Stumbled on this browsing around YT. The beginning with the docs is so spot on! A fun, uplifting song considering getting old sucks, and the puppets are great!
Very few bands can get away with never fundamentally changing their sound. Maiden and NOFX spring to mind. But Bowling for soup definitely fit into that category too.

@@kellykel4472 Actually one of my favourite shows ever was at Wembley Arena in London, Buckcherry, BFS & Steel Panther. I flew all the way from Cairns, Australia to London just to go to that show.
Proof that not everything old is a classic. A category I fall into. I find it hilarious when people are listening to covers and either not realising it is a cover or remembering a previous cover when I am remembering the original. One recent incident was seeing White Wedding being covered by MurderDolls. Someone declared it wasn't a Billy Idol track because he didn't write it, not considering most bands don't write their stuff. I liked the original version but my tastes have gotten a lot heavier with age so the cover is more me now. Aparently we are supposed to mellow with age. I have to be the oddball who gets more messed up as I age. The good news is people seem more OK with angry old man than angry youngster. Though I do get accused of trying to be down with the kids for listening to newer tunes on occasions. The irony that I wasn't down with the kids as a kid let alone at nearly 50 years old is not lost on me.
@@KermitFrogThe I recently had some youngster say "Oh, I didn't know Reel Big Fish did a version of 'Beer'". Apparently, its been covered by a newer pop punk band and dude had no idea.

My pops passed away in 2017 when he was 48. He would have had this jamming in the car for sure, haha. Thanks for all the memories, boys. Really enjoyed the tune. Keep rockin 🤘
Damn Jaret's voice didn't change a bit. still the same BFS after how many yeras. love it
"Wtf is Tik tok." What I wouldn't give to able to forget that.
No you don’t. I stopped watching the media and tv in 2008. Never did Facebook or anything. Now I have no idea what the FUCK IS GOING ON!
@@Stretch_Armstrong666 honestly a life without any type of media doesn't sound half bad
God I'm 25 and I refuse to grow out of punk. I don't know what I will be like when I'm 40 or 50 but I want to go out like these guys. Never stop being awesome. Long live Punk and long live Bowling for Soup
Keep the fire alive buddy xD can't have people growing out of punk! I will raise my kids on it too 🤘
No matter how old you get, never let the punk in you die
getting old isn't that bad when you've been listening to Bowling for Soup for the past 20 years thanks guys!
I hope someone uses this for a tv show theme song where the cast is middle age
It will be a sitcom revival. Malcolm in the Mid-life Crisis
Was in High school in the mid 2000’s now I’m 32 still love listening to them 🔥🔥🤘🤘
1:58 'WTF is TikTok?'
Im 16, but i think the same XD
It's a social media app, It's alright
I wish I never heard for it...
Easy, it's that old-timey robotic character from The Return to Oz.
Also a dope song by Ke$ha.
Somebody somewhere was just unoriginal.
Pretty much Vine 2.0 and will probably die out like vine either from natural causes or government interference due to the high amount of children using it and predators using as well
Felt like the 90's were going to last forever, then one day I woke up and I was 40. 😥 ...cool song though. 😉🤘
40 isn't old. I do miss the 90's.
So true
Don’t feel bad, I thought the same about the 70s and I am almost 60!!
Feel this way about the the last two decades. I'll be 30 this year. Feels weird man.
I feel u
Love the low budget home video feel of this video!
“Now the movies are cartoons and remakes of shit that was better when we played our music too loud.”
There’s something so soul-crushing yet hopeful about this song. It’s “Growing Up Is Getting Old” for metalheads!
Truth
*Punks.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That moment when you realize you completely relate to this song! The best summers of my life were 98-2002, and then boom, the fact that those summers were 20+ years ago hits like a ton of bricks.
I know right wrestling Monday night wars WCW WWF Attitude era, Ozzfest,Download,Warped Tour the rise of Slipknot, American Pie,10 things I hate about you,Simpsons was still good,Shrek, matrix,Lotr god now I'm depressed lmao
I remember growing up listening to Bowling For Soup and I still love them. I'm 31 now. You're only as old as you feel! Keep rocking bros.
Jaret's voice is the same as 20 years ago, holy shit!
The problem with adulthood is, you never know what it's about until it hits you after a few decades of it, then it's too late and you have to deal with the new generation of -jerks- kids who don't know.
Indeed
We're still preoccupied, two-thou... two-thou... two-thousand and five
@@SomeRUclipsTraveler - Knowing the political era of the 2000s onward, I prefer 19-19-1995.
legit
Truth. History keeps looping. Always respect seniors because your kids will be paying attention.
Can confirm that getting old sucks. I had the blandest cereal with just one teaspoon of sugar, and I've had acid reflux all day.
This is by far one of the coolest home made music videos i have ever seen. Huge credit to the artists behind the puppets/video.
Honestly guys this is a masterpiece. Not pretending you're still 25 is more punk than most bands out here acting like we aren't all 40 now. Love it and keep rocking (before 10 pm ;) )!
The funniest part is still being young and listening to this band, knowing you too will get old.
When you're 30 and this songs hits too personally.
Try it when you're in your 50's. I did.
@@mstrfool right but you were already 30 when they were at the height of their popularity.
