette (RIP).

I have a friend that once was challenged to make a chili that was too hot. Well challenged was accepted and chili made. Let me tell ya, that chili could have scalded pavement but the real test of it's spiciness was he put what was left of the chili in the spare fridge and forgot about it until a week later. He showed me pics of a mold growing in the pot with the chili. There was a ring of mold growing completely around the inside of the pot except for about a 2 inch gap that separated the mold from the chili. There was no mold and I mean none whatsoever inside that gap. Mold wouldn't even grow near this chili much less in it. I'd never seen anything like before or since then.
