Awesome review. I appreciate the fact that you touched on car behaviors that other reviewers did not do--throttle tip-in, suspension calibration, noise level, etc. Thank you.
One of the most enjoyable reviews, great work. I will take ownership of this very car tomorrow. I commute over 100 miles daily, through research this seemed like the best all around car for the money while managing to have some fun while you drive. Long term reliability will be tested, as the 100 miles daily is in Alaska.
Super Review! Just leased the 3 Turbo HB over the weekend. Blew me away how the driving characteristics are vastly superior to my previous 2020 Mazda 6 Turbo. Given the essentially identical engine and transmission, the superior Engine note, responsiveness and smoother shifting is amazing. In addition, although firmer, it actually is quieter, rides better and of course handles and steers much better than the "6 Turbo". I'll miss the extra room in the back seat of the 6...a little but not much ;)
Interesting, this is my first time seeing someone who owned both the Mazda 6 and 3 turbo. I have a 2021 turbo hatch (bought december 2020) and still love it, but I'm surprised the 6 with independent rear suspension has worse handling. I guess that makes sense because the suspension is tuned softer, but still a bit of a surprise.
@@jbm0866Yah, Mazda 6 had a softer suspension and only front wheel drive. The drivetrain could NOT put the power down to the road. Since I left this review 3 years ago I ended up missing out on a 2023 3 Turbo and had to settle on a 2023 Carbon Edition. UGH! the engine was total garbage. Thankfully, a huge old Dodge Ram pickup decided to push me off the road and totaled that and thankfully I was not injured at all by the grace of God. I replaced it with a 2023 Subaru WRX Base model 6 speed manual. I kind of miss the slightly more refined ride and lower noise of the 3 Turbo and the awesome low rpm torque as well, but the WRX can be far more fun at times than the 3 Turbo. Be that as it may, hold onto that 3 Turbo. It is a great car.
@@sandeshkc4567 - I liked it a lot but I traded it for BMW’s 230i Coupe.(2022). More bang for my buck. Great value for my trade and excellent value for minimally optioned BMW’s 230i.
Great video….curious though….appreciate your MPG highway tests….BUT…that test obviously shows best fuel economy…would be interested to hear, or see in centre gauge/real time MPG, as you were canyon carving….?10MPG? Regardless…just ordered a 2024 3 SPORT SUNA….current ride is the 2020 FWD, 6 spd manual….cylinder deactivation…average MPG in the 40’s!! Gonna miss that, but, looking forward to the torque,AWD, and power boost!
As an owner of a 2021 just like this (but with red leather) I can honestly say I can't really notice the power difference with 93 octane vs 87, but thats just based on my butt dyno. However I did get slightly better gas mileage on a road trip with premium vs the same trip on regular so thats something to consider if the price difference isnt too great where you live. I will say this is a good road trip car, but the gas tank is too small. It's not a huge deal, but there are times when I'd rather keep moving along instead of looking for a place to fill up. Still far less hassle than taking an EV out on the open road, so theres that.
Higher rpm would be pointless since they tuned this to give you all the power early on and it falls off hard at 5000. If anything they should add more gears to keep the rpm low.

You earned a subscription. I can tell your an enthusiast like me. You talk about getting into the car and that is important to me. Love your review.

How's it been?
What do you think of the low visibility? Does it bother you?
Thank goodness!! Finally someone who talks about getting in and out of the car! Thank you for talking about it.

This was a great review. I really enjoyed it. You deserve more views and subscribers.
Can confirm, Mazda 3 turbo down this canyon road is *chef’s kiss*
Also thanks for the heads up about the popo
The car allows you to go to fuel cutoff and won't upshift when you have traction control off.
Some important points that nobody else mentioned. Should have more like 140K views!
Excellent review. Thanks
Love the hillclimb video. If all your reviews are like this I'll be watching many more
Really dig this review format dude
I subbed for this guy respects mazda like I do😊
Excellent review! You cover all the bases. I should be getting my 2022 version of this car in about a week!
How do you like it so far? Getting my delivery in next few weeks.

You mentioned it will upshift at redline and sometimes won't, I believe it won't if you have traction off.
Nice real world content
Great review!
This was a good in-depth driving review. Will you also be reviewing the Mazda CX-30 Turbo?

I want the drivetrain of my Golf R in the body/interior of this car
The Mazda3 actually has more torque than the Golf R (although less HP).

@@zacharycortese3733 , LOL, fair enough. 😊
For sure they make a car first. Why would i want to drive a giant smartphone? Less tech is more.