@@chrisondrovic3106 Yea, like I needed that reminder... Gods.. Thought I'd be dead by 35... Boy was I off.
@@mstrfool glad you're still here, friend.
@@beesknees2594 Well, I'm a stubborn SOB. Also it would make too many people happy if I kicked off. So I stick around. ;)
I turned 40 back in July and i am pretty much the oldest person at my job. This song hits a chord now more than ever!
Gottta love that extra touch of putting their kids in the music video
Thanks - I was wondering if that was their kids. Cool!
Bowling for Soup is back everybody
nature's healing
Need a Karaoke version of this !!!! New Greatest thing about growing old is that I lived to hear this song made!
Man listening to these guys for the last 20+ years, makes me feel old but I’m glad they still got it. Punk Rock 101 forever!
An anthem for those of us there from the beginning? So in. Also, the use of muppets for a video about being old is brilliant! Love you dudes...keep on a rockin and rollin!!!!
Dude I am so happy this band is still active online and does all the things they do lol
So glad im gonna be able to finally see them before they call it a career. One of my favorites growning up so i am so excited for this show
I love the Phineas and Ferb references, since they wrote the song. It's crazy to watch an old show with my little cousins and I can say I watched the episode when it came out.
I may be getting old, but hearing Bowling for soup still making great music in 2021 makes me feel young again :)
Turning 52 next month, still blasting BFS. This song is going to the top of my playlist while mowing my yard.
I turned 38 this year. This song was made for us geriatric millenials...
This song is such a love letter to BFS fans
I'm glad you guys still here! Voice's not changed! xd
PUNK WILL NEVER DIE
This song most definitely gives me the early 2000s feel I've been longing for quite awhile .
The pop punk revival is in Full swing. Pop punk's not dead
It doesn't ever die.
This is pop punk. Not that whiney emo shit from the 00s
@@tmb1065emo and punk pop are pretty much the same thing their is hardly any difference
@@slapbass8723 respectfully disagree. To me "pop punk" is Ramones, Riverdales, Screeching Weasel, Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies, Blink, Rancid, BFS, NFG, Boris the Spinkler--- basic I-IV-V do-wop on speed. Emo is more FOB, AMR, PATD, MCR, Paramore, etc. Yellowcard, Sum41, Good Charlotte, etc. being a bridge between the two. When I want to hear "pop punk," I want fun, fast, drunken, fuck shit up music, not whiney, I wanna commit suicide music. But then, I am just an out of touch old fart so....
@@slapbass8723 The are different BUT they both had their place in the 00’s. I agree Ramones are my number one Pop Punk band but the 2000’s really made it mainstream for better or worse. Also Machine Gun Kelly is bringing Pop Punk back in lots of ways. It’s a pretty exciting time for music. I have not felt that way maybe ever before. I think it’s hope for future of music. 🥰🎶 🎸 🪨
My favorite Bowling For Soup song is 1985 and my sister just relaized this recently. The other day she showed me a parody song of it called Mid 2005 and I suddenly felt old. Hearing this song now, it feels so fitting.
Talk about a band that matures and expands. I love that Bowling For Soup grows and ages with it's fan base. I like "What's My Age Again", but I'm far from 23yrs old and can't relate. lol. So I hope they keep rocking out into their 50's and beyond.
I liked the flashback to 1985.
where?
This is truly one of the songs of all time
Can 2021 get any better, new albums from The Offspring, Weezer, Buckcherry, Black Veil Brides and Bowling For Soup. What a time to be alive!!
Don't forget Foo Fighters put one out in February
You should also check out Punk Rock Factory - very BFS and they do some epic songs 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Well the rumours are that MCR have a new album aswell
@@MrRiddle0 I might check that out when it releases
@@kellykel4472 Actually one of my favourite shows ever was at Wembley Arena in London, Buckcherry, BFS & Steel Panther. I flew all the way from Cairns, Australia to London just to go to that show.
Muppets meet Bowling for soup !!!
We may all get older but BFS' music is timeless.
Getting old sucks, "but we're doing it right"... love that! Listened to the band since their 2002's Girl all the bad guys want
The irony is that “1985” is probably now considered “classic rock.”
ow
Not yet but somehow Green Day is. Like wtf!??
LOL it is Xd
I listen to this once a week to remind me, the truth is getting old sucks but everybody's doing it.
Best band ever !! So happy they still make music !!!
im 23 and i love BFS and their music. this song has the 2000 vibes in it and its super awesome. They still got it! You guys should make more songs like this. I'd prefer this type of music than this generation's music, seriously. BFS ROCK!
I was born in 1983. Boy is this song relatable now! Also, get off my lawn, you damn kids!
I turned 40 yesterday. Thanks for the hymn!
I ADORE THIS SO MUCH!!!!! BOWLING FOR SOUP HAS ONCE AGAIN WRITTEN GOSPEL AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH. Please keep doing this when youre all 195 years old
My midlife crisis needed this lmfao
"WTF is TikTok" Hahaha, this is too relatable...
The sound of the music in this song, takes me all the way back to 2004/2005 when I was 12 and 13 listening to this band. They're keeping the same sound that they had back in the day and bringing back the nostalgia. Very good guys!
