I'm running into that with almost all my doctors now as the old ones are retiring on me and now I'm stuck with all "fresh out of school, but younger than me" doctors that I'm like, "Oh you make me feel old!"

This song was awesome, and it made me remember of my pops. He took me to see yall in Austin 5 or 6 times when i was around 13-15 years old. Im now 32 with 2 kids of my own. My pops passed away in 2017 when he was 48. He would have had this jamming in the car for sure, haha. Thanks for all the memories, boys. Really enjoyed the tune. Keep rockin 🤘

I don’t think a series would work, but maybe a one time special where the gang is all in town for thanksgiving or something. but I think a big part of the series is that kind of collective free time to be creative together only really happens for those 104 days of summer vacation as a kid and then life moves on and people have different schedules and paths...

My favorite Bowling For Soup song is 1985 and my sister just relaized this recently. The other day she showed me a parody song of it called Mid 2005 and I suddenly felt old. Hearing this song now, it feels so fitting.

I used to listen to bowling for soup when I was in middle and highschool. I'm now 31 and a recovering fentanyl addict/convicted felon. I have a 9 year old son and I feel my body getting old. Getting old does suck, especially when you regret the past.
I’m in the same boat but with heroin and without the kid. The way to look at it is, you need to forgive yourself for your past, it’s done, can’t be changed, but the future can be as great as you want it to be, substance free 😊

you will be in highschool til you are 18, college til you are 24, 28 if you go for a bachelors, you will be working fir 2 years before you are in your 30's, you will have spent 23 years in school, will have a ton of debt and barely learned anything you couldnt have learned online, you will likely be in your 40s or more before you pay off your student loans, and by then will have saddled yourself with car payments, maybe a mortgage.
if you are lucky you will retire at 60 and have a few years of freedom from debt after everything has been wrung outta ya. and through it all you get to see everyone you love die.

@@kellykel4472 Actually one of my favourite shows ever was at Wembley Arena in London, Buckcherry, BFS & Steel Panther. I flew all the way from Cairns, Australia to London just to go to that show.

Very few bands can get away with never fundamentally changing their sound. Maiden and NOFX spring to mind. But Bowling for soup definitely fit into that category too.
AC/DC: putting out the same exact song and selling out stadiums since 1973
That old adage if it ain't broke.. it's why Maiden is still my favourite because they know their base and stick to what we love. Same for Bowling for Soup, I love that they stay with what they are comfortable with which is why I have such a soft spot for them 🙂
In other words, 1985 now applies to us, so, this. Haha
Honestly guys this is a masterpiece. Not pretending you're still 25 is more punk than most bands out here acting like we aren't all 40 now. Love it and keep rocking (before 10 pm ;) )!

A category I fall into.
I find it hilarious when people are listening to covers and either not realising it is a cover or remembering a previous cover when I am remembering the original. One recent incident was seeing White Wedding being covered by MurderDolls. Someone declared it wasn't a Billy Idol track because he didn't write it, not considering most bands don't write their stuff. I liked the original version but my tastes have gotten a lot heavier with age so the cover is more me now.
Aparently we are supposed to mellow with age. I have to be the oddball who gets more messed up as I age. The good news is people seem more OK with angry old man than angry youngster. Though I do get accused of trying to be down with the kids for listening to newer tunes on occasions. The irony that I wasn't down with the kids as a kid let alone at nearly 50 years old is not lost on me.
@@KermitFrogThe I recently had some youngster say "Oh, I didn't know Reel Big Fish did a version of 'Beer'". Apparently, its been covered by a newer pop punk band and dude had no idea.

Stumbled on this browsing around YT. The beginning with the docs is so spot on! A fun, uplifting song considering getting old sucks, and the puppets are great!
The funniest part is still being young and listening to this band, knowing you too will get old.
